nardiajn
ok folk... dumb question..but first ever PBEM game.. I created (as Axis) Roadblock game.. created password and emailed it off to my friend. he in turn created his password and emailed it back to me.. I saved his turn named roadblock002.ema and saved it in my incoming email folder.. question... how the heck do I access that file ? I went to saved games when I started CMBN and its not located ! help !! my thanks !!
Paulverisor64
Perhaps it didn't actually save in the incoming email folder. I find that if I don't do a "Save As" and then make sure it's in the proper location that it will find another location to save.
nardiajn
Hi.. its in the folder CMBM/GameFiles/Incoming Email/Roadblock002.ema any other ideas guys ? it should show once I start the game and go into saved games correct ?
ASL Veteran
You don't have a Windows Vista machine do you? Things get a little dicey with Vista because of the "Virtual Store" folder or whatever it was called.
Paulverisor64
Just a guess here. It is possible that you are only filtering "Saved Games"? At the bottom of the interface for opening saved games it can be filtered 3 different ways. "Saved Games", "Saved Games and incoming e-mail" and "incoming e-mail" check to see that you aren't set up to just open "Saved Games". If that isn't it I'm curious whether the incoming 002 turn has any file size to it?

WynnterGreen
Same version of the game...... perhaps one of you is patched to version? If you're using version 2.0 and your opponent is using 1.10 then you wont see the game.
womble
Same version of the game...... perhaps one of you is patched to version? If you're using version 2.0 and your opponent is using 1.10 then you wont see the game. But that'd apply the other way round, too, and the opponent is returning a turn...

c3k
Just a quick check: Start any battle. Inside the battle, select Menu/Savegame/ "Save as" doesn't matter. Let it be the default. Quit. Go to the main menu. Open save games. Is the game you just saved visible as a saved game? Ken
nardiajn
Hi Ken - that works just perfect.. as a .bts .ema is what I am getting for the PBEM a previous post said something of filtering ???
c3k
Just making sure your savegame folder is visible. Go into your game install directory. Game Files (?), should have Saved Games, Incoming Email, Outgoing Email, Campaigns and Scenarios. Is that how your directory is set up? As stated above, the saved game option from the main menu has a dropdown filter at the bottom of the left side. It includes options for email only, savegames only, or both. Is that set so you can see pbem? Ken

nardiajn
ut oh !!! I do not have that !!!! (what you circled !) guess that explains things but how does that get resolved ?!
stikkypixie
ut oh !!! I do not have that !!!! (what you circled !) guess that explains things but how does that get resolved ?! Ok, this just means you don't have the 2.0 version of the game (it has minor enhancements). What version does your opponent have? If your opponent has the 2.0 version the game, you won't be able to see his/her turns.
