Yep, agree. This is pretty cool.
Shouldn't the flag on the right sleeve usually be under the combat patch though?
-
Yep, I had a small thought about that, but shots coming in at that angle would be quite rare anyway.
If it bothers anyone you can just remove the transparent second texture.

Excellent Frenchy, you just got to have a place to put the liberated Cognac.
Out of curiosity, did you use some existing mesh in the vehicle mdr or import another mdr or start from scratch?
If you couldn't guess I used the box from the Sherman IC Firefly

What I mean by that is that I improve on stuff that's already in the game. I don't try to make entire new theaters, that's your deal really.

Hello everyone, after getting an idea and spending most of my night putting the iconic turret stowage bin on every British Sherman in CMBN, here it is:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/552xj6xe8aleibv/British+Sherman+storage+boxes.rar/file
The storage box itself has its own texture. The second texture for each of them is transparent so they don't show up on every tank. It uses the same template as the Sherman IC turret texture so if you want to modify it, you can replace it with another Sherman IC Firefly turret texture.
The retextures I'm using are not included (they're from Aris and DKC's wonderful 21st Army Group mod). The included storage box texture is the vanilla one.

Nope, I don't think I can make one that would satisfyingly look like a KP-31.

Cool work with the equipement! Now the us-paras in CMFI and CMFB are looking soooo wrong
I'am curious: Do you use a new model for the helmets? The helmet-textures (I think of the 82nd) are looking different to the normal ones....
Yeah, I would share them however I'm not the one who decides that. I left the textures in there by accident.

Pathfinders often spraypainted their uniforms but they weren't the only Airborne soldiers to do it. Not even the only G.I.s to do it in fact.

This blog has a few interesting articles on that.

That very kind of you !
They are more real with a touch of used by the time !
Did you have also similar for the USA, I don t think that I can do it so in the details ?
Sure I can share what I have for CMBN US.
https://www.mediafire.com/file/n4e6q0if3ya72f1/US+Gear+CMBN.rar/file
This also removes haversack models but keeps musette bags for airborne troops. Chinstraps are also exclusively attached at the back of the helmet.
Airborne gear has also been realigned properly with the belt, and "rigger" pouches were added. For Holland some cartridge belts were thrown in the mix. In order for these changes to take effect you need to make the troops use 82nd or 101st Airborne appearance in the scenario editor.
I have also added a pistol magazine pouch to the holster model, G.I.s armed with the carbine received another ammunition pouch on their belt.

As I said I just use Lucky Strike's helmet covers. Oakleaf, planetree and blurred edge should do fine. Helmet covers did not come in peadot.

I was more talking about the uniform and the rest but probably, I talk loud when I dream, in fact I dont know If I was saying something...
You want them? I'll upload them to mediafire real quick. They're Vein's CW uniforms, I changed the color of the gear myself. The normalmaps are accentuated with a custom shader I found in 37mm's modpack.

I've uploaded his textures for CMBN/CMRT on Mediafire
https://www.mediafire.com/file/6apwrcwcz0x0f9h/EZ+German+skin+compilation+CMBN+CMRT.rar/file
You can find his textures for CMFI here:
-
The one on the right is the peadot uniform from EZ's Waffen-SS skins. Unfortunately the page which conveniently included all the download links to the latest versions of his German skins was deleted from the repository and seems to be lost. I have them all on my hard drive and I should be able to reupload them somewhere.
I use helmets from Vein's German Uniform mod (which isn't available publicly either...), the one on the left specifically is taken from CMFB's vanilla textures. For SS helmet covers I've taken a few from Lucky Strike's helmet mod.

The Sten Mk. III was added with both stock types. There was also a little adjustment on the British stock texture to match the color to the rest of the gun.
Download the new version here:

Enjoy!

Nice. Thank you, Frenchy! (Will this work in other titles with Brits like CMFI?)
yes, it will work in any title which has the same weapons
-
I decided to play around a bit more with this and added a British production skeleton stock as opposed to the game's Canadian production wire stock, and made them appear ready to fire with the bolt open.

I added the iconic front grip for the paratrooper Sten. I also made the gun slightly bigger since it seemed a bit small to me and did the same to the Sten Mk. II.
Download here:

Point of note, the animations included will change all weapons which use the Thompson animations so you can modtag them or take them out if it's an inconvenience.

Well, Phil. I don't know what to say apart from great job! I don't think I would have found that out by myself.

yes, it is in progress to put some stuff in CMRT and CMFB.
So, maybe in another title the PSW231 mdr file is working correctly. Calling Doctor Frenchy!!! @Frenchy56
CMRT's model seems to be working properly. Here it is:

My god, you´re a busy bee, Phil! Another modding project?
I am really curious about which soviet vehicles you are going to use for a Barbarossa project. I see no way to make many of those early vehicles - or what?
Your post had me looking at the old german vehicles (24th PD) we made for the Stalingrad project. Here are some of them - but I guess you already have them?
The Pz IV in your picture is not mine. I am pretty sure it is Nigel´s. As is the one below, but a different version.
I think I made a short barreled version of it myself. But I cant find it right now. Shouldn´t be too hard to make, though.
You should grab the StuG III F/8 from CMFI instead. Looks more similar to the early short-barreled StuGs.

Surprised to see the officer has a revolver. Someone modded the Brits in CMSF with rolled up sleeves, so that must be possible.
The rolled sleeve mod is a texture trick. Whoever made it just textured skin on the sleeves. It doesn't really look good to me.
-
There's no uniform like that that I've seen. I'd say drop the rolled sleeves. To get jackboots only you only need to replace the ankleboot uniform model with the jackboot one, you might have to replace the ankleboot texture as well.
You need either M36 or M40 pattern uniforms with some having the gas cape on the chest as well. I was contemplating doing that for some time with Ez's uniforms, so something might come out soon.
T-55A Modelling Error?
in Combat Mission Cold War
Posted · Edited by Frenchy56
Here's a couple "fixed" models if anyone wants them. The file includes a T-55A model with the KTD-2 removed and a T-55 model with the DShK AAMG removed as per the menu icons (I've tested it in game and the loader will still fire the AAMG even though it's invisible...).
https://www.mediafire.com/file/285ffemz7n3cjem/T-55+fixes.rar/file
Also, it seems that there's two kinds of loader's hatches on the T-55s. Can you enlighten me on what the variants correspond to? I imagine the flatter one is from the early models.
In the game they both have the higher cupola.
