Hotifix: Shader question

Any know if the shader changes in the hotfix are an improvement of some kind or only necessary if you were having problems?

They should improve shadow quality for most users. They may fix a couple of visual problems with shadows as well, depending. It's very much a YMMV sort of thing. I'd install the one for your card maker, see if it improves things. If not, take it out.

We'll be working more on improving performance and visual quality, but we had some good results with these internally and thought people might like to try them out. Please do let us know if they helped, and what you think of them.

I used the ATI ones. I think they look better for sure, and it feels a tiny bit more smooth but that could just be a perception thing. I like it

I used the ATI one and tried a scenario which had terrible shadow flickering on buildings. That's now gone, but the flickering has replaced by a kind of subtle wave effect. It is however an improvement!

Forgot to mention - shadows are much better

I used the ATi one and it works a treat .... looks better and runs nice and smooth :-) .... thanks for the help :-)

The Nvidia drivers improved my shadows alooooot!! Thanks BF!
