Strats may not work because you cant attack your own port. 2 - Russians will activate but not DOW under Global unless they do an offensive, which I have set to happen but not right away. 3 - I suggest using moderate difficulty +50% and +.5 xp 4 - Do you see the names on the map? They require you control the following: A - Map edges = the listed Island/Town B - Non-Map edges need BOTH cities under friendly control. Johnston wont work for Japan unless they own Johnston. The reason for this was to simulate the value of ports and islands in control of the sea.

Also - the settings may be an issue - remember +50% MPP is a lot, and the AI gets extra free units on top of that. So play it that way but expect a hard challenge.

I have had some success with the uboats vs. the AI. Only USA CA/BB have 2 spotting. Do you attack and then run off in silent mode, then re-appear elsewhere? It helps cut down on the losses they can't figure out where you are and only get you by pure luck. I can check Lend-Lease it looks like it is set too high. Also, I added a Barbarossa event. In my game(s), I found that waiting to 1942 and using DPs to reduce the US and USSR activation let me strike in mid-42 to greater effect than mid-41. So, I gave Germany a DE to hit w/Barbarossa damaging russians, giving them some free MPPs, but with a winter coming at them later. Still an overall advantage but leaves both options open. Have to check on USA vs Japan. It may be because you didnt take much from the USA so they are not going to start in on Japan until a bit later. I may need to do some date revisions. I need to add in 1.03 soon - 1.02 doesnt have Barbarossa.

You must be seriously misunderstanding something here. It should be near to impossible to invade us-can anyway (completely unreasonable that this could happen), so not sure how you can say it is unreasonable, but all that can be fixed, why not try a different scenario as they are all available and you can also download mods at no cost and some may have those things changes. My experience is that virtually everything that is an issue gets fixed.

Reducing Partisan APs may be a good idea for europe. However, I give them AD since I believe any air operations always result in losses. This is the nature of air power - there is a high attrition rate operating aircraft even when no one is shooting at you. My Naval attack ratings are lower than the standard game. Naval attack evasion would also mean that they could avoid damage from carriers. I can experiment, but my alternate idea is to have a naval defense value so ships take damage. Not that realistic either but allows for a limit to the amount of use they will be for bombardment. Represents normal wear and tear, operational expense, and coast defenses. I combine that with some attack evasion for the ships also. Chungking is the only capital. They may not surrender if a large army remains due to the minor surrender rules, which I approve of in the case of China. They should be hard to kill. You don't have to wait for every tank! There are several options to try. I may do a winter/barbarossa surprise but decided not to for now either way. You had bad luck with minors - usually they join. I also recommend not to attack Yugoslavia until the coups happens (if it fails - 25% - you might even get them as an ally with some extra diplomacy added in). If it succeeds, that adds activation to Rum/Bulg. I decided mostly these things go your way, but there is no guarantee. I also made the Ukraine event harder to achieve - it is too easy as it stands now.

German spearheads have broken through the allied lines and attacked rear HQ areas. ZG 26 Horst Wessel joins the Luftwaffe. The Regia Marina moves to interdict British shipping in the Mediterranean and advance in southern France. In the East, the Japanese consolidate and push towards Nanning in the South and Nanchang in the Northeast, and in doing so clear out the partisans in Anhui. Further North, the Chinese New 2nd Corps is destroyed. June 21, 1940 - The Allies issue a general retreat and withdraw their headquarters, air and other support elements from the front lines. In China, it looks like there may be a push developing towards Wuhan.

May 10, 1940 - Belgium falls and the 2nd French Army is also destroyed. Advance elements of the German Army appoach the Allied entrenchments and strike and almost destroy the BEF I Corps. The air battle intensifies with French and British air battling the Luftwaffe for air superiority and in support of their forces. There is also an assault to weaken the Maginot line, but little progress is made. As part of Unternehmen Weserübung, I Corps and 1st FJ attack and take Denmark, but not without the support of bombardment from the Kriegsmarine, which finally breaks the defenders at Copenhagen. The Italians commission Vittorio Veneto, and Italy begins to prepare for war. The Italian Army also begins to modernize some of its small arms for the war to come. Meanwhile, Japan introduces a 37mm Anti-Tank gun and the Germans have just perfected the 5.0cm PaK. May 24, 1940 - The Allies strike back! Advancing elements of the German Army are hammered by air and counter attacks by French and British Armor, resulting in the destruction of 1. Panzercorps and XIII Corps. Meanwhile, the BEF I Corps is reinforced. Denmark surrenders, but Greenland is given US protection and Iceland and the Faeros Islands are annexed by the UK without any bloodshed.

