  1. Well said sir. You've just provided the technical proof for what most players are experiencing in-game and noting by 'feel'. Uber soviet tanks vs nerfed German ones. No suprises there, we had the same BS foisted on us with IL2.
  2. Realizing of course that even in a multi-player game you'll still find the AI spotting, firing at and hitting targets it can't actually see. Cunningly crafted ambushes? On what's nothing more than a snooker table with terrain features that are purely abstract and, to all intents and purposes, totally transparent? The only thing left that continues to beggar my belief is how anyone can defend this game for longer than the time it takes to play a single battle.
  3. And that's a perfectly valid point. But you can hardly trash the entire game on that single issue. I guarantee that if you use less hyperbole you might actually have a hand in fixing whatever problem you, and I assume others, are experiencing. </font>
  4. You wouldn't happen to post at SimHQ as Sepp, would you..? If so that should ring some bells with BFC. Apologies if I'm mistaken, of course. </font>

  6. I hope what you'll be drinking will be tastier than this lemon we're all sucking on.
  7. Me? Select ammo? That's what I pay my crews for. Or are they incapable of doing what the computer AI is capable of doing? Eg, selecting the correct ammo. Oh, I just considered the ramifications of that one...along with coping with all the other mayhem on the battlefield, we're supposed to run around all our tanks telling the loader which ammo to use? Hello, Speedy Gonzales come in, me right hand's about to drop off and me mouse is on fire.
  8. Too many Tigers going down to T34s, not enough T34s going down to Tigers. So far I'm seeing roughly 50-50, and that's plain wrong. Course, it would help if the player's Tigers could hit the side of a barn, much less actually spot a T34 in plain view. Computer AI has no such limitations...any range, any angle, any obstacle, one-shot kills abound. Game's a turd, end of.
  9. Apparently it's all down to a highly sophisticated system that we're just too dumb to appreciate. http://battlefront.com/index.htm According to this system ambushes just weren't possible in real life, and never happened. Go figure.
  10. Real money's involved. Our's. That's about as grown up as it gets.
  11. So does that mean that when my man is hidden in long grass, behind a bush, prone, an enemy tank one kilometer away won't be able to spot him and then kill him with the first round it fires?
  12. Again, fair enough. You *do* have a forum. I'd like to remind you, however, that it wasn't me making the predictions, explicitly. Have fun hating the game! </font>
  13. ...And I further doubt your ability to make a post that isn't slathered in hyperbole. Use of eloquent words doesn't automatically make one eloquent, nor does it automatiocally make your points valid. Vast majority? I guess you have to believe what you have to believe. I meant to ask you - who is this vast majority? Do you have meetings? A forum I can go visit? Or is it just you in your armchair, playing video game industry analyst? Fair enough - you have made your claim. We'll see whats what in a couple of months. I'm sure that your predictions are spot on. </font>
  14. Oddly enough, I have doubts about your ability to predict the future. No matter how you spin this, the blame will always fall back on you. No one forced you to buy, and the game and game developers don't really deserve your vitriol. </font>
  15. Just totally beggars belief. Put St-Lo on novice setting. Bunch of Shermans come the same way eventually, up the hill on the right flank. I send a MkIV and a Panther around and bounce the Shermans on their left flank. One Sherman goes down, followed by my MkIV. Then the Panther is sitting facing three Shermans, about 100m between them, while the Shermans pound the un-damaged Panther repeatedly and I'm screaming at the Panther to return fire (crew were fine, no wounds etc). It didn't fire a single shot in return, and eventually had it's turret trashed. You can't play a game like this, you simply can't. It's trash. Panther just sitting there, taking round after round from three Shermans in plain sight just 100m away and doing nothing, not even taking aim. Me hitting the fire button, no messages coming up, nada. And all at 6fps. Meanwhile, elsewhere, I've got two Nashorns both firing and taking fire through multiple tree canopies. There's no way in hell either lots of crews could see each other. It makes a total mockery of cover and concealment. I'm done with this farce so far as offline play is concerned. I can understand console-bashing kids getting some measure of entertainment out of it, for the eye-candy alone, but seasoned PC grognards? When a game reduces a player to a screaming rage it's time to put it down and walk away. I'll give the MP a go, whenever somebody at 1C/BF deigns to fix what should have been working in the first place.
  16. I'll try St-Lo on a lower setting then, and see what happens.
  17. Rather than me write yet another laundry-list why don't you go read all the other posts in all the other threads, that should give you a good idea. God, I hate it when devs put Soviet guns on German tanks and German armor on Soviet tanks. If you get my meaning.
  18. I tried the first mission in the German campaign, and actually laughed out loud as a gang of weird little Polish tanks chased down every last surviving tank-crew at different points all over the map. Didn't matter where the individual crewmen were, it was like they were wearing radio beacons and firing flares. I'm laughing, but this game shouldn't be about farcical comedy.
  19. Something, for sure. When you've released something as superb as the CM series you really need to protect the reputation that generated, because it's far easier to fall than to climb. When BF finally hits the bottom of this ToW hole there won't be many bones left un-broken.
  20. And I think most of us now realise why Codemasters dropped this game PDQ. Shame BF didn't catch on and save their hitherto blemish-free reputation.
  21. Another review by some tart who's played the game for five minutes, been overwhelmed by the eye-candy, but doesn't actually have a clue what he's talking about. Realistic? That's the funniest thing I've heard since watching a Dylan Moran video.
  22. Max, on the basis that reducing the level introduces worse anomolies than an overwhelmingly omnipotent AI opponent. Like opposing troops standing feet from each other and doing nothing but admire the scenery.
  23. Moving Tigers may create a din, but the din from the battlefield would have drowned out a battleship. Both Tigers were coming around the blind side of the hill on the far right flank, right at the edge of the map. The only visible icons were one Firefly's and about five infantry-men, all on the other side of the map, engaging my forces on the left flank. Had to be about a kilometer away. Between the two (Tigers and Firefly) were hills, trees and bushes. All I could see from any of the tanks were the others' icons. Obviously there was a LOF, otherwise the Firefly's rounds could not have physically reached the Tigers. But LOS? According to my Tiger crews they couldn't fire back due to lack of LOS, so how did the Firefly crew manage it? This is mainly what is destroying this game, the utterly bogus AI and it's overwhelming omnipotency. Add the lousy FPS, even on uber computers, and there's little left to engage the player. Sod-all actually.
  24. I believe this current version is a six-month patch on the Russian version. So don't hold your breath for anything more. If they couldn't get this turkey squared away in six months of extra development time...
