Freyberg
Would someone be so kind as to answer a question about the scenario designer. I want to know how to set mission parameters. I get what the points setting means, but I'm not sure what the threshold setting does. - For example, if I set the threshold to 0, and (for example) the enemy casualties parameter to 100, would I get 1 point for each 1% of enemy casualties? Likewise, if I set the threshold to 0, and friendly casualties to 100, do I lose 1 point for each percentage of casualties? What difference would it make if I set the threshold higher?
JonS
It's all or nothing. If the player reaches (or avoids reaching) the theshhold then they get all the points, otherwise they get nothing. Because if the all-or-nothing nature of them, I'm not a fan of parameters, especially when they're worth a lot.
Freyberg
Gosh, that's a shame. I'd like to reward the defender for making the taking of the objectives costly to the attacker, but I don't want to give a specific percentage.
JonS
Yeah, I think DESTROY unit objectives are the way to go there - the defender gets points for every cas he inflicts on the attacker, so the more the attacker bleeds, the better the defender does. You could perhaps add a low-ish value cas %age Parameter objective as a wee fillip, but I'd suggest keeping it quite small since other wise it can swing things too much.
nik mond
Yes, designate the entire enemy formation, or part of it as a Target Objective. Assign how many points you want to it. You will get the ratio of that total based on each and every man you killed.
