Spillen
Hi Please, I need help! I have tried to set up a PBEM. I select 2 player e-mail, it asks me for a PW, it then offers to save a file. Once I have done this it dumps me back to the home page every time. I have tried many maps, I have tried to alter the map names in the scenario editor but to no avail. Any ideas. Brent Pollock (WBRP)
Maybe I misunderstand the problem because this seems to be exactly what it is supposed to do. Is the resulting PBEM file not in your Outgoing Email folder?
Spillen
ok, sorry, i wasn't very clear. All this happens before I get to set up my troops. 1. I select battle 2. I select a map 3. I select a combat force 4. I select a game option (in this case 2 player e-mail) 5. it asks me for a password 6. I then get the 'save e-mail screen' and it offers a file name. 7. I press ok and then i am back to home page. There is indeed a file in my out going folder. am i to understand that before setting up troops or even seeing the map i have to send this file? Thanks Spillen

WinOrLose
That's correct. Caught me out first time as well. If you are going to play a lot of PBEM I suggest you get drop box and HTH helper. It makes managing your turns a lot easier and cuts out the need to email turns back and forwards.
Spillen
ok, i have another question. When I send the file to my opponent and he puts it into his incoming folder he cannot see it in the 'saved games' section of the game  I am using a MAC and he is on a PC. Should this make a difference? (the file is an .ema) Thanks Spillen

What you're describing sounds like a version mismatch.
mjkerner
Does incoming email folder automatically put it into the Saved Games folder where it needs to be? (I don't know, because I always just manually take it out of the Dropbox folder and plop it into the Saved Games one.)
HarryB
Does incoming email folder automatically put it into the Saved Games folder where it needs to be? (I don't know, because I always just manually take it out of the Dropbox folder and plop it into the Saved Games one.) There is no need to move it out of the incoming email folder. When you click on 'Saved Game' on the main screen, it will automatically display files in the incoming email folder. I only play HTH PBEM and my saved game folder is empty, but all files from the incoming email folder show up.
