Third party antivirus tends to increase the threat surface area of whatever system it's installed on, ironically making them even more vulnerable. Plus the third party antivirus will also have their own vulnerabilities.
There are also no protections against zero-day exploits. The system needs to be actively supported in order to close them, which windows 7 will not be since it's been abandoned by Microsoft.
wrong .

How can you suggest that when it's been abandoned by Microsoft, meaning it no longer gets security updates?
it doesn't need to if you have another anti virus that gets updates!!!

Good to see progress been some time.
As always with every patch don't forget to move or save your z folder first

There are security issues that Win7 just isn't prepared for. Especially CPU level. And consumers are the absolute biggest problem in cybersecurity. Most big malware and ransomware attacks are done from consumer PCs that the owner doesn't even know are compromised. Win7 absolutely cannot begin to know how to protect itself from those chip-level attacks. That has to be done at the chip level in conjunction with the OS. No third-party AV software or self-help site will fix that. Cyber-criminals drool over unprotected thermostats and Win7 PCs still connected to the internet.
Thats not even talking about GPU driver support completely going away and the lack of Win7 support for DX11 and DX12.
Don't forget strong anti-viruses / network protections are available for Win7 still, so playing older games is still good. There are ways to play without the UI anyways. multiplayer can be risky possibly, but people who still use Vista and even XP for older single player games and programs have managed with no problems.

In about 4 months, steam is no longer going to support Windows 7 users come January 2004. I don't know exactly if you can still play through the UI or how it will effect the play-ability of your games. I know there are still many users here with that system. Expect the worst. Many users extremely angry.

To HELL with Steam, they are ending support for WIn 7 in about 6 months.

Did they use the M4A1 sherman R3 flame thrower on the beach or just off the beach landings? Possible DD float tank?

So... Any news?
It's the norm.. They say something will release in 6 months but it turns out to be 2 or more years later. I'm beginning to think it won't be released at all now.

Ahhh crap, I think I forgot to remove the Z folder when I installed the patch. @BFCElvis don't worry about this. It's probably good old user error on my part. My game saves were in the orders phase, but I forgot to remove Z folder before patch install.
Thanks you saved my Z folder!

On 2nd thought it looks like they just filled the top where grenade goes with junk weight and launched it.

Never saw this video before, troops use m1 carbine to launch time fused (airburst) grenade across river somewhere in late war.
apparently it isn't braking the carbine..

Hopefully there will be some 88 gun emplacement paratrooper assault missions for the early Normandy stuff. If not would be super easy with editor.

How much we have to wait until we see the release of a single combat mission ww2 title on steam , at least bring us one game than add the tournament feature as a seperate update ,if it continue like this it will take years for full release of cm ww2 titles on steam bring us at least an aporoximate release date for battle for normandy or at least red thunder
Yeah this is crazy!

yeah 37mm gun underrated. Good for trucks, troops, light tanks and half tracks. And everything else if you sneak up behind it.

The tank crew keeps a shell in the barrel ready to fire
The commander tells gunner which shell to keep loaded in breach for quick fire AT, smoke or HE ?
road march to battle carry
Imagine how difficult it was to pick which shell to keep in the breach.
Do I carry a loaded a HE or AT? Then if you see a tank with HE in barrel he can you eject or have to fire that first? and load an AT round all while enemy tank is sighting you up.
These things were excellently displayed in Close Combat series of games.
It's all really skill level of crew.

Hopefully not too long or all the niche game fans will leave or forget about it

Already have this non steam but to new players good way to get it seen.

Will landing craft be in?

I just realized guys, if someone wanted to they could now make an insanely large multi module campaign following a whole division from the beaches right through Germany when the next blitz module comes out.
-
beautiful. Had a relative visit beaches recently and Normandy in the summer is amazing.
-
I enjoy the quick battle maps as that is what I mainly play. Also standalone battles.
Do you think we will get beaches?
-
Looks like it is now slated for around end of the year for sure. Set your calendar reminders!
