  1. We can always mod OK? Personally I think Pin-up girls on the side of aircraft is definitely more important. Here is what I was trying to say about certain aspects of marketing this game. Let's say you develop a program in country A. Country A is full of nice people with a high culture and generally do not like gore. Country A has its own history, which is different than..... Country B, we know nothing about country B except that it is extremely cheap to press CD's and game manuals. Country B could care less about the subject matter. Country B just wants to press CD's and game manuals and these will be sold to countries A and C. Country C is a weird place. It has a low culture, many prisoners, and people do not get much vacation time. Country C does have a large population and a lot of cash to by CD games. Right or wrong, (and you guys are starting to civilize me - so my thinking now is that we are wrong,) Country C has an appetite for lots of sex and violence and is willing to pay cash for it. Or at least carry around a lot of debt on plastic. "Eureka!" says the developers in country A. We can bifurcate certain aspects of the game that will be sold so that both countries A and C can be happy with the CD game. Country A respects its unique laws and culture, and Country C's laws are exploited to further increase sales. Those laws are derived from something country C has called a bill of rights. And here is the beauty of it, Country B will publish anything. The developers sell many more copies in country C than they thought possible (because they were clever enough to take advantage of country C's crazy laws), and are rewarded with private jets, beautiful women, and mansions with marble floors. Country C is rewarded with a growing prison population, diabetes, mucho firearm deaths, and insurmountable debt. Country B has a steady income pressing game CD's and will eventually bankrupt country C through trade debt. ...and they all lived happily ever after...
  2. Some people really need to seek professional help. music.......... daht dut dunna dah Cult Following presents: YOU <o> guess the word, Round 1, known as a form of insanity a psychotic disorder characterized by loss of contact with the environment, by noticeable deterioration in the level of functioning in everyday life, and by disintegration of personality expressed as disorder of feeling, thought (as in hallucinations and delusions), and conduct called also dementia praecox Round 2, dementia can be caused by this, a common venereal disease caused by the Treponema pallidum spirochete; symptoms change through progressive stages; can be congenital (transmitted through the placenta) [ October 20, 2006, 08:46 PM: Message edited by: ajj1912 ]
  3. True.........True!!! I guess I am hoping they sell 40,000+ copies to the U.S. alone. Then LOCALIZATION would MEAN something. Are you guys (our friends in Germany and Battlefront) trying to tell me that A) You don't own or play games that have blood in them? Close Combat included, be honest now! When was the last time anybody was convicted for playing a game that had illegal symbols in it? True, I know it is different for developers. You would be better informed than I. I know I can mod symbols on the back of tanks if I want to. I might model a pin-up girl on the side of a plane if I so choose. WHOOPS, pin-up girls are a no-no in the USAF, at least currently. Not PC So maybe you can see why I am disgusted by the rules sometimes. By the way, I know the US is not great or perfect. I just took that tone in my previous post only because it really does seem we are getting are ass handed to us in the Middle-East. We are (were) only a hyper-power after all........ Good morning Vietnam!!!! [ October 20, 2006, 08:24 PM: Message edited by: ajj1912 ]
  4. Yes we did discuss this in "pink mist." It has now been changed to "dust/smoke puffs," quite a compromise on my part Also where are the V-1 rockets? Everyone knows they were used in rural combat..... was KISS around at this time?
  5. Why I want swastika flags in the game, where they belong, i.e. early panzers. 1) I am not a neo-nazi 2) It reminds every U.S. citizen why we fought in the European Theater in WWII. 3) It is associated with a failed idea (Germany's imperialism) 4) You have swastikas in the game, but you don't have an opinion about it, or you see the whole issue from a neutral point of view. In this case, you can also go to Option 5. 5) It reminds the U.S. citizen that even after we defeat an enemy we will still risk our skins to fly through Mig-alley, ( and help give supplies to those who were trying to kill us,) because we are kind and generous nation. 6) Our belief in freedom of speech as set forth in the U.S. Bill of Rights. (Sorry for those of you who do not enjoy this freedom.) 7) The U.S. flag will be in the game because the U.S. participated in this armed conflict and was victorious, much like the USSR. 8) We don't ban Uncle Joe's flag even though he killed lots of people. now, any intelligent questions? sorry bipolars, this means you may not be able to reply. 6. Thanks RMC, I was unaware that friendly fire was not modeled with CAS. Hell, even the U.S. bombs Canadians once in a while. http://thegallopingbeaver.blogspot.com/2006/07/us-bombs-canadian-troops-again.html Will there be any friendly fire from ground to ground units (off-map mortars), or ground to air? Is friendly fire considered at all? If maps are 4x4 km you would think somebody could pick the wrong target, especially if the soldiers 'skills' like accuracy are poor. Panic and morale could also be contributing factors. I just thought that these would be applied to pilots as well. Aerial flags on armor of course would modify those statistics.
  7. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM..... Eating Meat, Yummy, http://www.viva.org.uk/photogallery/Slaughter/PregnantAnimals.htm
  8. Now we know why bovines were a casualty. Wowzers Scooby. ... wait.. for.. it......................................................................... SCOOBY DOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Again, http://germandressdaggers.com/Panzer%20can%20flag%201.jpg Haven't seen a single screenshot where a swastika looked like it would belong.?????
  10. p. 136: German forces in Serbia (April 1941): Swastika flag on tank for identification by aircraft http://www.smev.de/flags/images/21-136b.jpg Man, I never realized exactly how much Serbia has been through. Let us wish for peace. The A.J.ster P.S. Hope I proved my point RMC, Early Panzers had swastika flags on decks and turrets and that is a historical fact. Whether you choose to impement the graphic where it is legal to do so (localization) is your choice. I am not out to hurt anyone's feelings, but I believe the hypersensitive will always be offended. Tell the truth the way it is, now that is a good motto!!!!
  11. Ahh, here we go. Swastika flags were the [only] ones used to identify armour and were also painted on the front deck of warships. See also Symbole und Zeremoniell in deutschen Streitkräften, Militärgeschichtliches Forschungsamt, p. 180, ill. 85 So why wouldn't you fight with one wrapped around your armor if the Luftwaffe was blowing the screscraw out of everything early in the war?
  12. Especially if Stuka's are around???? I thought armor wore huge swastika flags to prevent fraticide. Wouldn't want to take anything away from the Blitzkrieg would we? How is the Junkers modeled anywayz?
  13. Early to mid Eastern front CAS you would definitely see swastikas on armor, or ..... I could be wrong.
  14. OK, Flanker15 has a great idea. How about dust/smoke puffs? That way everyone gets a visual clue in addition to other animations and you don't have to worry about gore. Crawling in the field is bound to get those natural fiber uniforms dirty XD
  15. Or swap reference only at visual verify, ya dig? ... I kant stand 2 watch
  16. Some people died a long, long, time ago ....... sometimes in body, sometimes in soul, sometimes in both.
  17. We should just delete this thread. Otherwise people serious about the development of this game will disappear. Late,
  18. Page 2 will find AT teams firing from the field. Setting up a MG in the open is possible, but probably not wise. I think the AI will try to determine threat assessment. It looks like infantry will destroy a tank with pleasure. I sure wish they had the boats in it. Pink mist would be nice too. How 'bout a pix of the flamethrowers in action
  19. Demo will definitely be out before Christmas so sales will be good. Take your time with the translations so they are not goofy. Try to find someone with a British accent and a Yankee accent (Is there such a thing?????) for their respective countries. Thanks and hope to see TOW before 2007.
  20. Oops. above link has destroyed Russian AFV as well. enjoy
  21. Here you go. Destroyed German armor only. http://www.battlefield.ru/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=204&Itemid=105〈=en
  22. To what extent was the 30-40 krag used on the Polish front? I know it was used somewhat.
  23. All of you people R krzy ..... Craaaazzzy. Surrounding flora cannot ignite and subsequently do the smoke screen thingie. Yet gunnersman tells me that "pink mist" WILL be modeled. In other news "Pluto" will indeed be a planet during this time period. Also the Vatican will not admit that the Earth revolves around Sun during the events portrayed during this simulation. Futhermore biplanes may or may not be seen on the Polish front. out
  24. FoW demo was a bit too aggravating for me. I did like what the AA did to soft vehicles though. Laterz
