Does anyone know if blue on blue is modelled btw? Just curious as I suppose it lets you know how close you can cut it. I'm sure the HE is but I mean more along the lines of deliberate target select etc by the pilots.

Aiming has to be a PITA with that big ole' helmet he's wearing, but I got to say he might still want to deploy the sights if he expects that thing to do anything for him
oh and he'll want to learn how to hold it right as well.

I enjoy Star Wars and many other sci-fi/fantasy themed things for the simple reason that none of it is based on historical fact. That said, when I say I wouldn't mind seeing a sci-fi based mod I mean involving future tech but based on some sort of established rules. Oh, and no mythical stuff like being able to toss around the futures equivelent of Panthers across the field just by waving your fingers all Yoda-ass like on it. Cool to see, yeah probably...fun to have to wargame someone with a platoon of Yodas, yeah probably not. I mean the only defense I can think of would be TubeGuy.

I'm gonna go with #1 in that someone will start the download and after about 20 seconds later post in here complaining that the download takes too long. Because of that I'd like to see option #8 for less than 30 seconds please which is what I'd vote for.

What's wrong with Star Wars M. Emrys? I'm not talking about the movies either...that I can see people having convulsions over but I've always found the whole Star Wars franchise pretty cool in how well fleshed out it is.
I also would love to see a Star Wars mod or any sci-fi theme tbh played out. Odd saying this but I'd like to see something I could realistically play out using regular troops and equipment of various factions with real numbers (sorta) backing it up.

BANG BANG BANG ....... " oh. he ... ummm blinked, yes that's it, he blinked in an aggressive way, now where's his missus? "
I was joking with my coworkers about that today as a matter of fact.
Navy Seal- SHOW ME YOUR HANDS!! SHOW ME YOUR HANDS!!
Former #1 Terrorist- *Raises hands over head*
BANG BANG
Navy Seal- ...WTF, I said don't move dumbas...errr, oh well, you know what I mean.

Name 3 reasons please?
Oh! Oh! That's an easy one!!
Reason #1 - Lagers
Reason #2 - Ales
Reason #3 - Draughts
I find those very compelling reasons myself.

I wouldn't mind launching Seinfield into orbit, that guy annoys the F outta me.

Thanks for the update. Now I can work my weekend without wondering if I am missing anything.

I've just learned to adapt. I play a wide variety of games which means a lot of different control styles. If I like a game enough I learn how to use the interface just through sheer use. I'm to lazy to think up possibilities of maybe there being easier ways to do said chores I mean I honestly do live by the work smarter not harder approach but I don't kid myself when I am sitting at the PC, drink in hand and debating the best way to send more poor virtual troops to their death under the illusion that I had something figured out. I don't exactly call playing a game hard work But to each their own.

True enough, I mean you only need to look at who is running the country to see who is setting the standard
ps- no offense intended towards any of our Italian brothers on the forum. Between Hollywood and Congress over here we're not exactly running a church.
-
Had to do some looking up on that but yeah, seems the whole AA thing for the Army was a black hole as far as money went back then.

You and me bud, I'm contemplating sneaking downstairs later tonight to peek at the PC

True enough
but I'll top ya....go drive in Italy
I don't know why they bother painting lines on the roads out there I swear.

Hehe, I work for the state now and did federal time as well and that reminds me of the following joke.
When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered that ballpoint pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat the problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 billion to develop a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside down, underwater, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to 300 C. The Russians used a pencil.
Nothing about this joke is true of course but every joke does have an element of truth to it.

The game comes pretty much 'pre-modded', they did everything up-front that you would've wanted to mod if they had cut corners. But they didn't cut corners. An enterprising soul could always dirty-up the vehicles more. And I'm assembling some plain yellow vehicles and weapons for Repository for anyone wanting to try their hand at different camou schemes.
Oh, one cool thing. You may have noticed in the 'flavor objects' on page 122 of the manual theres 4 sets of wall posters. One set French building plaques, then German military signage, German propaganda posters, then French commercial posters. Those posters can be swapped-out or added to. Put your ex girfriend's photo on a poster then blow up the building with battleship artillery.
Wow, color me impressed.

Amazing how many adults (yes, using that term very loosely here) have been reduced to being like eight year olds on the 24th of Dec.

Ah well good to see you are “standing by” to “standby”.
I've always been partial to "hurry up and wait" myself.

You can drop At guns into trenches. Not quite the same as yard-thick concrete I'll admit but FOW trenches supposedly lower hit probability to mimic below-ground earthworks. I'm not so sure about foxholes. You can place the gun among foxholes which your crew might appreciate. but I don't know if the gun itself recieves the same lowered hit probability got from trenches.
About Borg spotting of AT guns. Just last night I managed to lose three Shermans to an unseen AT gun. It wasn't til the game was over that I finally located the darned thing.
Sorry somehow missed your response...think it got buried in the "are we there yet are we there yet are we there yet" threads
That is outstanding to hear. That's exactly how they should work imo.

First game ever that was sort of a tactical game was on an Apple II GS
Battletech: The Crecent Hawk Inception
for those that are curious. After that was the familiar stuff - Panzer General, Silent Hunter, Steel Panthers, Close Combat etc.

Hey now, I enjoy my Star Wars for what it is. That said, I'd love to see a Star Wars mod for BF as crazy as that sounds. Basically something that gets the same attention to detail. I mean come on Boba Fett versus a Tiger

I'm not sure what the difference between randomly generated maps that you select variables for versus hundreds (assuming down the road) of premade randomly picked maps that you just select variables for as well? So where's the problem? Not trying to come across as a jerk here, but it sounds like you guys are discussing whether to make 4 left turns or 4 right turns to circle the block.
-
I completely 100% understand and respect that. That said...you guys are aware no matter how hard you scrutinize this thing, something will be found by the thousands of people playing it once they get their hands on it.
As Mr. Smith said, "It is inevitable."

I'd say you're right. Find them very similar to Grenadiers from the 17th century except a healthy dose of political indoctrination went into them which is pretty much SOP for anyone looking to make an 'elite' organization. Go ahead and try to tell an Airborne Ranger he's not 'elite' The humble ones won't, but they'll do their best to PT you into dust anyways for even asking.
I find using the elite status to be much easier to apply to smaller organizations like SEALs etc since man for man they are superior to other organizations of the same size, there's just no way to compare them size wise fairly tbh. Now once you start talking Division size units it starts to get tricky imo and throwing around the elite label is pretty suspect which is why you get so many varied stories about effect of said unit. At that point it all starts to come down to leadership imo. Gear will only get you so far. But combine great gear, superb leadership and training and the ultimate teacher experience and you'll have a damn good group as long as the situations they face are favorable. By that I mean you could have the greatest group of fighting formations in the world but if some guy going crazy starts giving horrible orders and placing units wholesale into meatgrinders...well the only elite thing you'll have going for you is quickest accumulation of tombstones acquired. Elite does not equal bulletproof afterall.
But yeah, remind me of Grenadiers. They got the pick of the litter for soldiers, first dibs on gear and had the elan of being told they kicked butt the hardest. Once they got a bit of practical experience under their belt I am sure they were something to be reckoned with until they got their nose bloodied up at which point effectivess suffers and they have to start over.
