  1. Hilarious! I knew their was something wrong with you guys, programmers are nuts. And Tagge - good one... I'll be murmuring "crate mod" and chuckling to myself for a week while coding at work...
  2. Ryujin thanks for the tip on Hogs and Masters. I agree Defense of Jisr Al Doreaaa was great. I suggest: "Not a good day to die"(US 101st Airborne + 10th Mtn Afghanistan early in the war) "Ambush Alley"(USMC Iraqi Freedom - great read directly for CMSF) "Thunder Run" (US Army Armor taking Baghdad) "No True Glory" (Fallujah - more high level - weren't they going to make this a movie???) "We were one" (Fallujah - low level) "Sniper One" (British in Iraq - GREAT read, no BS) "Contact Charlie" (Canadians in Afghanistan - good read for NATO module comming up!) "3 Para" (British in Afghanistan 2006) "Ground Truth" (3 Para returns to Afghanistan 2008) "Lone Survivor" (SEALs in Afghanistan - not directly for CMSF but good insight) (Can't wait to read what everyone else suggests).
  3. Congrats Phillip! May all your code be bug free and your bonus checks large.
  4. I'd like to see (morbid as it may be) bodies - non-civilian that is. If they could use the WIA/KIA graphic and add it as a flavor object, senarios about ambushes + rescue survivor missions would be more immersive. The issues I see from this is keeping track of "real" WIA/KIA's from the flavor ones, and having a way of picking the right type per scenarios (i.e. Marine/Army/British/Syian...) when making them.
  5. Hi Scipio, I smell a good scenario comming our way!!! Can't wait! Only two minor things I would change - I don't think the red forces would call themselves "rebels" - maybe "fighters" or "holy warriors" or some such. Since, from their perspective, they are not rebels. And I think the British call thier 81mm's "sections" not modules.
  6. Just like the Judean People's Front crack suicide squad! That'll show 'em!
  7. Hi Jonny, Wiki has a great site under "Structure of the British Army" - look for the land forces structure picture. The best source that I know of (for civilians) is "The British Army, a pocket guide" by Charles Heyman. Pretty cheap and contains all the info that you would need, I bought it just so I could understand the British organization when the British Module came out. Can't wait to play your campaign - keep us posted!
  8. Can't wait! Just finished the Marine campaign (again). Love your scenarios & campaigns PT.
  9. Great! Finally some news! This is going to be very interesting. Thanks Normal Dude.
  10. Just wondering why the Germans don't have any fast movers? They have Tornado's, Eurofighters and even some Phantom II's. I assume Tornado's will be in since the British already have them in game.
  11. I agree, it does look cool with the red and white in the pics. I'd be happy if you didn't change it. Side note: I remember seeing a brand new ensign walking around base in Bahrain with his nice shiny gold metal ensign emblem on (instead of the cloth dull colored one he should have had). Everyone just stopped and looked at him coming down the street... until a Master Chief saw him. Thats when I just shut the door to muffle the yelling...
  12. Fantastic work Webwing! They look great, nice work. Can't wait to put them in action! One minor note - looks like they green/grey out the flag id's on the uniforms.
  13. Thanks Webwing! That is awesome, I was hoping you'd say that!
  14. I've got a question. Since their is three countries simulated in the NATO module, will their be three mini campaigns based on each, or will there be one with linked but with seperate campaign battles being fought concurrently (such as one from Germans perspective then win or lose you play a Canadian one but the outcome of the German one may or may not effect what's going on in the Canadian one...), or will the three countries form a joint task force in one campaign? Side note: I recently read "Contact Charlie" by Wattie about the Canadians of Task Force Orion, and "3 Para" by Bishop about the British of Task Force Helmand. Both books mention that they create a joint task force for an operation but neither author goes into any detail (OPSEC???).
  15. Really! Cool! I would like to see a squad of German and/or Dutch troops in action.
  16. Just a left field question but: I wonder if tunnels will be possible without any extra work on Charles part? Possibly with some modding, a bridge with "normal" ground texture on top rather than a road... Could a series of small bridges togther be used eventually to make the sewer systems of Stalingrad? hmmm...
  17. Being able to split teams while the unit is inside a vehicle would be useful.
  18. Bravo Zulu on the 1.20 and the British Module. Great Job!
  19. Great find Wengart and Scipio! Can't wait to try that out. Knowing that could have made a HUGE difference in some battles I've played. Thanks.
  20. I had an interesting thing happen when I played the Marine Demo battle. I was playing the red side and one of my BMP-3's had it's gunner killed. The driver scooted it to a safe place. I then tried to target an area for surpression, but it wouldn't target. Latter in the battle it was immobilized by a hit from an AT-4. Forgetting that the gunner was killed, I targeted the squad that fired the AT-4. The driver then took the gunner's place and toasted them with the 100mm. So they have it coded to allow them to switch but I don't think we have much control over it. Maybe it was just because the driver couldn't drive anymore or maybe they can switch but before the driver wanted to get away because of the surpression level was still high. Pretty cool though.
  21. Great news! That was a fun but brutal campaign. Can't wait to play the new version.
  22. I can't find anything like our FM manuals. I do recommend getting "The British Army a pocket guide 2008-2009". It doesn't have any tactics but it does have their entire structure, ranks, equipment etc... explained in one organized place (rather than seaching a dozen sites on the internet). The org char on wikipedia displays it all nicely. Reading "3 PARA" has been a helpful glimpse into their tactics and it's a great read.