April 12, 1940 - Axis declare war on Netherlands and Belgium, Netherlands falls but Brussels holds on. 1FJ prepares for operations in Denmark and Norway along with I Corps. In the East, 13th Army lands in Canton, Japan bombs Nanning, and the Chinese New 2nd Corps gets hammered. Both Germany and Japan introduce production line innovations. Japanese send an embassador to the USA to try to ease raised tensions due to Japanese depradations in China. April 26, 1940 - Netherlands surrender, but the government escapes to the UK and both Dutch Guyana and the Dutch East Indies remain independent. The Allies have built a strong line from the Maginot through Lille and to the coast, which includes the BEF. The Belgians continue to mobilize and defend their capital, and the French 2nd Army joins at Antwerp. In China, the New 2nd Corps is reinforced and holds, and partisans appear in Anhui province. The Chinese also mobilize engineers and the 5th Army Corps.

February 16, 1940 - Winter still prevents any offensives by the Germans. Manstein begins to create a new HQ Army Group. More trucks, half-tracks and armored cars are meanwhile added to the OOB for most of the German forces. The additional mobility should be helpful in the upcoming campaign. German industrial production, especially in military vehicles, increases yet again. In the East, Japan captures Foochow and destroys the New 4th Corps. Reinforcements and redressing the line put a halt to the advance on Suchow. The 26th Infantry from Kalgan begins a partisan sweep in the mountains to clear out the communists. In addition, the Japanese send an embassador to Thailand in order to encourage their government to be more friendly. March 1, 1940 - The Chinese continue their imports from Wenchow but they see that they won't last long and begin to withdraw. Similarly, their forces withdraw from the attack against Suchow, having met stronger than expected resistance. In Europe, ineffective air skirmishes continue, and the Russians finally win a peace against the Finns after an all-out push. What should have been an easy victory instead gave the bear a bloody nose. March 15, 1940 - MUD! No offensive in Europe can begin while the spring thaws the ice from the ground. In the East, Japan captures Wenchow and cuts off all Chinese trade ports. Now, only Nanning in the South through Indochina is letting them receive a trickle of supplies from the outside world. March 29, 1940 - Heavier air combat in the skies over Germany but nothing further. Graf Spee continues to elude the Allied Navies, sinking merchant ships with impunity.

January 19, 1940: Prinz Eugen is commissioned. Graf Spee continues its depradations now that the Uboats are out of action. An embassador is sent to Spain to ask Franco for help, as we helped him during the recent Spanish Civil War. Bad weather prevents any further action on the West Front, but some clear skies see the Luftwaffe bombing Nancy and despite resistance from French fighters, the missions are successful. In the East, despite help from carrier aircraft, Foochow holds out. The Germans introduce the Me-109F, and Krupp introduces some modernized artillery models. The route for our shipments of iron ore via Narvik now appear completely cut off by the Allied blockade. February 2, 1940: Allied French and British bombers retaliate, and there are casualties on all sides, but this won't win the war for any side. The Chinese push their offensive forward to cut the Japanese lines in two by taking Suchow, and threaten to cut off the Japanese 1st Army. Chinese fighters show up over Foochow, striking at advanced elements of the 18th Infantry Division. Sporadic combat continues in the neighborhood of Wenchow. In the north, Communist Chinese partisans strike without warning to the south of Kalgan and obliterate a small Japanese advance column, killing and beheading every soldier they capture.

December 22, 1939: Japanese reinforce the 15th and 17th Infantry Divisions around Wenchow. Chinese New 2nd Corps advances and is counter-attacked by the Japanese 1st Army and 35th Infantry along with some ineffective air support. Nothing happens as bad weather prevents any action along the German West Front. Subs begin sinking allied merchant ships again, however, though the allied blockade of Narvik grows worse. A successful meeting with Antonescu in Romania has seen our cause reinforced in that Nation (crucial due to the Ploesti oil fields). Finally, Guderian has been successful in his attempts to convince more conservative elements in the Herr to increase the motorization of the German Army, and plans are moving forward to do that. January 5, 1940: It looks like Gort has arrived at the front with the BEF, so reports of the British entering France have been confirmed. French Bombers arrive over Germany but are promptly chased off by the Luftwaffe. In the North Atlantic, our subs are mauled and forced to run. The Kriegsmarine believe it must improve its cryptography and is withdrawing an uboat warfare until such time as a new system is in place. In China, the New 2nd Corps receives reinforcements and advances from the Chengchow area are cutting off the northern railroad route. It looks like a major Chinese offensive may be building up on that weak front.

