gunnersman
...ugh. Looks like way too much work and way too much recoil! I love how he nonchalantly takes out the Panther and then reports back.
wokelly
Wow, both the videos the guys are firing the PIAT wrong. What are the chances? Proper way to fire the PIAT is the base plate in your shoulder. Hold on well enough for the recoil the weapon should theoretically recock itself.
GreenAsJade
Tell you what, looking at that, I can see why they didn't put the base plate on their shoulder. It looks like it would dislocate your shoulder! (And obviously the guy in the film never cocked and fired that "piat" he was carrying). Sergei
It doesn't make sense to compare those clips to the real use of the launcher. The bomb itself is missing. The detonation of the propellant would be causing most of the backward recoil, and some of that energy would be used to recock the pin. Those videos therefore don't really give any idea of what it was like to fire live - and they of course are holding them wrong! It's not a recoilless weapon, and not very accurate I've heard, but I don't think it would dislocate anyone's shoulder. Like when firing a shotgun, you just have to know how to support it. http://youtu.be/3p161gpB59I
