  1. Here is the problem. I ordered SF1 and all the expansion modules back in 2011 or 2012 and I was using a different username/password but I don't remember what I used. Now the system remembers my email account and they say they have sent me a Password Reset but I never get the message. I have done this several times since members have told me to do so, but still no reset message has been received. Any advice?
  2. Back then, I was a collector of games and miniatures. My miniature collection spanned the entire German and Russian forces from 1941 to 1945 but we did play some humongous scenarios. The largest miniature game I ever played was the Battle of Aachen with 1:76th scale miniatures. The map was laid out on an indoor basketball court. We used the old TSR Tractics Rules. That game was absolutely awesome. Good memories.
  3. Again, thank you for the heads-up. Right now, I just need to get the computer and one of the newer games so I can start playing and tinkering with some map making. BTW, the company I worked for was Matrix/Slitherline. I worked on the Campaign Series Middle East game and was working on the Vietnam game they are currently working on before this clunker laptop actually ate my games. I haven't played anything like a wargame now for almost a year and I miss it.
  4. In 2015 I met a very wonderful woman that is very understanding of all my idiosyncrasies and I have a ton of them. We actually spoke about me getting back into gaming last night and she said that she would be more upset with me if I didn't start playing again as opposed to not playing again. I haven't heard of Darkon. Are they the ones with the ridiculous looking foam swords? I got out of the SCA because we got flooded with a bunch of rhino-hiders and also because it got too political. I was going to rejoin in 2011 before my late-wife passed away and start participating in the group here in Columbia but found out it is royal heavy. Some royals I got along with when I was active, but for most of them, they are just too uppity for my taste. Besides, I miss the fighting and if I tried to start again I would be in the hospital way too much. It is a young man's activity, not a 64 year-old geezer like me. So, I concentrate on my maille jewelry. Well, it seems this thread has gotten off topic and if I stepped on any toes or broke any rules, I do apologize to the moderators.
  5. I have a lot of research to do as far as making maps/scenarios for any of the CM titles. I will just have to see what can and can not be done. Thank you again.
  6. I just purchased the last two books in the World on Fire modern scenario book series. I have permission from the author to convert his scenarios to a computer gaming format. It will take some doing, especially with the European scenarios, but I want to give it whirl once I am up to speed.
  7. BTW Mord, I forgot to include the Arab/Israeli Wars in my wish list. Sorry.
  8. Back in the day, I had over 900 boardgames from SPI/S&T (including all the monster games), TAHGC, Yaquinto, and many other board game manufacturers. I also had a 15,000 piece collection of GHQ and CinC 1/285th scale miniatures (mainly Russian Front). To go with the miniatures, my friend and I, made 3D boards of all the old Squad Leader boards complete with all the buildings and scenery. All of it went bye-bye when my first wife and I got divorced. Probably an investment of well over $10,000 and sold it all for less than $1,000. And then to cap everything off, I joined the Society for Creative Anachronism and became a heavy fighter and an armourer. That is where I learned to make maille which I still do but as jewelry. Oh yeah, and my very first computer wargame was SSI's Soldier for an Atari 800. Now I am dating myself.
  9. Actually, the price of $429.00 was for all the CM2 game titles, not just Shock Force.
  10. Only one problem. When I tried to install the game on this clunker laptop, I used up the other license so I can't install it on the new computer. No problem, I will be absorbed in the Black Sea game and possibly one of the World War II titles until I can get the new Shock Force 2 game and modules. However, thank you for your help. It is appreciated.
  11. Only problem is, is that I forgot my old account information (username and password). But hey, thanks for the heads-up.
  12. Crap, I wish I had an extra $429.00 and then I'd be set.
  13. And if you are married or have a girlfriend, you would probably become a eunuch too. LOL.
  14. Yeah right, Shock not Strike. Shows you how long it's been. I do hope Black Sea is more challenging. Is the new Shock Force any better than the older version?
  15. This is just my wish list for possible Modern CM4 titles or add-on modules for Black Sea. NATO units, including Turkey. Vietnam War (1964-1975), hypothetical conflict between US/NATO forces and the Russian Federation in the Persian Gulf area (maybe include some Iranians to boot), Cold War (1979-1991). I don't want much, do I?
  16. Also, the World on Fire series although you would have to make some adjustments since there are no NATO units, other than the Americans, in Black Sea.
  17. Well, I had Strike Force 1 and all the additional modules that went with it. It seemed that the Syrians were just outmatched in the way of armoured units vs armoured units. I remember one scenario where the Syrians had a massive number of T-72s and wheeled A/Cs and the Americans (me) had about six M1A1 Abrams. I completely wiped out the entire Syrian force in about four turns and only had one of the Abrams tracked. None of the Abrams were outright destroyed.
  18. Shoot, if that is the case then I am more than half-way to the end.
  19. That was one question I had, OpenGL. I have pulled my hair out trying to find the most current version but with no luck at all. I'll check out the discussion you mentioned. Thanks
  20. Good morning, I am sure some of you have visited the Wargame Vault website but for those of you that haven't, you should. This site has a lot of material that would be very useful for all of the Combat Mission titles, including many TO&Es and scenarios for all time periods covered by the Combat Mission series. Here is the link. https://www.wargamevault.com/index.php I hope all of you have a great weekend.
  21. I am purchasing this machine from NewEgg and it is a certified refurbished machine. Price is $519.00. A long-time gaming friend of mine tried to talk me into purchasing a new computer from CyberPower but their cheapest i7 machine is well over $1000.00. My budget is only $600 max and I don't want to blow it all on just the machine. Got to get games to go with this computer.
  22. I think my NVIDIA GTX 1050 has 4 Gb of VRAM. My system RAM is DDR3 but I don't know what the speed is.
  23. Great looking AAR map. If I am able to make maps using the method I did when I made maps for another game, I'll have my walls covered with them. Getting a tad excited. Yes, it does not take much to amuse me but hey, everyone needs a hobby. Right?
  24. Strike Force 1, and I've watched a few of the YouTube videos on these new games. I was also able (on the old machine) to play the demo for CMBN. I don't think I will encounter too high a learning curve, just more of a refresher before I am able to play online vs. someone. Just itching to get my Javelins back (love those toys).