November 24, 1939: Sitzkrieg continues and Graf Spee continues sinking ships, gaining quite a reputation now. Hans Langsdorff elects to evade enemy attempts to intercept so we expect less from the ship for a time, but our uboats should be back on the job soon. Also, reports from Peenemünde that some of our experiments with rockets are having great success. Japan: The Chinese New 3rd Corps around Wenchow has been cut off and destroyed. Unfortunately, despite our siege we must let through the "neutral" US ships into China, though we known this is aiding the enemy. Orders from the Emperor emphasize we cannot provoke war by attacking these ships. December 8, 1939: Bombers from the UK continue to strike but Goebbels emphasizes the bombers being shot down by our heroic FlaK units. In truth, the damage to their air force probably is greater than any small damage their bombs are doing so far. In addition, a few abortive attacks across the Maginot line by the French meet with disaster and a hasty retreat. In the East, as feared the supplies the Chinese have imported allow them to rebuild and reinforce around Wenchow, and the Japanese forces around the city are growing weak.

October 27, 1939: Germans begin to redeploy to the West but do so slowly, not wishing to over-tax the rail system. In the East, Wuhan is captured and the siege of Wenchow begins. German Industry gears up with increased factory output and the Japanese introduce new models of fighters and bombers. November 10th, 1939 - The allied "sitzkrieg" continues with some air clashes over the skies of Germany and in China, a brief Chinese probe from Chengchow is repulsed.

September 29, 1939: German units take Poland and the siege of Krakow intensifies. However, once the USSR joins from the East, the Poles have had enough and surrender. We honor the pact, knowing that the poor performance of the Russians means we should have little trouble taking the rest of Poland when the time comes. Graf Spee continues to sink merchant ships in the South Atlantic, and our submarines are sinking ships in the North Atlantic. In the East, the Japanese capture Swatow, and there is heavy fighting around Wuhan. October 13, 1939: British bombers and fighters take casualties but have some success bombing some factories in Dusseldorf. Also, there are reports that a ship carrying iron ore from Narvik hit an allied mine, so that threat will need to be addressed soon. Fighting continues around Wuhan as well as the Hangchow area as the Chinese resist fiercely. Allied Destroyers intercept messages to Axis uboats due to an error where they broadcast clear and several are sunk, the rest scatter. (I forgot to move it).

This is my own AAR for a game I am starting vs. my newest version of the World Campaign (v. 1.02). I am going to try a fairly standard strategy nothing strange. The settings are +50% MPPs for AI and +.5 experience. I am using a beta version of the newest patch 1.02.06. September 1, 1939: Germany declares war on Poland, and UK and France follow up with their promise and declar war on Germany! However, it won't save the Poles. The German army and its Panzers quickly obliterate several Polish armies, capturing Danzig, Lodz, and Poznan. In the South, the advance on Krakow is slower and more traditional. Japan: The Japanese begin to move to clear out the remaining Chinese ports, and bombardment and air strikes have destroyed the Chinese forces in Swatow, so the 5th Infantry have advanced from Canton to capture that port though they have not reached it yet, it is only a matter of time. The siege of Wuhan proceeds slowly for now, as more forces begin to redeploy from Japan as well as from Manchukuo, where our recent border dispute with Soviet Russia will be resolved with diplomacy. September 15, 1939: Allied Response. Very little response from the Allies at this point. The Poles try to withdraw but some sharp fighting vs. Slovak forces in the Carpathians south of Krakow takes place. England sends in a few completely ineffectual airstrikes, and some minor Chinese counter-attacks around Wuhan do them more damage than the Japanese.

comments - 1 - Japan did have a fair amount of tanks but they were rarely concentrated. Should they have seriously hit the USSR they would have had to improve, that is why they have more than historical. 2 - Tac bombers were weakened because if you get high AT tech they will get very strong, and the reducing factor of tech vs. tech Hubert ntroduced will NOT affect them. 3 - Thailand is a bug. I fixed it. Keep a unit in Saigon and the alignment goes up 1/turn (2 per turn net because it goes up also on allied turn). 4 - When you take Nanning it also means you occpuy/block Northern Indochina, but rather than annex it, which they did not actually do, I reflect this in the fact that they will eventually occupy it, so it will in effect surrender. The boycott indicates when they stop their convoy to Japan, hence why you would want to occupy it. That is triggered by US activation level of 50%, and happens 25% per turn until it happens. 5 - I make Rabaul always a Japanese base, so it can be taken by AUS but then needs to be re-captured (or not - there was not much resistance there). Granted the Japanese built it up, but I can't simulate that so I did it this way. 6 - I usually kill the Malay fighter easily - must be bad luck

Cool I intended the ME to be tough and added a few scripts for that - the point on the invasion makes sense - have to consider that. In fact I think I will reduce movement to 16 or maybe even less.
