  1. Thank you Fizou and Michael. You have been extremely helpful.
  2. I completely agree that it should be release when it's done. I'm all for that. My beef is that if you put an item up for pre-order, you should give an estimated release date. However, if they always get their games done in 4-6 weeks then that's good enough. I am new to this company, so I don't know their track record. I am very interested in getting started with a Combat Mission game, though. I would really appreciate any advice on what game to get first to start learning and enjoying? I am leaning towards Normandy. How is it nowadays with all the updates? Does it have a good tutorial? Is it using the latest game engine and graphics, decals, UI, etc? Thank you in advance for any assistance!
  3. When is this really coming out? Is it normal for this company to open pre-orders for a game, and not give us a release date? That does not seem like excellent customer service.
  4. Thanks again, Bill. I posted in the original thread that started this whole tutorial thread. These explanations are VERY helpful to someone like me coming into your games for the very first time. This is such good stuff, it should be added to the manual next time you update it. I look forward to the Storm over Europe scenario!
  5. Bill - I just saw this post, and took a look at your interface tutorials. This is outstanding! I truly appreciate your effort in making these. You have jumped to my short list of awesome developers that I will follow and support wholeheartedly. I am happy to help idiot-proof the game. If (when) I run across anything else that I don't understand, I will post more noobie questions. Thanks again! -=Jeff
  6. Thank you for the response, Hubert. My next question is about ships. I am playing the Jutland scenario, and my ships have a 10 on them, which is their strength. There is also a small circled 1 next to the strength. What is this? I thought it might be the number of strikes the ship has left, but then I attacked and the 1 stays there. Thanks!
  7. Thanks Wolfe. You are very helpful. Nope, I click S and see one set of supply, then immediately click S again and see a different set of supply. I wish the designer would chime in and explain why the manual is missing so much information for new players. This is very disappointing to have paid top price for these games, and the manual does not tell me how to play and what things mean. I'm sorry to keep repeating myself, but I have very little tolerance for poor manuals, especially for games of this complexity.
  8. To follow up on supply: I press the 'S' key, and I see a matrix of supply values. I press the 'S' key again and I see a different matrix of supply values. What is the difference? It sure seems like the manual assumes you already know how to play the game.
  9. Yes, that helps. Thank you very much. So, what is a good amount of supply? I see the maximum is 10. What are the adverse effects if a unit has less than 10 supply? Why isn't this stuff in the manual? Is there a document or tutorial somewhere that can be helpful for me to learn the game?
  10. I have browsed through the manual, but I find it does not really tell you much about using the interface, or what some information displayed on screen means. 1. What do the small circled numbers in city squares mean? Is this the MPP you get if you take the city? 2. What does SA mean in the combat prediction data you see when you select your unit and hover over an enemy unit? 3. What does SD mean in the same screen? I'm sure I will have more questions, but I'm at work now and cannot look at the screen. This is just what I came up with really quick. Is there a better document that helps new players actually learn how to play? The manual is filled with information, but I don't really see much on exactly how to use the interface or what stuff I see means. Thanks!
  11. Thank you! That answers all my initial questions. Now I just have to learn how to play the game. It does look like a ton of fun, though.
  12. I just purchased SC-WW1 and the Breakthrough combo pack. I have two separate executables, which launch their games separately, so I have a couple questions. This is my first Battlefront purchase, so I'm a brand spanking newbie here. 1. The main menu screen of SC-WW1 shows it is v1.06. Breakthrough shows it is v1.0. Are these the latest versions of both? 2. Why do I have two separate executables? Aren't the two games supposed to be integrated into one game? Did I install it incorrectly or something? 3. The web page for Breakthrough says it has 20 new campaigns. I see that some of them are the same as SC-WW1 campaigns. So, am I missing some of the new campaigns? 4. How can I tell what campaigns are smaller, less turns, and what ones are larger? Thanks in advance for any help.
