db_zero
Can these be fired within buildings or do they need to be used outside of buildings?
akd
Outside with an exception due to a game engine limitation: the airborne 2-inch mortar present in parachute rifle squads is used as a handheld grenade launcher rather than a mortar.
Waycool
Does the airborne mortar only shoot smoke rounds? or is HE and WP available ? Isn't the 2" British airborne mortar just lighter bit smaller? What and why is the exception due to game limitations?
SlowMotion
Once they've used all the mortar ammo, they seem to do *very* well in infantry fighting.
Waycool
I have never noticed that each British Airborne section has an airborne mortar with only smoke rounds. Was this the typical use in airborne formations ?

Deployable weapons (HMGs, mortars, wheeled guns) cannot exist in multi-team squads. The essential difference in game with the airborne 2" mortar is nothing related to its form or function, but to the fact that it is typically assigned to the airborne rifle squad. I have never noticed that each British Airborne section has an airborne mortar with only smoke rounds. Was this the typical use in airborne formations ? Yes, according to war establishments.
