Why the Allies won

TaoJah, I think what annoys some of these folks is that you're just aggressively repeating the same boring talking points over and over. -
Once Britain falls...

That Hungarian corps looks a little nervous. -
I for one would like to see a forum specifically for H2H conversation - setting up matches, AARs, trash talk, etc. I'm a novice player and definitely casual about the whole thing. It would be nice to have an informal place to hook up games with similar players. This main board seems too general for that, and I took one look at Panzerliga and was just like "whatever"... I don't need boring-ass official stats and rules, nor to I wanna play tile-counting mathematicians, just want to have fun a couple hours a week. If there's a specific place for AARs and such I think we'd see more people writing them up, and a richer (but still casual) H2H community.

No Fog of war?
sabazius replied to vveedd's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
I was thinking more about head-to-head play. Something to reflect, for example, information trickling thru to the Allies from operatives in occupied countries. Some way of getting sporadic information about enemy troops without having your own large-scale spotting unit. -

This is an interesting point. At the moment with FOW you're limited to unit spotting range when it comes to getting enemy info. Of course in reality intelligence played a huge role in discovering enemy troop movement/disposition - it would be awesome to see this reflected somehow in SC3. Be quite a challenge to balance a feature like that tho. -
Since SC2 is about attack.

But TaoJah, I think most of us quickly discovered that anyone can kick the AI's ass with very little effort. After doing this a couple times I realized it wasn't the most exciting way to spend an evening. MPPs might be less important against the cpu but against a decent human player they're hardly 'worthless'. -
Looking for non-ladder game
sabazius replied to JJColorado's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
I'm also down for a game. In the middle of playing my first 2 H2H games as Allies, so it might be fun give the Axis a try. You can email me at rbsiv@yahoo.com. -

I'm looking for a PBEM game or two. Email is rbsiv@yahoo.com, I check it fairly often... -
PBEM?
sabazius replied to sabazius's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Sounds good Aztecace, I look forward to it... I can fit in another game if anyone else is up to it. -
Anyone interested in a slow-to-medium PBEM Fall Weiss game, maybe with occasional TCP? I'm probably good for a turn or two a day, maybe more sometimes. Should note that this would be my first against a human opponent, so still learning some (many) of the ropes... I don't mind the learning experience that comes with getting my ass whipped, but it might be a more enjoyable game with another new-ish player. I'd prefer Allies, partly so I can see how other folks play Axis... email me, rbsiv@yahoo.com.

In two consecutive single-player campaigns as Allies, I've noticed the computer gets disproportionally wrapped up with taking Leningrad - surrounding it with at least one armor and several armies (including a few that aren't even on the front lines, just sitting around). It takes them forever and allows me to easily hold my lines farther east. In a future patch it would be nice to see the Axis commit some of those to the real fighting. Frankly, even with the 1.03 patch the Axis AI isn't aggressive enough. They don't take advantage of numerous easy opportunities in NA or for Sealion. I never get the impression as the UK that I am fighting for my existence - it's more holding the fort and being enough of a nuisance until the Soviet hammer crushes the Germans in the east. SC2 is *very* addictive, but not challenging whatsoever single-player. I, as a casual gamer, should not be able to defeat the AI on max difficulty with ease from the first time I've played (making tons of newbie mistakes along the way). Just my two cents... I hope we eventually wind up with a more unforgiving and robust AI...

expanded multiplayer?
sabazius replied to sabazius's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Agreed. I know that the SC2 early preview text stated that up to 6 simultaneous players would be possible, so I was surprised to not see it. Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to implement, and even 3-4 players would add some great strategic variables (thinking back to the old days of Axis & Allies). -
expanded multiplayer?

Still wondering about this, any ideas...? -
I was just wondering if anyone knows whether multiplayer might be expanded in this version of SC, to allow for, say, two allied players vs one axis or somesuch. I had gotten really excited pre-release when someone had said it was going to be, but apparently this feature fell by the wayside! A few friends and I would love to play together, so I really hope it gets added!
