  1. I have a TON of pictures if any of you guys wanna check 'em out. I got most if not all of these from another website. If the link doesn't work or somethin then I'll see what I can do. If it does then enjoy: http://s109.photobucket.com/albums/n73/kawaiku/US%20Military/ P.S. And if for some reason any offend you(I don't know why they would) then I can't do much there either.
  2. Have some pictures of Barbed wire in use: This might be of interest since you guys have talked about bunkers and roadblocks:
  3. What does ROW stand for anyways? All I know is that it is some community wide tourny(am I right?) that is apparently really fun and high class with many memories being made.
  4. I have an operation for gemmano ridge if you care to take a look at it, unless you already have it?
  5. How does Highlanders in Hell square up against the AI? Im just starting PBEM(one at a time) and like playin the AI mostly. So Im just curious as to how it works out? It's not at TPG or SDII, and I can't find any reviews of it anywhere.
  6. Quicked searched and found these, they are not much tho: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1st_Canadian_Armoured_Brigade http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1st_Canadian_Tank_Brigade Did some more, it seems that there isn't much but the same kinda details: http://www.canadiansoldiers.com/mediawiki-1.5.5/index.php?title=1st_Canadian_Armoured_Brigade http://www.canadiansoldiers.com/mediawiki-1.5.5/index.php?title=Italian_Campaign (look for advance to Florence) http://www.vac-acc.gc.ca/remembers/sub.cfm?source=history/secondwar/Italy (not much here either) Every thing about them is the same and a bit vague... Two rather large PDF Files(like... HUGE), you might find something in these(haven't had the time to look lol as you can see why!): http://www.dnd.ca/dhh/downloads/cmhq/cmhq179.pdf http://www.dnd.ca/dhh/downloads/cmhq/cmhq178.pdf Good luck with those, here's the site I got them from: http://www.dnd.ca/DHH/history_archives/engraph/cmhq_e.asp?cat=1 It's the best I could do ATM. I'll scout around some more. O yea, G.R. is gonna have to wait a bit, RL is kinda gettin in the way(freakin school)
  7. Maybe you all should collaborate and write a book on this subject of all CM players with CMBB(with pics of course) 'cuz there is sooo much info in almost every single post I haven't even gotten past the first page
  8. Left a quick comment at the TPG. I had enough time for 3 turns, it take a bit but it'll get done at some point.
  9. I've never seen mannerhiem but lonesentry is pretty cool.
  10. Crap Im totally qualified but my e-mail won't allow me to recieve the turns and use them but I can somehow send them  . Does anyone live in the Bay Area who uses Comcast?
  11. Hey Runyan99. I looked around and they only helpful info was that video. Other than that I could not find any really helpful info on the battle besides the fact that it involed some really heavy fighting when the Axis attacked it and when the Soviets re-took it. Was there any other info you could find on it? Found out about a division that fought in the taking of the battle although it doesn't say all but about 12 words of its capture which was from 8/14/42 - 9/10/42 and that it fought 28 engagements in the process [ August 15, 2006, 09:59 PM: Message edited by: kawaiku ]
  12. A radio broadcast of the battle in Ortona: http://archives.cbc.ca/IDCC-1-71-636-3486/conflict_war/halton/
  13. Found a documentery on it: http://archives.cbc.ca/IDC-1-71-636-3477/conflict_war/halton/ Hope you like it
  14. Very Nice. How long have you been working on this one? It looks great. How many are you planning on doing of the Tuscany Maps?
  15. Here is something I found on the 4th FJ.This is the best I could find on them: http://www.feldgrau.com/4FJD.htm BTW I wouldn't mind checkin out that Romolo Map when you are done. Is it an operation or a battle?
  16. Here are some good tips! "Just drive down that road, until you get blown up" - General George Patton "Take calculated risks." - General George S. Patton, Jr "You're never beaten until you admit it." - General George S. Patton, Jr "The best tank terrain is that without anti-tank weapons." -Russian military doctrine. Here is the answer to the one about Historical accuracy: Its true(well most of the time anyways). "One of the serious problems in planning the fight against American doctrine, is that the Americans do not read their manuals, nor do they feel any obligation to follow their doctrine..." - From a Soviet Junior Lt's Notebook "There is no problem that cannot be solved by the use of high explosives." "Always remember to pillage BEFORE you burn" "Anything worth fighting for is worth fighting dirty for" "A nuclear war can ruin your whole day" "Draft beer, not people" When you run out of ammunition remeber this: "I have a catapult. Give me all the money, or I will fling an enormous rock at your head"
  17. Nice read JonS. Thanks for that. It seemed like there were a lot of Tigers prowling around on the battlefield(surprising the air corps couldn't take any of 'em out). Was a heavy abieltung(probably spelled wrong) depolyed to Italy at that time?
  18. Here is the province it might have been in: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umbria A map of August 25th 1944. Look at the center thrust. The 1st Preht Corps has the 356th at the right attacked by the 8th Indian Division(I think). http://members.aol.com/ItalyMap/ArmyMap1.jpg There might be somthing useful here. I haven't read all of the war through but it might help: http://www.larchivio.org/xoom/gerhardmuhm2.htm Picture of Region: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Rural_Toscana.jpg Heres the last link I found. It is a great read but no info on GR, but it mentions the 356th including the corps it was in and the Fourteenth army which it fought under. I skimmed through it rather fast so I might have missed something. This seemed to be a little more usefull though it may take a lot of reading. http://www.mtmestas.com/Military/Italy/NorthApennines/NorthAppinines.htm Good luck with your research. And let me know if you find anything since you got me hooked on this damn battle. Cheers, kawaiku
  19. I found this but that is all right now. http://www.feldgrau.com/InfDiv.php?ID=245
  20. List the websites that you have tried (besides google and wikipedia). That way when I get the chance to do some real searching I know which ones too not look for(although Ill look anyways). I have heard about this battle, although it was just faintly. You may wanna try and reach the guys at World War Two History and WW2 magazines too see if they have anything on it(if you can get them at all). And if you get any answers I'd love to see them.
  21. Found this: OOB for Army Group C italy(I think) Hope it helps somewhat
  22. Kingfish, thats a helluva a line that the 5th would have to defend. BTW I have noticed that there is not a whole lot of info on the British side of things above the bulge where they were operating? I always here about the bulge and the other one "winter storm" or whatever it was that took place in the south. And yes the info was great too. Another question is what if it was launched just south of Eindhoven? I remeber reading somewhere that by this time the British were struggling with replacement problems and such and soon after the bulge the americans(probably because of the pacific campaign) too but if it was launched against the weary brits(considering market garden just ended) it might have been different. But then again I have no idea on the operations that went on up there so its just an idea or a thought, however you like to put it.
