  1. Russians have been channeling NK really hard for years. Hope their dream comes true and they will get to live in it forever. And I don't mean that as a bad thing. As you know - we, Europeans, do not understand how Russian thinks.
  2. You don't need a monument dedicated to some rapist in the middle of your city to know that rape is bad. In fact having a monument to a rapist makes quite the opposite statement.
  3. You are all taking DMS way too seriously. He is Russian. His problem with NATO is that it prevents his soldiers from raping Poles and Lithuanians, not that it "expands" per se. He is mad about Belgrade because Serbs had to pay for genocide they did instead of being admired as heroes like Russians treat their criminal grandfathers. If Serbs paid - that means Russians may pay too and he can't have that. Because he knows what NATO is. It's a threat to him. But it's a threat not because it will attack Russians but because it will attack Russians when they will try to rape some woman in some NATO country. He has no problem with a "day of a sledgehammer" (that video of a warcrime filmed by Russian soldiers themselves, where they murder a Syrian civilian with a sledgehammer) - because it's something Russians treat as a heroic deed. To him his soldiers murder a Syrian Nazi, aka "the enemy". He will never get what's wrong with it, no matter how much you will try to explain it to him. So don't try to think like a European when trying to argue with Russian.
  4. Russia hijacks nothing, they do have that legacy, it's just that Germany (and West in general) looks at it from the completely wrong perspective. Which is - USSR defeating, or rather being one of the countries that defeated Nazi Germany. That legacy sounds all good and heroic, when you just look at it like that, right? But the thing is - from the Russian perspective they defeated Germany but lost World War 2. Remember - Russian goal was to steamroll busy Hitler and occupy whole Europe. So not doing that and, even worse, losing half of Europe to a very strong NATO alliance - is why they immediately started Cold War. Even worse - instead of a dream of shelling UK across the stream - they first lost everything they gained in 1945 and then lost everything they gained in 1920s. It was almost like a personal insult to many of them. Which is why they crowned a guy, who considered 1991 the worst geopolitical catastrophe of 20th century, not WW1 or WW2. To un-lose WW2. To bring back the empire to at least its 1945 borders (that "we can repeat" slogan is exactly about that, just like the demand for NATO to go back to its 1997 composition so Russia can reoccupy everything it had again) So the hope right now is for the West to finally look at that legacy from the Russian perspective and see all the things wrong with it.
  5. I don't think guilt has anything to do with it. Doing business does. If it was about guilt - Russia would be blasted by sanctions right in 1992, when they started killing people and committing atrocities in neighboring countries. Because that would remind Germans of Nazi Germany deeds, but more so - evils done in GDR. So letting all the Russian evils slide for 30 years, while also actively trying to force Ukraine to surrender and get occupied for the past 8 - is not guilt. It's anything but. After all Merkel, Steinmeier and Schroeder themselves still claim they did nothing wrong, even today.
  6. Why not? USSR is just another name for Russian Empire. They just couldn't call themselves literally that due to 1917 so they pretended it's a willing "union" of republics. Also that was the cool thing at the time to show to the West. Russia never stopped trying to bring back that empire back after 1991, it's in their ideology, they even have soviet anthem. They also have USSR's seat in UN for whatever reason since Russia never asked to be accepted into UN after 1991 so that means every UN country automatically considered Russia a continuation of USSR. All soviet monuments, streets and its faux history is still there. So let's not fool ourselves here. Russia is USSR. Just smaller and even more fascist.
  7. That would be a somewhat legit argument if we are to ignore 1939-1941, when Russians fought Europe together with Nazis. And remember - concentration camps, gas chambers and mass executions were a Russian thing before it became a German thing. And, unlike in Germany, in Russia it didn't stop in 1945. It continued up until 1991 and didn't quite stop since, just took a smaller scale that couldn't be noticed by the West. The difference here is that Germans admitted what they did was evil. Russians are still proud of it. This is also a reason why a "Nazi" to a Russian doesn't mean "a guy that considers his race better than everybody else's and would do evil things because of it" - because in Russian ideology it's OK. After all they came to kill us because we are untermenschen to them. To a Russian "Nazi" means 'enemy'. Because Germans were the only guys in the past ~200 years that managed to beat Russians so hard. So when Ukrainians started resisting hard in 2014 - we immediately became "Nazis" aka The Enemy. This is also why when Israel tried to relate to us - Jews were called Nazi by Russians as well.
  8. Not true. DMS knows full well that NATO is a defensive alliance. And he knows full well how things really are because he has an access to the internet. He is here of all places. On a forum where people scrutinize claims and try to prove things. And even in USSR people knew full well that every russian war was a war of aggression. Word of mouth isn't something you can stop if somebody wants to listen to it. "Protesting in the kitchen" aka whining about state evils at the family table, but silently - was a soviet meme. What DMS does is a russian version of taqiya - lying to infidels to drive his own agenda. Remember - if DMS was just "fooled" by propaganda (which is, again, impossible in an age of information) - he'd still think that killing Ukrainians and stealing our land would be a bad thing. But what he does is excuses the crime. He is in full support of the war.
  9. 12 is 12 more than 0. Plus right now we have no crew to man them anyway. And by the time we do - there will be more sense to send in dozens more. These 12 will most likely be used to train our crews domestically, they won't be on the frontlines for at least a month.
