Read a good point on Twitter. You don't negotiate with putin. Look at Prigozhin who made a deal.

I just do what I would do in real life. Tie a cable around a tree or any other object and use the winch. Oh I don't think this is modelled.

I'm going to play around with the demo and I'll more than likely post here if/when I get stuck. I think I'd learn so much more and quicker if someone could slap me around some and tell me what I'm doing wrong and provide some guidance.
No two players play the same way. My tip 80% but more likely 90% of your game should be handled by the TacAI if you play against the computer that is called the AI. It took me a while before I got this. Your LOS tool is a guide only your TacAI has the last word. Communication with the Command and Control is all important. My home rule is RPG mode. Stands for Role Player Mode I start as the Unit I get when I press the + key on my keyboard. Here is a good link for a home rule by a very good player and scenario designer. To play like this is up to you or modify as you see fit. That's what I did.

Plenty of good players but I like this guy the way he analysis before he starts.

Thanks for confirming. Glad I only spent $3 on BoB then
I'll play around with one of the demo versions and plead and beg for someone to help show me the ropes!
What game are you playing now? Take the two Allies British Commonwealth and the US same system but different tactics. Even US airborne and regular US Infantry Formations you employ differently. Take the soft factors into account. Play the tutorial campaigns and read the briefings carefully.

Pick which one of your units to pair against enemy units. Experiment like AT-Rifles against a Pack 75 for example.

Smoke do it as a rehearsal to test your FO. Really useful when you play Soviet. Spotting rounds go all over the place and with smoke obscuration is always useful in the attack.

Now playing the Germans with lots of 251 halftracks,
Depends on the scenario. With their Panzers come Panzergrenadiers specially trained infantry who compliment their tank formations. Ideally, they are in their halftracks. It was the pioneer of the modern IFV. However, they came in a variety of guises. Some had the 75mm L24 others the 75mm PAK, 81 mm mortars or the troop carrier they were not designed to operate independently. The moment you separate them from their formation you put them in jeopardy. A modern IFV can do a number of roles the German Halftracks depended on the different combinations as required.

She has a long memory this old dear. 103? I would give her 75.

I'm trying to dip my toes into this game (I have the Italy demo) and it struck me....could you AI both sides? Pick the forces and let the AI battle it out.
I play Hotseat against myself to test the effects of supporting weapons. There is no difference between the TacAI the player is using and the computer's AI. I found out with my own eyes most of the time you let the TacAI do most of the heavy lifting. Exceptions for example the Javelin I will plot to use it to eliminate a Kornet ATGM as the TAcAI won't Imo do it automatically.

Savelyev among the SU76's and Maxims he took aim and a Panzerschreck Team was taken out. Snipers don't ignore them. Range 243mtr keep a log how and when they strike. Shot was generated by the TacAI not by the player input.

Here is a technique worth testing that is. Light Area Fire where you intend to ambush once an enemy armor enters your cover arc where you area fired before the first hit probability increases. Which was my subjective impression. Using German armor outside ranges where Soviet armor is not that effective.

It's been a while but I think I recall not so many T34/76s
At the very beginning they do their job by damaging optics and radios and make it more even for the JS2s.

Or maybe it's the Red Queen? believing many impossible things before brekkie?
I gave Britannica as reference but you guys still know better. Italy was beaten because the army really didn't fight their natural allies against their natural enemies the Austrians. Mussolini was overrated by Hitler imagine if they had a beter motivation. The Italians should have been able to be able to win in the Mediterranean but the hearts and mind of the armed forces were not into it. Suez Canal was the objective without it Britain was lost. Afrika Korps compared what they had in the Soviet Union was a sideshow. But the Suez Canal was the price.

The DAK was in North Africa because the Italians invaded Egypt ... and were trounced by the Brits.
The Italians invaded because they were at war with the Allies and wanted some glory they hadn't gained in their faffed invasion of souithern France ... and, of course, because they wanted to retain their colony of Abyssinia (Ethiopia) which could only be accessed through the Suez Cabal or the Straits of Gibraltar (and the latter even Musso probably figured wasn't a realistic aim). It had nothing to do with oil.
The DAK was committed so Italy wouldn't be defeated ... so rthe Vicy colonies in NA wouldn't be threatened, secondarily. Nothing to do with oil.
Yes and Santa Clauss is real.

Tbf even tho that we think it was unrealistic and foolish, does not mean the Germans found the same conclusions, as you note, the German attempt to extract oil from the Caucasus was a failure, but it was a main reason for the Germans in for pushing for the Caucasus.
Just a cut from encyclopedia Britannica

There is no oil in the middle east and there is no oil in the Caucasus. Why do people think WW2 was fought over? The Brits and the Germans fought each other in North Africa because they loved the warmer weather.

There was no oil in North Africa in WW2.
The tech rto drill the Libyan oilwells didn't exist at the time and I am not even sure the existence of oil in Libya was suspected.
The objective was the Suez Canal. Behind Egypt you get? Behind Stalingrad is the Caucasus and also oil.

t’s all about money! The African operations contributes Billions to the Russian government and Putin directly.
Same reason Rommel was in Afrika in WW2 it was oil nowadays more raw materials than we can poke a stick at. Regimes where everybody is corrupt from the Bishop to the Ice-cream seller. Lovely area for the Russians to do business.

The higher you are the harder you fall. Is this true?

The spoils of war In METT-TC C for civilians you just can't lose if you have them on your side.
-
Play Gog Magog in Red Thunder It starts with T34/76 vs King Tigers it is not that one sided as one may think and that is the AI as the Soviets and I was still a noob player.

Not really he will look for the opinion of others. I really know the difference between subjective reality and objective reality.
