Crender
I've raised before the issue of ground textures rising up or shifting when a move order is being placed. I find the issue very distracting and I know others have the same problem. I think I have finally found the cause. I loaded an old version of CMSF - V1.08 - before the coloured placement indicators were introduced in 1.10. In 1.08 the ground is rock solid, never shifts or wobbles at all. Problems start with 1.10 when the yellow and red coloured placement squares are introduced. The problem is worse in CMBN perhaps because the ground textures are more complex. So whilst I accept the coloured squares are an aid to game play, allowing you to position units accurately, they do have an unfortunate side effect (on mine and other peoples machines). So, a plea to BFC - could you please look again at how this is implemented? If possible could you introduce a switch to allow people to turn off the placement squares if they are having problems with them? Thanks
Chainsaw
I'm lost, what exactly is the problem? is the terrain tiles rising up a few meters or what? Never heard of this or noticed it myself so a bit curious

sburke
This is what I mean: I have to say that was an absolutely stellar response. Seriously, a few seconds of video and I now see exactly what you mean. I can't say I have noticed it before, but I am sure I will be much more aware of it now... in which case I will probably be mad at you.
Crender
As you can imagine, I am finding it quite obtrusive. I would be happy to just be able to switch the placement icons off since it is these that are causing the problem. I think they are hard-coded?
GreenAsJade
I had this problem initially, thought it was really bad. I was going to say I don't have it any more. But I went and looked just now and it is still there. I guess I just got used to it. It's less noticeable with higher graphics detail setting ("]]]") Funny to have carl_render finding the rendering obtrusive GaJ
Michael Emrys
I get something like that on my machine as well and it is mildly annoying. I find I can live with it, but would be happier to see it gone. Another graphic wonk that I would be happier without is those concentric circles in grass or crops. The moire patterns when viewed at certain angles and distances are also annoying. Michael
Kanonier Reichmann
And there I was thinking that the crop circles were deliberate as an indication of how much research BFC did into German weaponry with proof that they must have had alien assistance in designs such as V2 rockets, giant aircraft able to bomb the USA etc, etc. Regards KR
GreenAsJade
I thought they were simulating the downdraft of the helicopter that is carrying the camera... GaJ
