Vehicle modding sometimes reminds me of working on a car. You can have a task progressing ok but then you fumble a fastener and spend an hour trying to retrieve it from the engine compartment. Like this side hatch pistol port issue. The bmp has the images for the port and starboard sides of the turret BUT also has TWO separate images for the pistol port flaps BUT it seems one is redundant and unused and instead ONE is reversed/mirrored to be both sides. THAT is where you hit a snag. The emergency response for this situation is to use symmetric numerals such as your 0, 1 and 8. Standby...

EDIT: also seen below is the bug reported where the bow mg tracks in z-axis rotation WITH the turret rotation. @Frenchy56 Doctor Frenchy, can you provide any mdr surgery to help this patient? 🙂

I can't replicate the problem on my install, did you do any switching or renaming or?

I thought radios were huge back then.

nope, radios got pretty small by the Vietnam war. The model used in CW would be the same, a PRC 25 or 77.

You can see the spare battery pouch on the left.

I found out some more about this weird issue. It was about when I rapidly click on units, that they start to show their level of detail models, shimmering through.

    1) It only happens when shadows are disabled (Alt-W key). By mistake I had it disabled in Cold War.

    2) CMRT v2.11 has it too, if you disable shadows.

    3) In Cold war it is more noticeable, because the distance models have some things that are leftovers: small pockets in strange places and a backpack instead of a radio.

This is what I see: https://www.imagebam.com/view/MET8Y6

The scale of the equipment is also incorrect. The radio is huuuuuge, the ALICE pouches are too small, same for the compass pouches.

The radio is also missing its frame and spare battery pouch but eh, I'd assume it's a done deal at that point.

Um... JuJu has provided me with the .psd files to carry on the mod (from R2V) and I've been working on the same thing. :D Still working... but got the first pass on all silhouettes and weapon slots completed. I do like your MP3008's though. Tough little blighters to get right. Merge each other's efforts?

I'm also trying to take this opportunity to unify the common elements across all WW2 family titles. I've get no desire to go to the modern titles.

Well, you can just release your own version later, I'm sure it'll be better than mine. You're free to take from what I've done if necessary.

  5. Hello everyone,

I've replaced the crusher cap and the sidecap models with the new M43 cap introduced with F&R. I've also made some changes to the model itself so it looks a bit closer to the real thing, and adjusted some textures as well as introducing new ones. The ones replacing the crusher cap will have officer piping. I've also made Gebirgsjager and Kriegsmarine Coastal Artillery variants.

Drop it in the Data/Z folder. You can remove the parts you don't want, and it should work with the other WW2 games.

    Enjoy.

  6. Hello again, with the release of Fire and Rubble I have been working a lot on adapting existing mods to the new module. That includes the great GUI mod by Juju who has sadly ended support for it.

I have added or adapted weapon icons from other iterations of Juju's mods, as well as branches, ranks, etc. However I will tell you that I have made some changes to it that suit my preference more, so you may have to dig into the files to revert to default.

You said it was a joke ............ so you even view this as funny.

Catch-22 is a book that represents 12th Air Force bomber crews and their mission count with a lot of dark humor. It was written by a 12th Air Force airman. Guess he's the devil.

Bill Mauldin may have made a joke about skipping out on a patrol as well. Down to the pits of hell with him. I do respect the G.I. Joe and I think he was a good guy but I don't treat him like a Greek mythology hero either.

  8. Listen, if you want to gang up on me and make me an American-hater, then go right ahead. What I have to say is that I had no intention in degrading the contribution of the United States during WW2. In fact I spend most of my modding time trying to represent U.S. forces in as authentic a way as possible, mostly unit textures (right now I'm trying to work out how I should distribute HBT uniforms in each division), and I collect U.S. WW2 equipment, original or repro. This was a failed joke and I regret it. Let's move on.

  9. It may not have been obvious due to the format, but it was a joke. I am aware of these great contributions.

The American sentiment on combat was not the most gung-ho you could find however, especially in the ETO. If a Joe could skip out on a patrol he would definitely take the chance, just like how an Air Corps aviator would be concerned about the mission count. I wouldn't call that cowardice either, but I would describe it as an American mindset. The Joe definitely believed in going home as soon as he could, while Germans or Japanese knew they were in the show until they were either dead, crippled or a prisoner. This specific movie (in fact it is THE favorite of mine when it comes to the ETO) James stars in definitely highlights the fact, and I am not saying there weren't any G.I.s who fought valiantly either.

That’s the thing, BFC has yet to make more than one set of skins per belligerent faction in all its titles. This would be a new thing from them. And now that I think of it, pretty easy mod to do (the cold face look, that is).

The gloves (hands) are part of the face texture. So that's false.

They simply made the face redder when they added the gloves. You can see it in CMFB and CMFI.
