  1. I'm not mad, angry, upset, or frustrated, just wanted to make sure y'all know that I'm just starting to lean towards the Sixx side of dumping the card, or limting the possibility of anyone getting it to once per match.
  2. Not saying that, but I do notice streaks in the game, as in if I play 3 or 4 missions and they all go bad, I won't play until the next day because the pattern is whacked. That's how I lost my last wingie, a bunch of IMS:2D ina row. Heck, I had for 3 turns in a row once an A6M8 and his wingie each play a IMS:2D against me, and I could not draw a single maneuvering card to get out of harms way....8+4+4+5+2+2+2=27 cards and no love....
  3. Anyone else think this card is popping up too often lately? I had a pair of FW-190's play 11 of them against me in one match, blasting both my bombers and me. The next match, Me-109K's played 8. This card has to go.
  4. Hmm....campaign only so it must be if you don't shoot down the target element they get double target points? Of course, if you're really evil, if you have carrier fighters and their target is a carrier.........you hit the silk.
  5. When I go to the leaderboard, for the week the kills/mission stats are all wrong. I flew 3 missions and had 12 kills, but my ratio is 0.80? Shouldn't it be 4.00? Or has the calculator changed for a minimum missions flown for the week?
  6. One of 2 options....no parachute or kamikaze attack.
  7. Another point I'd like to make about ALTITUDE ADJUSTMENTS. If you have advantage on an enemy, and he dives, take into consideration how many cards he will have, and skills such as POWER DIVE and SHAKE HIM OFF, as it may cost you more to chase him instead of letting him go. And the same is true when you are disadvantaged and changing altitude.
  8. Damn, sorry to hear that Misty!
  9. Ugh, you guys are killing me here....and I think we're getting rid of the internet for the summer, too.
  10. I still notice that when an enemy leader is shot down by one of your bombers, the wingman becomes leader and only gets a number of cards equal to it's offense, even though in the log it states dealt the number of cards equal to performance. Not that I'm complaining.....
  11. Here's one you might find interesting: http://www.bergstrombooks.elknet.pl/bc-rs/batz.htm Here's another one....scroll down a bit to the "Red Stars" book: http://www.aerovintage.com/review.htm#rs4 It does seem like the Finns shot down a lot of Spits....
  12. I think the majority of the problem is that Stalin purged so much from Mother Russia while he was in power (people, history, etc..) that a lot of what we do know is all really just peasant tales passed down from mouth to mouth (oral history) or propaganda that Stalin directed to be made up. There's almost no history known of a lot of the fighter squadrons and infantry divisions that the Germans wiped out, simply because Stalin considered it a disgrace and acted like they never existed.
  13. You might be better off going in reverse, by finding accounts of German pilots that shot them down. I looked through my dad's extensive (1000+ reference books) collection and with the exception of a few blurbs in the Osprey books there's no real info that I have found. Even with the online searches.

    New Medals?

You've got this one for USA: http://www.acepilots.com/medals/us_ww2_medals.html and this one for Japanese: http://www.diggerhistory.info/pages-medals/jap_medals-ww2.htm Hope that helps you out!
  15. Hiya Misty! I'm still here, just working on my other pilots! Boyington is my best pilot by far, and has plenty of room to increase that ratio. You guys better check your six, I'm gaining fast!
  16. I had brought this up before StalinO, but I'm not sure if it was ever answered....
  17. I thought it might be a cool idea to give bombers a few different things, seeing how the last 2 times in a row I had a pair of FW-190's blast my bombers on the first turn, then a 4 vs 2 quickly turned into a 4 vs 0..... Has there been any thought to giving comtrols of the bomber's cards to the player, out of curiosity?
  18. Why don't bombers have skills, like Spoil Aim or Anticipation? I think skills that take cards away or that take something away from attackers that makes sense would help defend bombers a little more.
  19. When a wingman attacks a bomber, is this skill supposed to take a card away from a defending bomber? It does take a card away, but is it supposed to?
  20. The only comment I can offer to you Joe is this: I have the board game, and my brother and I played it for years after it first came out. I love it, the way campaigns played out, the specific pilot chits, everything about it. I even ordered the extra sets of cards when they were available so we could play massive homemade campaigns. This was rise of the Luftwaffe. Then the 8th Air Force came out and more of the same joy. This game is nothing like the board game, and in order to enjoy this game you have to understand that and enjoy this game for being completely different. I too was a little perplexed when I first played this game because I thought it would be more like the board game, but once I accepted this game for it's differences I enjoy this game just as much as the board game. Hopefully you will take the time to give the game a chance, I don't think you will be disappointed once you give it a chance.
  21. I'm still working on getting each pilot the top plane for his country. I was almost there, but then ya'll had to go and up the XP for some of the planes.  So it's back to work for some pilots for me. I did take a quick count Mistura and I have 9 leader pilots with 50+ kills, 3 of those with 100+ kills, and 1 of those with 150+ kills, and I have 8 leader pilots with their nation's top award, with my top ace (Boyington 151 kills) having 5 MOH's. Not quite there, but I'm working on it. I think I have to erase one of my German Pilots because the Leader died long ago and the wingie is brand new, so he'll die quickly most likely.
  22. Been busy, no time for fun and games lately
  23. My dearest chap Algy, Maybe we can get you some of those Yank gunners. Those B-17's seem to come back with more holes in their own planes from their own guns than from German shells. And there have been fewer German fighter losses this month reported by the 8th Air Force than in recent months. Perchance I may make the spring hunt after all, providing our bombers start to hit their targets more frequently. Warmest Regards, Chas.
  24. I wouldn't have a problem with a tourney like this, but I think you'd have to lay some ground rules first: 1) I think the match should last 6 turns as it does now, but if nobody has been shot down the game continues until someone has been shot down. This will help to encourage engagement instead of running and hiding to live another round. 2) No fatigue. I would not be happy if my tired ace was wasted again because someone has a fresh wingman. It's like you've been rewarded for getting shot down. 3) No target pilot. Let's keep it friendly and let the luck of whether you get out or not be the only factor.
  25. I've risked my pilots without ED on Escort missions against the AI before, and that's how I lost my last ace. He went "Down in Flames". That's why I don't do it anymore.
