By the way, yes, how did the German farmers feel about this ? Have they been compensated for their losses ?

    HUSKER2142,

Since you listed a pack by what seems to be a 7-liter fluid volume, is this pack the Russian equivalent of the US Camelbak hydration system?

    Regards,

    John Kettler

No, alas Russian army does not have this piece of equipment included, if anyone needs to buy it at their own expense. This became especially widespread after the start of Syrian campaign. A girl gave me a long time ago, a very cool thing. The backpack that you asked about plays the role of a "DRY BAG" in it conveniently accommodates various elements of combat and camping equipment, such as a wearable survival kit, reconnaissance and surveillance equipment, additional ammunition, ration pack, etc.

I hope I correctly translated "DRY BAG", in Russian it is "СУХАРНАЯ СУМКА" - SUKHARNAYA SUMKA.

    P.S.

But 99% of the personnel get by with flasks and ordinary bottles. The fact is that young people, after watching films, go and buy hydrators. Where ? That's right, in the nearest local "Voentorg" - (military store ). Some Chinese junk for 10-15 bucks from "AliExpress". It is clear that this f ... does not live long, it breaks and flows. As a result, the fighter who has not heard about "Source" and "Camelbak" begins to think and say that all hydrators are unreliable ****.

I apologize in advance for the foul language.

To CMRT timeframe these tanks were enough rare in front units and used in fights for Tallinn and Vyborg, which out of CMRT "geography".

Too bad, the Churchill is my favorite western tank during WWII. Maybe someday we'll go back to the early years on the eastern front.

  5. BAE Systems has presented an infographic on its light tank being created as part of the Mobile Protected Firepower project. Compared to the old M8 AGS, upgraded BAE MPF turret with widened sides for the installation of the Iron Fist. The power plant, fire control system and vetronics were also upgraded on the machine. BAE MPF is armed with a 105mm M35 cannon and a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun. The crew consists of a commander, gunner and driver. The tank is powered by a new MTU diesel engine with an Allison 3040MX transmission.

I believe, but not with such almost "lightspeed" reaction from detection to shot. To detect, recognize, assume a decision to fire, make measures, make voice commands to gunner/loader and (or) driver, they must react on orders, prepare to fire, aim, shot - all this in less than 3 seconds? Also this is touching not only the armor, but infantry too - look at CMSF2 topic, when discussed the same problem with many examples. Pair of scouts, which can not only spot, but also recognize enemy infantry in the trees from 3 km, having only rifle thermals - how it possible if AN/PAS-13 v1 sight for rifle has about 800 m of effective range?

I completely agree with what was said, it would be worth working on this.
In general, I hope that someday we will see CM during  Cold War of the 70s and 80s with a hypothetical collision, without an exchange of nuclear strikes. When thermal imagers had just begun to be installed on armored vehicles.
