What I am not suggesting is frontal attacks ala the Canadian Black Watch on the Scheldt crossing 1200m
It was not only a frontal attack, they flanked the Germans.

The actors are already on strike. You won't distinguish a really person from an AI generated one. It was demonstrated with Morgan Freeman.

It seems most people on this forum are old farts with no interest in the future of making custom made pictures for either their homemade scenarios or ww2 pictures in general with only their interest in the AI technnology provided and their imagination of what a picture could look like to limit their creativity.
What you think about us is none of our business.

Looks very authentic, I just compared them with 1943 photos of Nijmegen.

The briefing only lays out the situation and your mission.
I think it is not always clear to the gamer. I see it as commander's intent. The gamer takes the role of one of the subordinates and is responsible for the execution as he or she sees fit. I think designer's should follow a formula in their briefings to reflect this.

Played the Prophet and the Mountain and still don't know where the prophet was. All the Syrians were casualties.

two bob each way attitude
Two Bob is going to the horse races because it is a social event. You bet on the two best horses so that you don't lose. It was two shillings in the old days or two bob the lowest bet. You back Ukraine well back them for 100% of what they ask for nothing emotional about that. If Russia would think they get away with it they would have gone nuclear right away. After all it saved something like 250000 soldier's lives. They did it because they knew they would get away with it. Something like 140000 Japanese innocent civilian lives was also not nice. Russia usually doesn't make threats they just going for a preemptive strategy. They never made a threat that they would invade.

The other thing is: why do you actually still feel so threatened?
Without assistance they would lose. We are either with them all the way or not at all. Quick enough to invade Iraq, remember the reason? Weapons of mass destruction. Kuwait was not a member of NATO either but to have boots on the ground was reasonable because of weapons of mass destruction. Now Russian has weapons of mass destruction and threatening to use them. Frankly speaking I am absolutely disgusted with all the Two Bob Each Way attitude. Look up what Two Bob Each Way means. It is the West European attitude.

the Netherlands are not exactly on the far side of the Moon either.
They were even closer to Germany and had exactly the same attitude. It is a country of traders and pragmatists.

Russian territory remaining off limits to Western weapons,
Really? It could very well be jargon for the domestic audience.

CMBS may be the weakest game in the series for me too but that's mostly about the lethality of things.
A Battle Pack to update the game is for understandable reasons not considered. In view of this I am puzzled by the purpose of this thread. Is it to design a Battle Pack or even a new game. For myself I went back to WW2 games. I was disappointed with Black Sea to put it mildly.

Good news.

Really?
Yes it was discussed or it was fair to shoot airborne while on their parachutes? That was in the country where I was born. The army was told to surrender while 90% had not fired a shot. The place where they had actually stopped the German army the soldiers were crying. Yes the army was not able to stop the Luftwaffe from bombing cities was the deciding factor. The land forces were not beaten at all Kurt Student the commander of the German Airborne was captured. The surgeon took actually the bullet out of his skull. Good old Kurt carried on afterwards. Using cluster munitions is now next. Ukraine has all the right to use them Imo. Somebody gave the right analogy like dropping a ton of wood on a forest fire in the Donbas. If it saves the life of only one Ukrainian soldier it is worth it. I trust that the Ukrainian army knows what they are doing. It is not by playing CM BS.

You can't argue with facts.

Western European Countries surrendered to the Germans inside weeks. France was the longest. If they had put up a fight like Ukraine does now World War 2 would have ended in 1942. You win wars by not being nice to your enemies.

Thank you. I wasn't aware of the target arce facing trick.
Frankly speaking the game should have a command for pointing the main gun. With the target arc there is a danger that you lose your AFV because the enemy is just outside your target arc. Believe me the arc is never big enough.

I only hope that those energetically supporting the decision now will feel half as uncomfortable when the piper gets paid.
I live very comfortable with the fact that my opinions have zilch influence to the tragic war. They will use it to breach the Russian defenses. I hope it works the message is the tempo to clear the trenches is found wanting. The biggest objection is clusters have too many duds and to clear them post war is the responsibility of the Ukraine.

A picture equals a thousand words.

I hope nobody is here of the opinion that they understand the issue better than the Ukrainian Generals running the campaign in the Eastern Donbas.

Four Fs Find, Fix, Flank and Finish. Blitzkrieg of 1940 was a flanking attack they flanked the Maginot line. It is the function of armor. Flanking is assaulting Imo you can't attack straight on when the suppressive fire unit is behind you.

I think the point is that cluster munitions are not much good at clearing trenches.
Still, DPICM would be very effective against the entrenched Russian formations arrayed in depth that the Ukrainians are trying to overcome, Shoffner said. Because these munitions cover such a wide area, they also require less precise targeting information than Guided Multiple Launch Rocket Systems.
All of the article. They need to breach the Russian trench system.

New systems this could be adapted to clear trenches.
