Wow! That is quite a map. Thanks for taking the time to make it!

I've been busy with work, but just got started on the third mission and it is a tough one so far. The map is wonderful. So far I think this is possibly the finest CM campaign I've played. Amazing work as usual!
Now if we can just get a George MC CMBS campaign...

Wow 24 kills and 3 dead IFVs...not bad for a recoilless rifle team. Mine usually tend to not survive that long after making contact with the enemy. For far were they away from kill zone?

Right in the thick of it!

Count me in for playtesting!

@ChudacabraHow hard the missions are does depend on how ell you do on the previous. There are several branches. I'm not sure which one you ended up on but if you had tanks then you are on the alternate branch. And yes that one is hard as the Soviets have warning your coming so have bolstered their defence.
Re infantry - you have what you have I'm afraid. That's the point behind the campaign is you command a single company of SPW equipped panzergrenadiers. You need to look after your men.
My top tip FWIW: you don't want to lost panzergrenadiers needlessly in this. The campaign models 72 hours of near continuous combat - there are no infantry or armour replacements and depending on who well, or how badly or what decisions you make you might also start to run low on ammo. In such a short time frame that sort of thing just did not happen. I think this campaign is very unforgiving of losses, so might not be everyone's cup of tea. You can blow this in one poor mission where you lose lot's of grenadiers...
In RL German SPW units suffered very heavy casualties very quickly - on account of the type of missions they were usually given. This is one such unit. Further down the line you get some support from your sister kampfgruppe so you can get them to do some of the heavy lifting, for a change!
I think the third battle could be a decisive one for you. Good luck!
Great! I really appreciate this level of detail. One minor suggestion is to perhaps make this very explicit in the first briefing. I just finished the second mission and fared quite well outside of early infantry loses. Let's see how the third mission treats me.

The second battle is a tough one. I was a bit careless with my infantry, but still have all my tanks. I would probably prefer more infantry over tanks as reinforcements, maybe some flamethowers for good measure.
-
Well, you can just use your mouse to scroll around the map. The controls for units are fairly complex, but not exactly rocket science. The demo scenarios are both great, give those a shot.
-
I'm nearly done the first battle and it's really great so far. A wonderful, detailed map as usual with a well-balanced force at your disposal. I wouldn't recommend any changes so far.

Hmm, I think I would be interested in a large QB, but I'm not entirely sure how well suited this map is to H2H play. I think the lack of Russian tanks on the far side would make things very difficult if the Ukrainians fielded an armour heavy force. It may just be a map fit for a excellent scenario in my view, but I will certainly watch a DAR if one comes about.
-
This looks great! Do you have any restrictions on the armoured units you can field? I imagine the Russians will be at somewhat of a disadvantage without being able to get tanks to the far bank.
-
The fact that it is generating a 'buzz' is good all round. In my battles Im slowly getting whittled down... thats as the Germans and the Americans!!
Ditto. But I think I've drawn a fair share of blood!
-
I think it's probably the most Starcraft-like battle I've played in CM. It feels very gamey, BUT it's been really fun and challenging, and my battles are still sort of up in the air. I've certainly made my fair share of sloppy mistakes (too much movement without fire is very bad). There's a certain wackiness to it that I enjoy, although at the same time I'm immensely glad that CM offers a vast range of well-designed scenarios.
-
FYI...
I apologize for the delay, but v3 of the Spartan Resolve campaign has been uploaded to The Scenario Depot III. Corrections were made regarding the scoring for some of the scenarios and all of the AI plans were upgraded. Should be a "little" harder!
Also, v2 of the Mod pack has been uploaded to CM MODS III.
And there is a new scenario as well, a SOF mission related to the campaign entitled Operation Relentless Fury. That scenario has been uploaded on The Scenario Depot III as well.
GET SOME!
Should be appearing soon at The Scenario Depot III and CM MODS III.
I just played through Operation Relentless Fury and it is extremely tough. I managed to get all the objectives, but my more Ukrainian force got annihilated by BTRs on the way out. My other force got stuck in some ditches with a tank covering their exit zone.

I prefer CMFI over CMRT. While I like RT, I don't enjoy playing as the Russians all that much and generally preferred the early war Eastern front scenarios from CMx1. I like CMFI because the forces are fun, and the maps generally provide a lot more variety than just bogs and fields.
-
If you're looking for larger scenarios, Lights, Camera & Action is great fun. Bridgehead at Kharalyk is also great as a medium to large scenario. Going to Town is a very challenging urban fight on a small map (I wish CMBS included more urban battles). The Russian campaign is also particularly good. I think Crossing the Dneiper might be the best single-player battle I've played in any CM game. It's at least the most cinematic.
Some of the rebels and Ukrainian battles, like Debaltseve Devils, are good too if you're looking for more scrappy forces
-
Have you tried the CMBS demo? I think CMBS is my favourite CMx2 game, but a well designed battle in any CM game (particularly when fought against a human opponent) is what makes the series interesting. The Russian campaign is also particularly good if you're looking for single player.
-
This looks like a great battle. Is it available for download?
-
If the Battlepack sells well will we get more? It seems like low hanging fruit to me (not that I want to make light of Jon's labor).
I would definitely pay for more scenarios for any CMx2 games. I was incredibly impressed with the Russian CMBS campaign and would love to see more of that caliber from Battlefront.
-
One thing I would expect in a conflict against NATO is a much greater number of ATGMs than is represented in the game. The anti-tank capabilities of a Russian infantry platoon are unfortunately rather lacking.
-
Yet again, a great DAR on both sides!

I too will sign up, but my account needs to be approved.

Sorry there's no sound. An Abrams takes on most of a T-90 company at close range.

I'm currently playing a PBEM on the fantastic River of Tears map (an amazing piece of work), which has so far been a showcase of things exploding.
A Bradley spots a T-90...
