Do you know how to eliminate the shadows please? Enquiring minds ( @kohlenklau ) are seeking the knowledge! :)

It sounds like the drop shadows are on their own layer rather than on the layer the gear  that you want to hide is on. I use Corel Paintshop Pro so if you are using Gimp or Photoshop I can’t vouch for this solution, which is to simply collapse/merge the drop shadow layer  with the piece of gear layer. Hope that is clear enough…and that it works!

  2. Sorry, I misled you. I was commenting in regard to Combatintman’s point regarding persistent damage effects being absent in the game. I believe a branching campaign design could be set to achieve what you are after… take the village and then you go on to the scenario that starts you in that village, instead of on the outskirts of town again, or whatever. But all the damage you caused in the first battle for the village will be repaired, which tends to wreck the immersion aspect.

  3. Actually, I've seen that more than once, Erwin. I was surprised because I thought it wasn't working/enabled/whatever by BFC. But the first time it happened, it was on the third hit on the same tree in a WEGO minute, and the tree just disappeared, and the next shot went into the target (a building). But I don't know if it's dependent on the kind of tree, whether it's more difficult if the tree is a single, double or triple "type", or the caliber of the weapon, or some or all of those factors. But it definitely does happen.

  4. Canuck, if I were the Germans in that scenario, with a bunch of Paras 400 meters out, trying to stonk me with Area Fire, and knowing that they are obviously going to come closer to get the prize (bridge), I’d hunker down, take the punishment, and wait until they starting moving out of their cover and getting closer before I opened up. If I had mortars or arty I’d use that, otherwise I’m keeping my head down as much as is practical. I think Combatintman is on the money here. But being stubborn (I know a little about that myself, lol), keep at it until you either figure it out or it drives you nuts! Good luck.
