Have you tried snowboarding in the Himalayas?
Michael
compared to sat in front of the laptop, mug of tea steaming, pixel truppen advancing on Carentan, German pixel truppen in the windows cocking their MG42s................
why would i want to go snowboarding in the Himalayas?
-
Not really, because there is very little overlap in terms of development schedule/resources between NATO and Normandy.
is this a good thing or a bad thing? in playing the GWNN this year terms
-
I would assume that with the NATO module being released in October'ish? CM:N would not be available till sometime in 2011. Just trying to set up my Xmas plans
Is the above reasoning sound?
Santa sits, waiting.........................
-
Dear Battlefront
When will i buy CM Normandy?
-
damn, would have been good. Talking about runners and comms. It would be great if they were also implimented. Command and Comms in game are done well in cmsf. In ww2 it will really affect things. Comms being very different for different units
does this mean killing the hq unit, and or the radio element of a squad could have implications?
-
if its on preorder dare i ask if that means its finished and errr.... you know.... the game with no name is imminent-ish
-
What we should all be doing is bitching like little girls that there were no Tiger Tanks posted in the German Forces video! Can you believe there were NO TIGER TANKS?!!! BFC sellout every chance they get!
Mord...(Uber Groupie)
P.S. I just got me a new ASL module centered around Luftwaffe button camo...anybody wanna come in the bathroom with me? We'll turn off all the lights and take turns touching it.
Mord.... are we watching you go through the menopause?
-
is there a single player campaign or is it multiplayer only?
-
For some reason that makes me think of that scene in Lord of the Rings where they can hear the goblins coming through the well in the Dwarven city.
so my laptops going to start glowing blue as CM:N approaches?
stares at laptop..........
or rewind about 5 minutes in the film where Gimli roars with rage as he realises the treachery and foul deeds of BFC... err the goblins, yes the goblins
-
well, not so much promises but, 'hey stay tuned the official site will be here in a month', and 'in a few days time youll all understand why weve been so busy'.............
tumbleweed
lonely church bell chiming
dust devils

You may find life very hard. Maybe it would go easier if you found something to do while you are waiting: yard work, knitting, gourmet cooking, bungee jumping.
Michael
and now with the rimshot?
trying to get the hang of it
-
How about a rim shot?
please tell me thats a basket ball reference!!!
dont know how long a few days is - if the youll have a forum in a month from a more than a month ago post is right then time is indeed relative in BFC land
-
Give them a few more days and I'm sure that all your questions will be answered.
checks calendar

Yeah, I was going to ask about that thread, me being a somewhat new poster in this forum and all... but I think I will reconsider.
just...... dont go in there!
-
The last 10% of development can be 90% of the time they take to make the game.
not Dev though from what i understand - just TOE, and the usual bits and bobs!
-
The minutia took a LOT longer than we expected. The CMx2 environment does not lend itself to shortcuts as well as CMx1 did (which was, in effect, a collection of short cuts). And then there is the fact we are working on several games at one time, which we've never done before. Many firsts for us
As a bone... testers are playing real scenarios with 90% of the TO&E that will ship with the initial release, all of which has been finalized for some time now. That doesn't mean we have everything in that we need to get in, but it does mean that basically we have a fully functional WW2 environment. That's what took us all the extra time so it's a good sign that we've moved on from it.
Steve
outstanding - does this mean, ALL youve got left to do is put in the other 10% of the TOE in?
And any idea on a forum eta?
-
left entirely on their own at the top of a building one of my teams over 3 turns dispatched an rpg team and a HQ team - dead now of course after RPG team 2 spotted them - but a fair exchange
-
Totally agree Pvt. Ryan!
I'm amazed at how some people are complaining about the time it takes to make the game. BF owes us nothing when it comes to new games. It's not like you've already paid for it and they're not delivering a product. These are the same people that would complain about bugs if the game was shipped out too fast. Please just settle down. Nothing you write on these forums will make BF release any game sooner. If you don't think BF are working up to speed or if you're pissed that screenshots aren't coming out as frequently as you'd like, leave. Go play a different game. Stop wasting everyone's time with complaints and whining. The game isn't being made specifically for you. The rest of us will stick it out and get to play a great game when the time comes.
ooo dont get me wrong, not complaining at all, what the hell is there to complain about? A game with no name, no forum and no release schedule cant possibly be complained about..... oh.... ahhhhhh i see how this works now.
Is that a challenge? theres nothing we can say to make them speed it up..... i wager youre wrong!!
-
BFC says. From the sounds of things, we are getting closer, but I have no idea if we are six months away or a year away.
so the game is but a few months away, but when you add all these months together it could turn out to be a lot of months, or what most people call.... a year.... which in the grand scheme of things isnt 'soon' is it? really
-
Is it scheduled for release in the next few months. BFC will provide more details as they get closer to finishing the game.
who says..... except you obviously
-
i know it was mentioned without any dates, but is there a rough ETA on the website, just so, you know we've got a home and a quenched need for something with normandy on it?
-
We have actually begun preparations for the website and official announcements last week. I only have two hands and one brain, guys!
***cough cough*** erm, website coming soon? ***cough, cough***
-
Just to place myself firmly in a minority once again, candidly I don't give a fig about the whole campaign thing. That's not what I want from a squad level tactical game, in fact it strikes me as just a tad ridiculous. Now if we were talking about a battalion or divisional level game I might be interested. But that's not CM.
Michael
i agree, plus im not that kind of gamer, im in, im out - played for 15 mins last night - i like to be able to set up a QB (of sorts) or load a scenario, play it and move on, thanks to the team and the modders the whole game is immersive enough to me scenario by scenario
-
The word you may have missed is "seemingly."
It's coming, it's coming. Bunch of whipper-snappers . . .
;-)
Gpig
yeah yeah i may have paniced a bit
CM:N Safe to say 2011?

How 'imminent' does it need to be before you release upon us a forum and a hatful of screenshots?
I havent got the time in stealth mode (at work) to check how long before release there was a CM:A forum
