They meant september of next year!

But he's just said if pre-order people are unhappy they can just get a refund from support, Steppenwulf. That covers all those points, surely? -
Don't post Combat Mission on Steam.

This has certainly been the funniest thread I've ever read in here. Thanks (Mord, in particular, the Ikea manuals jibe especially..) -
CMBS Rolling thunder do is difficult.
peter thomas replied to Sandokan's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
I also just finished playing this through and it was a really absorbing 3 hours or so worth of gameplay. Really enjoyed it. ***SPOILER ALERT*** I got a total vic, as US, but only by using saves 3 times to roll back atrocious errors. If I'd left the errors in then I would have been down to 3 squads from 6, more or less, and then it would have been much harder at the end, perhaps. As it was I lost 2 tanks and a couple of Bradleys. But it's true that the US has incredible firepower in all those Bradleys, plus very heavy artillery support, which, combined with the ravens, makes it relatively easy to decimate the Russian armour and AT threat. I spent all of the first hour hardly moving, just using the ravens and the arty, then there was still plenty of time left to take the villages etc. Very few kills were down to my infantry arms, most credited to the Bradleys. Thanks George MC. Great scenario. I see why they chose it as the demo. -

Which is the 'alternate version'? You mean the one in the scenario depot? -

peter thomas replied to Sandokan's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
As we realised above, the version in the scenario depot, link provided by IanL above, is not the one the OP refers to, most likely. But there is a link to that one in the post from Sgt Squarehead above. -

OK. Many thanks. Maybe I just didn't see it. Playing it now and it's certainly a superb map. Thanks! -

Thanks George MC. I have it now - from the download Sgt Squarehead so kindly provided above. It looks great. But it wasn't in my original game, I think, unless it's called something else. Is it called Rolling Thunder V1 as a stock scenario, or something else? How strange. Now I'm wondering what else my stock game should have, but doesn't......and how that could happen...? -

Thanks Sgt Squarehead. But which scenario was the OP talking about? -

Thanks. I'd like to get this scenario. Is the one you're talking about the one called 'RDM - Rolling Thunder V1' in the scenario depot, or something else, somewhere else? Cheers. -
New Website status update

I'm waiting too, to get serial numbers. You can't download anything in the old store at the moment. Just about the only thing that works from the old site is this forum. -

Yes, I also had the impression from comments that it was already up somewhere. I'm waiting to get at my serial numbers so I can re-install games on a new system. I guess it's not going to be up until next week now. -

Maybe worth mentioning that whilst the old site is still partially working, it seems, it's possible to click on 'my details' and see both your used user name and email address, in case you forgot them. -
By jerkiness, do you mean the stuttering that I suffered for years, I wonder? Turned out to be caused by the disc arm 'parking' on the HDD, which interfered with the program loading the sound files. Solved by installing 'crystaldiscinfo 7.0.5' and then under the function menu 'advanced feature' then 'AAm/APM control' and sliding the slider there all the way to the right. Was like magic when I discovered it. There are other posts about it somewhere in here, but I don't know where. Might be a different thing, of course. This was a kind of 'micro-stuttering'.

Tiger Tank Commader, still to low

He's kidding. Does it have any effect on los, at all, what height the commander graphics are? -

Kohlenklau's Winter Mod for Final Blitzkrieg

That's correct, I believe, Erwin. At least, that works fine when I do that. -
Kohlenklau's Winter Mod for Final Blitzkrieg
peter thomas replied to CMFDR's topic in CM Final Blitzkrieg Maps and Mods
Is it possible to get a full version of kohlenklau posted also - not tapered so as not to be in competition with Worghern, for those that don't want to use Worghern, for whatever reason? I would like to try both, separately. At the moment I won't use Worghern's mod - incredible as it generally is - for the reason I posted in that thread (too sharp and ugly a distinction at the draw distance, which gives a moving jagged line across snowy landscapes: independently, it's also very resource intense and hits the framerate), so an alternative would be great! Peter -
Put all the sweetfx stuff in the FB root directory, the dll too and ths shader files (there are 3 files plus the SweetFX folder), then it runs automatically and you can switch on or off with scroll lock.
-
It's all lovely. Worghern, but I can't use it at the moment because the winter (snow) landscapes all have a fairly hard line between the near and distant ground. That is, there's a big colour difference (from dark to light) where the game sets its draw distance. So the near ground - drawn in detail - is much darker than the 'distant' ground - which is drawn more blurred. It's mostly in the snow landscapes, and it's like that with or without the shaders, of whatever sort. The colour match in the stock game between properly drawn ground and distant ground is much closer, so you don't get a hard jagged line between the two, running across the snow. Any chance of you somehow making the distant ground (beyond the draw distance, I mean) slightly darker, to better match the foreground? This prob also exists in the Autumn landscapes, but is less noticeable. Peter

The Autumn aesthetic is really nice, Worghern. Have only tried that so far. Many thanks. Outstanding work. Will the shaders not work from within the 'mods' folder, instead of in the root directory?
-
Thanks Verulam. I found that now. I second what you say about putting the patch up somewhere that doesn't want me to click on random infected ads.
-
And I can't find the file itself on greenasjade. Where is it? The file I downloaded contained only a word file.
-
But which button do I press to get the patch Worghern, instead of pages of ads?????!!! So far I haven't been able to get anything but ads, and they're probably thick with viruses....
-
Is it appearing today on Greenasjade, Worghern?
-
Like it, Worghern. Closer match sky to ground, as less light in the sky.
