  1. Seems unlikely, developer studios usually don't release on a weekend on account of people not working.
  2. Yeah, back to topic. I have to say, I am at least kind of hyped for the expansion now, haven't played much CM for a bit and looking forward to trying out the new scenarios and campaigns.
  3. I don't care about "civil manners". In fact, with Nazis I prefer them to be quite impolite, then their tone matches their ideology.
  4. Not saying that you are a Nazi for playing the Germans, I am doing that myself. But it is naive to think that there is not a big overlap between historical wargaming communities and nazis. Even in this forum, which is generally more well informed than others, I see the old Cold War myths of "Soviets just overwhelmed the Germans with numbers" and "German tanks were superior" all too often. And in my experience it is not far from that to the old chestnuts of "Nazis and Russians were basically the same" or "They just wanted to protect Europe from communism!" Now maybe I am a bit jaded from having to moderate a discord channel where this crap keeps popping up, but let's just say my view of the wargaming hobby has dimmed a bit in recent month because of this.
  5. Why not? There are a lot of right-wing assholes in this kind of hobby, not to mention just uninformed people with a very rosy view of German military capabilities.
  6. I think I may have asked this before, but: Will the G41 from FI be added as well? It is not in the TOE list, but then again, it isn't even in the R2V manual.
  7. And the OSNAZ forces using them actually got issued with Bazookas and PIATs.
  8. Maybe I can port my Petsamo Kirkenes Campaign over from WinSPWW2 then...
  9. I think that is a Berlin campaign you can play from both sides. They mentioned that earlier. Nice idea btw, but I might go for the Russians first.
  10. One thing I remembered: R2V added the G41(w) rifle, is that also in this expansion?
  11. Another idea: On the eastern front snipers on both sides used explosive ammunition and I think the Germans actually made that official policy early in 45. Could be an interesting option, I know in Graviteam they have that.
  12. One thing that caught my eye: the StG44 is listed as a new weapon for the Germans, even though it already was in the basegame. Oversight or is there some cool new variant?
  13. Nice to see the 20+ Scenarios, that is the stuff I play most.
  14. Nice to ese that the M10 is included. Note that these actually fought at Studienka (the scenario from the base game).
  15. The Russian equivalent of the bazooka was the 45mm AT gun attached down to platoon level.
  16. Cool stuff, looking forward to checking out the scenarios and campaigns.
  17. With all this talk about the new RT expansion, I felt like dusting off CMFI again: The scenario is very good, although the ridiculous finale felt like something from a Tarantino movie more than an actual battle...
  18. Indeed! If you continue watching my videos, you will see that I actually never finished the campaign for that very reason. I had spent a lot of time setting up everything for the historical tactic of just rushing through the town, only to see my force wiped out immediately. Generally the campaign is not one of the better ones, the Peiper campaign in FB is superior to it in many ways. The main problems I saw with the Courage Conquers campaign (From memory): - Repetetive and samey scenarios with little variation or creativity. You have the same kind of forces and objectives almost every time. - Weird map design that is clearly based on real terrain, but uses big city block type buildings and cathedrals instead of the appropriate rural buildings. - Misleading briefing in what is supposed to be the big finale. - Unwieldy and "impersonal" core force with a big tank overhang (this might be historical though)
  19. From my limited experience I can tell you these things have a way of ballooning out of control and I am going to assume that they are not in a position to hire tons of new people for crunch time etc. At the end of the day I don't get impatience, just buy it when it is out (or don't, if it looks crap) and until then play something else.
  20. No the Puma (SdKfz234/2) was only produced in very small numbers (101 in all). It is the most commonly depicted version but also the rarest. It was issued to these units: Panzer Lehr 2nd Panzer, 1st SS Panzer (most lost in Normandy) On the Eastern Front: 20th Panzer Brandenburg Panzergrenadier Divsion
  21. Interesting stuff. One thing regarding the excel table: I doubt they had Pumas, there is a very short list of Panzer Divisions issued with those.
  22. I think in retrospect the best campaign might have been the Raging Bull one, it had cool forces and a nice feeling of "**** is going down" in the final scenario. The Papertiger ones are also quality, but sometimes feel overly "scripted" to me, with too little room for error.