  10. Because you are a westerner. Russians are extremely poor and right now an average salary there is already down to $100 a month, which means poorest guys like this one gets two digits. They weren't better off before their economics went to hell so stuff like cooking oil and whatnot is a real treat to them. It's mindblowing to you, but horrific to anyone sharing the border with russians. Which is why you see any country having one with them in full panic mode. Even a small border like Poland does.
  11. good one, but this one was better https://24tv.ua/u_rosiyi_z_9_travnya_privitali_plakatami_z_natsistami_voni_oglyadayut_pidbitiy_radyanskiy_tank_n1147618 They really have no clue what they are even celebrating at this point, let alone how their soldiers looked at the time
  12. The difference is that Germans had a stomach to admit that their fathers and grandfathers were criminal and did horrible atrocities. Russians made heroes of theirs, even though they were no different. So yeah, while Germany is stained and grandchildren do suffer mostly psychological consequences - nobody will ever argue that Germany is one of the most civilized countries on the planet with a lot of value in human life nowadays. So if a Russian stealing a toilet bowl and raping some Finnish woman in 1940 is a celebrated hero - why can't a guy doing exactly that be considered a hero in 2022? Thus rape and looting isn't bad, saying that rape and looting is bad - is bad. It's how a Germany would've been if the war ended with some kind of ceasefire on the outskirts of Germany. It's how Russia ended up being because it all ended with a ceasefire at their border in 1991.
  13. The irony is that the most brutality supporting church in Russia is Christian. They give out flyers to russian soldiers demanding them to "exterminate Ukrainian nation from the face of the Earth". I'm pretty sure russian muslims say the same things in their meetings but it has to do with them beeing russian, not muslim. Bonus - that "holy image" is of a russian invader that got killed during the first Chechen war. I hope they will have a lot more to put on icons in the months to come.
  14. Oh but there's an idea. Speaking of commies - As Zuganov, which is putin's close partner and the head of russian communist party, have said - "during WW2 nazis killed jews, russians, gypsies and other human filth". That sentence perfectly describes modern russian cargo cult of crossbreeding two friendly ideologies that is supposed to make them great and help them do what Stalin failed to do (aka ending up losing WW2 and not taking whole Europe as was intended).
  15. The problem with DMS is that he finds "dehumanizing" of his soldiers offending, not that his soldiers came to Ukraine to murder and take the land. Invading other country, leveling its cities, murdering its citizens and deporting a million people to Siberia and far east (russian officials themselves confirm this) is not a problem to him. Somebody saying that those things are bad and people doing them are just pure evil is the problem to him. You see where the root of the issue is?
  16. Ah yes, that classic "Crimea was gifted" BS. Thing is - after occupying Crimea - russians were incapable of building anything in it. In 1944, after genocide of tatars, they decided to put russians in there, hoping those will build it up, because Crimea was quite backwards, without any real modern infrastructure. But since russians were doing it - the results were predictable. Crimea in 1954 still looked like most of Russia in 2022. So seeing that the hero of USSR Klim Voroshilov decided to redo borders of occupied countries somewhat. From occupied Ukraine he decided to take our parts of (very well developed) Cuban and instead "gift" us a land that couldn't have anything grown on it due to the lack of water. It should've been a BS deal Ukraine was forced to take, impossible to un-F. Naturally in the modern russian propaganda they couldn't blame Voroshilov, who was in charge of USSR after Stalin's death, because that would go against their ideology upgrades, as Voroshilov was a badass rapist and looter during WW2, probably had a toilet or two stolen from Poland, you know - the kind of guy russians respect - so they decided to blame it all on Khruschev for whatever reason even though he wouldn't be anywhere near the throne for at least half a year. And, of course, in 1991 russians were very upset that a land they occupied and did multiple genocides on suddenly was in a far better shape than parts of their country that haven't seen war for at least 300 years.
  17. Clearly you can see this photo was taken in the same building where they filmed the lunar module landing. And the note on the back? OBVIOUS. My god those MI6 are damn lazy - they were trying harder during Napoleonic wars.
  18. And that's exactly why you are becoming an outcast to the rest of the world and your main tourist attraction will end up being Pyongyang at best. Instead of taking responsibility for atrocities your army commits and doing something about it - you are trying to excuse and whitewash them, making you literally an accomplice to everything your soldiers do.
  19. zein means penis in hebrew, but let them keep at it
  20. That's because your western mindset refuses to believe the barbarity of russians. What seems like something out of a horror movie to you and thus not real - is an absolute norm there. Russia today is what Nazi Germany would've been if it only half-lost the war like Russia did.
  21. Zakharova: "it won't be something that Israeli politicians that started this info campaign, would want to hear [...] that Israeli mercenaries are fighting back to back with "Azov". Oh god, they aren't stopping.
  22. As discussed before to a russian the term "nazi" doesn't mean what it means to the rest of the world. So of course gullible people in countries yet to be invaded were like "if Russia screams about nazis on every corner - are there really nazis in $victim_country_name$?" But to russians a "nazi" is literally anyone who refuses to submit to russian toilet-looting master race. And Russia is doing its best to make sure everybody knows that now.
  23. Guess if you already started digging - you gotta keep digging deeper russians now directly accuse Israel of supporting neonazis
  24. that's just 600 visually confirmed losses. More than 1000 claimed by our army is way more likely.
  25. Their propaganda will have a hard time beating Lavrov's "Hitler was a jew" that made even Israel angry
