  1. The Blitz will have a ladder when the game comes out.
  2. Judging by the demo, they should stick to what they do best, and so far that's not WWII Combined arms RTS.
  3. Hey they named it TheatRE of War for you Brits. Be happy.
  4. Yes, CaptainBlah, no one minds paying once to buy the game, but perhaps pbem was left out so that if you wish to play MP you'd have to pay a monthly fee like the MMPRPG games do. Silly yourself.
  5. and no pbem either. Is that because they are contemplating "pay for play"?
  6. Is that a good link? I get "page cannot be displayed"
  7. I searched but found no topic discussing this. If I'm playing a multi battle operation and order my units off the map (retreat or reform as it were) so they can live to fight another day, what are the consequences? Will they reappear in the subsequent battle or will they be gone forever?
  8. See here for more trouble shooting: http://www.battlefront.com/products/cmak/troubleshooting.html Did you rename the 1.01exe to something else and put the new 1.03 exe into the same folder that the old one was? Then, did you copy the new wav and bmp files into the original wav and bmp folders? You have to say yes to all when it asks if you wish to over write any files. Also search the CMAK forums, I seem to remember discussions on how to get around this. If all else fails uninstall/clean registry of all traces of the game/delete directory/reinstall game. But try below first. Problem: Game reports that CD needs to be inserted in order to load the game. Cause/Solution 1: The CD does have to be inserted into the CD Drive in order to launch the game. Once the game has loaded the CD can be removed. Cause/Solution 2: Make sure that Windows is not trying to launch the game in Compatibility Mode. Right click on the shortcut used to launch the game, select the Compatibility tab at the top, make sure no boxes are checked on the Compatibility Properties page. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Problem: Game reports that CD needs to be inserted in order to load the game but CD is in the CD drive. I have Windows XP/2000. Cause/Solution: Windows may have enabled "Compatibility Mode" for CMAK. This can occur if you upgrade to XP/2000 from an earlier OS of if you turned it on manually. To check this, please right click on the shortcut that points to CMAK. Select Properties and on the next page select the Compatibility tab. Now make sure none of the boxes are checked on that page. Click Apply or OK to close the window and then re-launch the game. [ January 31, 2006, 05:53 AM: Message edited by: MD82 ]
  9. Thank you for taking the time for such a detailed answer. Apparently the first install of the drivers was corrupted. I deleted and reinstalled the drivers, CMAK and cleaned the registry thoroughly. After installing the game for the 2nd time it works. Thanks again for your effort.
  10. Well, I updated my Ati 9700 pro drivers to the latest DNA4.4.5.10 drivers. AK now tries to start, says it needs at least 800x600 (desktop res is 1024x764) and quits. Reinstalled vid drivers-no luck reinstalled direct x 9c-no luck cleaned registry of old drivers-no luck reinstalled CMAK-no luck restored system save to an earlier point-no luck Anyone got any luck for me?
  11. The problem with patching the cdv CMAK to 1.03 is that the patch makes a new folder called, logically enough, "new folder". This is made under the Run folder. The Run folder contains the CMAK 1.01.exe. In this new folder are the new CMAK 1.03.exe, wav, and bmp files. I renamed the 1.01.exe and moved the 1.03 from the "new folder" to the Run folder, and I merged the new bmp and wav contents with the originals in the Run folder. Simple huh? Tim Hughes you're correct. This could have been spelled out in the readme file.
  12. Yes, that definitly screws it up. It must follow the 3 digit convention sequentially in order for PBEM to function properly.
  13. 1 Go to Games in Progress 2 High light game that you wish to edit (make it blue) 3 Hit F2 4 Type in your password in the space provided near the bottom. 5 Click OK You should be set then
  14. Actually this is pretty much what happened at the original event.
  15. Yskonyn, could you please mail me a pdf version of "getting running with Pbem helper" to mrowley at yahoo.com? Thank you.
  16. Hmmm, let me see. If I try real hard I might be able to. But thanks to the kind efforts of Martin and Matt I don't have to! Cheers and Merry Christmas to all.
  17. Less than helpful answer junk, as I already have a cd but thanks for trying.
  18. I have CDV's Combat Mission Anthology which has all 3 CM games. I would like to get a full 266 page printed manual BUT the Anthology just comes with a skimpy PDF manual so obviously I don't have a CDV cover to mail in. Is there a way I can purchace manual from BattleFront under these circumstances?
