  1. If you could get this game on steam in the indie section, impulse, gamersgate, or direct2drive then I bet your sales would go sky high!
  2. Well, it is realistic to lose tanks to airstrikes. Planes vs Tanks, planes win everytime.
  3. Stars! Man now that is a name I have not heard in a VERY long time. That was a neat little game.
  4. Nuclear Bomber? Wow I never even knew they had those in this game!
  5. Although I don't have the game yet, maybe a good idea for the use of freighter ships could be to have them make money each trip they travel to and from each of your cities. To make it even more interesting, on a rare occasion every now and then they could actually cost you money which could simulate an unprofitable trip.
  6. I am proof that you are correct about a couple things. The reason I say that was you first mention the price at $45. I also thought that was a bit expensive. Then you also mention the release of other games and funny you said Armada 2526. Reason being is because just last night, I was deciding which game to buy out of EoS and Armada. I did choose Armada, not a big difference at $5 less for the download but it was a very small part in my deciding factor. It was so close that even a small part made a big difference, almost like just a few extra jabs in a boxing match that comes down to a decision and that slightly lower price was a few extra jabs. Then again, I truely feel I could have not went wrong with either game but I did choose Armada first. This said, I don't think it matters too much because I will buy EoS too, maybe before this weekend is up. It does come across as a modern version of Empire but after playing the demo, it seems worlds better. I am sure I will post an "i got it!" thread here when i get it Oh and I would love to see some AARs with images, they done this when Advanced Tactics was released and that tore everyone off the fence that was deciding to buy or not and not one person had regrets for buying it. Don't know if anyone remembers the developer (Brad Wardell) of Galactic Civilizations I posting AARs up before the game was released. We were just waiting to snatch that game the moment it came out like free chocolate cake and when we got it we LOVED it! So I love reading AARs.
  7. Can you say custom map heaven! If that all works as good as it looks in that screenshot above, man this game will have a huge amount of user created maps in no time.
  8. Yeah same here. I thought it was not going to be released until the beginning of December. I found out today when I went to look for info on Armada 2526 at wargamer.com and came across news which said Empires of Steel is released! So I think I will buy EoS first and then get Armada 2526 since I have many space strategy games already and nothing like EoS has been out since the Empire days.
  9. I have not played anything like this since the old Empire days. From what I have experienced, this one will definitely be a winner. It sets an example of great gameplay which is slowly becoming unheard of today.
  10. After playing the demo, I see this game is a total winner! It is a good one here people and I am buying it as soon as I can.
  11. Thanks. I'm the developer, and that's a pretty good description of the game. While playing Civ 3, I felt it could've been better with more war strategy - particularly in the 20th century. And, I was a long-time fan of the Empire game. </font>
  12. Oh wow this one is going to rock the house! Looks like a much better version of empire deluxe and maybe even a warlike version of civ. I am definitely buying it the moment it comes out
  13. Yes I did download the shock force demo and it works fine. I am totally sold on it and will be getting that one in a bit. I guess what I have to do for now with ToW is play it on my desktop and use my laptop (if it even runs on it) to make maps and scenarios. Maybe there will be an update for ToW later on down the road?
  14. Does this game work ok in vista 64? I mean all of it, even the editors? I want to get it but my experience with theater of war (just got it) has me hesitating. The editors in ToW don't run in vista 64 so I don't want to get CMSF and have similar problems. So how is CMSF? I loved the original CM.
  15. Don't get me wrong now, the game itself I think is great. If I can't run the editors I lose 50% of it which I feel is not worth it. I loved making maps and scenarios for combat mission.
  16. I am disappointed that the campaign editor, battle generator, and mission editor does not work in vista 64. I just bought it 3 days ago retail at my local best buy and have the receipt showing that. I paid $40 for it and will sell it for $30 through paypal if anyone wants it. In my opinion the editors are a big thing for this game and to me its major if they don't work. Unless they plan on releasing a patch? I would like to get combat mission shock force but I am worried it will be the same?
  17. I have read the faqs saying the two editors will not run in vista 64. The map editor does run. What I am not understanding is vista 64 is no different then vista 32. Vista 64 installs and runs any 32 bit application automatically in 32 bit. Notice how vista 64 does not install games into 'program files'. Instead it installs them into 'program files (x86)' which runs it in 32 bit. I understand it all runs fine in vista 32 so this is why it don't make sense to me that 64 can't run it. When I attempt to run the editors, it comes up with an error stating wrong game version. I have been running it as an administrator so that can't be the problem. Has anyone found out a way to get them to run in vista 64? This was one of my favorite things to do in the combat mission games is making scenarios. I feel 50% of my game is missing without those editors. I hope someone can help.
