Has the squad marksmen completely lost all sense of self preservation in v1.01? I've noticed he has a frightening habit of standing in the middle of a road attempting to take on overwhelming forces for little to no gain. In fact it seems that after the patch, in my experience, he now seems to only shoot from the standing position. For example.. I was fast moving the squad to a farm house to get them in some cover. I had two other squads providing covering fire which, more or less, seemed to be working within reason. All of a sudden, John Rambo has own self armed with nothing more than a bolt action springfield, decides he's going to stop in the middle of the road and engage two sandbagged MG positions. He actually managed to survive around 45 seconds, largely due to the aforementioned covering fire. The rest of his squad, quite wisely, continued running on to the house and all except Pvt. Rambo made it. This sort of thing seems to be happening a lot after the patch. That and like I said, I've also noticed he no longer seems interested in shooting from cover. thoughts?

Well it seems we've completely wrecked the german server on worthplaying cause its locked and I'm stuck with filefuchtory and their blistering 50kbps speeds. Takes me back to when I dl'd the first Demo over a decade ago... I was getting about the same.

Wodin, the US link isn't a complete file, thats the problem. Look at file size.. its about 200mb short.

I'm guessing the german mirror is overloaded. After clicking the link, it just hangs. Filefactory... well lets just say it might be quicker for me to drive to Steve's house and ask for a hard copy of the demo.

The error message is: "CRC Failed in CMBN_Demo Setup-1d.bin Unexpected end of Archive" 3rd attempt

Downloaded from the US mirror... twice. (yeah I know I'm not supposed to try to) Don't do it, the files are corrupted from the US mirror.

So far the "worthplaying" site is far faster. I'm getting 2.3Mb/sec from them and only about 50-70Kb/sec from the "filefactory". I've installed it... and its gorgeous. I'm going to try the US training mission at max settings. I'm running... I7 920 quad 13gb DDR3 ram Win7 Home 2xnvidia 9800's SLI'd

"maybe they are being extra specially careful this time to ensure the released product is as stable as can be." In a far more extreme example, I'm sure the folks making Duke Nukem have been thinking the same thing. We haven't even seen a demo yet. I'm betting it'll be closer to July 4th than May 15th for a release. The lack of a demo really concerns me since if its as close to done as they say it is, a demo should've been out weeks ago.

In anticipation of CMBN I loaded up SF and... can't find my Key. I've searched my email for the key to no avail. Is there anywhere I can contact that would have a record of the purchase? I bought it back when it released and I do specifically remember getting it via download as its the first game I had ever purchased that way. Any help would be great, hope I'm not SOL. :eek:
