  2. I'm a geography buff, I like all of the place names and towns. I much prefer to attack Tula or Anzio rather than tile x,x etc. There is no battle of Kursk, Falaise or Bastogne in the vanilla scenario. I am rather proud of my Kasserine Pass additions and new Normandy coastline. IN a perfect world we would have a larger scale map that I can MOD. Yes, the map will be expanded, right now those arrows are just for show.
  3. Yes, forgot to announce that version 3 is up. I still need to make some adjustments to the Axis AI. They won't invade Denmark but now will invade Belgium and the Netherlands.
  4. I added Netherlands as a separate country. If I added an offensive script identical to the Belgium script with the only difference being the goal postion and cancel positions, would the Axis AI execute both at the same time?
  5. Scripting advice needed! I want to add some random chance that if Vichy is accepted, then there is a possibility that one or more of the territories decides to go Free French.... My initial thoughts: 1. Paris captured, transfer capital to Algiers. 2. Vichy decision script. 3. No on Vichy, then Algiers stays as capital and I add De Gaulle HQ in Algiers. Easy. 4. Yes on Vichy then there is a 10% chance that Algeria, Tunisia and or Syria stay French. 5. If Algeria stays Free then I add De Gaulle HQ in Algiers. 5. If Algeria goes Vichy, French capital gone. If Tunisia or Syria stay free what happens? Do they go to French->Surrendered to Germany? 6. Is there anyway to then transfer the capital to either Tunis or Beirut if they stay free? Any ideas?
  6. Just noticed that the Axis AI will not attack Denmark, thus causing an invasion of Norway to never happen. I beleive that an "offensive" script with an Axis goal of Copenhagen is missing.
  7. Version 2 is up. I also realized that version one did not have any of the British MED fleet. OOPS!
  8. What were the dates of those territorial transfers to Hungary and Bulgaria?
  9. Next version to be up tomorrow. Scripts added for Axis surface raiding from Brest, Cherbourg and St. Nazaire. Changed UK convoy route from Egypt to go through the Med. It makes control of Gibralter, Malta and Cyprus even more important as the lane passes right through the ports on these. Added script for USSR anexation of Bessarabia. Further adjustments of Polish, USSR, French and German starting OOB. Added a couple of USSR cities/towns. Added ALL historical German and USSR HQs to list of available units. Added script to increase Greek readiness if Italy blockades the Med. Added script for Warsaw uprising if Allies or USSR approach Warsaw. Added script for full US partisans after invasion. Added script for arrival of Free Polish/Greek unit in Crete if Greece surrendered to Axis. Added De Gaulle and Free French unit to arrive in UK in 1944. Decreased war readiness increases for Italy for UK naval activity in Med.

  12. I am going to post on cmmods right now. I AM aware that there is a problem with the minor HQ flags. They are showing up on a white background. I have emailed the issue to Hubert. Also, I am still working on the Axis surface raider and Free French unit scripts so those will be in the next version sometime next week. Have fun!
  13. I am now 99% finished my Fall Weiss MOD for the PDE engine. It will not work on WAW and I will no longer support the old WAW Honch MOD. I have basically transferred my MOD to the PDE engine and the extended PDE map which shows much more of North America. Most of the new US and Canadian resources do not contribute to their MPP production until the defeat of Japan. I have included all of my scripts including Croatian and Ukrainian SS units, Spanish Blue units, creation of Croatia, annexation of Alsace Lorraine, Axis oil shortages, British Home Guard, Axis surface raiding, US A-Bomb attacks in 1946, US partisans, Free Greek/Polish/Dutch and Belgian units, Allied evacuation from Greece to Crete upon Greek surrender and Free French units in the UK. As usual, it includes all of the extra major cities and ports, historical OOB, Netherlands and Trans-Jordan as separate countries and the removal of special forces and rockets from force pools. Rockets will arrive on schedule for Germany to represent V-weapons. I have also added "points of interest" to the map such as Kasserine Pass and Anzio and adjusted the Normandy coast line to allow for better "D-Days". The default upon UK surrender is transfer of the capital to Halifax. I am still working on adding in ALL of Africa and then adding Free France as a separate nation with its capital in Libreville if Vichy France IS created. This will also allow addition of Venezuela with its oil convoy to the US and the Panama Canal with transit arrows to the Indian Ocean.
  14. In my HONCH Fall Weiss MOD for PDE (in the works)I have scripts for the use of Hydrogen Bombs on German cities in 1945-1946 if still at war. I will make them decision scripts...."The US has a hydrogen bomb available for use. Your generals suggest dropping it on the key port and industrial center of Hamburg. Do you wish to drop the bomb?" This will destroy the city, port and any units within one tile of Hamburg. The city and port will remain at zero indefinately. However, what other effects (diplomatic etc.) would you suggest for a yes versus a no?
  15. Gdtrfb, in response to your adding units to represent full US output. This won't be an issue in the new PDE MOD as with all of the extra US cities and towns, US MP production will be significantly higher.
  16. Can't change the AA strikes to two as they don't use "strikes" for AA defense. Its something in the game engine. The strikes would allow for attacks against land units. Left # of strikes at zero.
  17. I think that limited "at sea supply" is a good idea in some fashion as well as allowing BBs and CAs to surface raid convoy routes. Otherwise, why would you want to send the Bismarck into the Atlantic at all? I tried to simulate this in my old MOD using scripts and will probably put it in again. If an Axis BB or CA occupies Brest, St.Nazaire, Cherbourg or Bordeaux (or Bilbao) then there is a % chance of Liverpool taking an MP hit each turn. If one occupies Bergen or Trondheim then same for Archangel when USSR is at war. I also tried to simultae at sea supply by adding Montevideo as an Axis supply base but its not realistic enough. (You know me, its all about realism)
  18. Personally I think that AA should have a strike against every aircraft unit that flies through its range! Anyway, I will change it to two strikes, thats a good idea. Still working out some wrinkles on the PDE Fall Weiss but I hope to have it ready for the PDE release.
  19. Great discussion so far guys! 1. I think that there is a concensus on the need for a Fall Weiss corps/division level and World Map corps level scale. (You're right PZRGDR, CEAW is really just a Corps level map, but it is a better scale than SC2). Your map is perfect for A3R fans. 2. Everyone has different views on atomic bomb, marine and garrison units. But to provide them and then give the option of turning their availablity on or off would be great! 3. If you have played CEAW then you know that one of its few nice options, besides the map scale and tactical commanders, are the oil and manpower features. In response to Hubert (who reads all of these posts, now that's support!), CEAW (and WIF) uses a system of being able to "pin" a tactical commander onto an armour or infantry unit (naval and air would be great as well) and use his abilities for that unit only. For example, "Patton" and his additional exploitation abilities could be tacked onto the US 3rd Army, "Paulus" and his supply benefits onto the German 6th Army or "Student" and his paratroop attack benefits onto the German FSJ etc. This is a great method for adding the flavour of using "tactical" commanders. These commanders can be killed or put out of action for several turns during combat and can be switched to different commanders to add different abilities to units when needed. I still beleive that SC2 type HQ units are good ideas as they represent general theatre level command and supply such as "Eisenhower", "Zhukov" or "Army Group North" etc.
  20. Added the new expanded North America. Added six columns to the Atlantic width. Increased carrier naval attack and defense by 1. Changed arty back to 2 range. Increased AA soft defense by 1. Reduced destroyer air and bomber defense by 1. Increased AA strike range to 2. Added an arty to France, Germany and USSR starting OOB. Adjusted all scripts to PDE engine. Will post this new PDE based Fall Weiss as soon as PDE is available.
  21. After reading the Matrix forums it is conceivable that "World in Flames" will be ready in late 2008. (I would expect 2009 though) I know that some of you will say that they will be completely different games, but, when it comes to my strategic, turn based, World War Two dollar, I have to give serious consideration to WIF. (And I would rather support SC) Ignoring the obvious differences of tiles vs hexes and stacking vs no stacking, what does SC3 need to realistically compete with a computer based WIF? My thoughts as to what Hubert MUST make a priority: 1. A grand strategic map with either the European theatre on a division level scale (Like CEAW) and/or a world map on a corps level scale. 2. An atomic bomb unit. 3. The ability to amphibious assault tiles with units in them. (eg. Malta, Gibralter, coastal cities) 4. Battleship and Cruiser surface raiders. 5. Garrison/Militia unit. (Like CEAW) 6. Cavalry unit. 7. Marine unit. 8. Leaders attached to units instead of just naming HQ units after them. (Like CEAW) 9. Oil consumption. (Like CEAW) What else am I missing?
  22. Agreed, I will change it back to 2. Initially the MOD will be PDE only until later. The reason being I am currently adding in the new North America from PDE and making use of the new scripts that will only work in PDE.
