He has invited us to his home in Vienna to playtest his most recent, A Distant Plain. Along with Cuba Libre, they’ll be his fourth and fifth published board games, and the latest in his series simulating insurgencies throughout history: Colombia, Afghanistan and Cuba, with Vietnam, Ireland and the Philippines to follow." From milgames: "Colonel Robert Leonhard wrote superb books. “Fighting by Minutes” (Praeger) is brilliant but nearly impossible to find for an affordable price and “The Art of Maneuver” (Ballantine Books) does a great job of introducing the evolution of effects-based operations throughout history."
Sequoia
Erwin, do we know if the Phiilipines game is set modern day or, to me, the more interesting insurrection against the US in the early 20th century?
Erwin
All I know is what is in the article. If GMT Games are publishing you can check their site.
StieliAlpha
The Volko Runkhe games are published in GMT P500 project. I.e., they require approx 500 pre-orders before they start to design. Currently the Vietnam game is about to be released. If VR wants to do Ireland first and then the Phillipines, it will take at least another two years. Ireland is not even on the pre-order list.
