  1. Using the manual is also a good idea eg. page 67 List of Abbreviations: BKS - Armour piercing hollow charge BPS - Sub-caliber armour piercing OFS - High explosive shell UR - Guided missile P - Co-axial machine gun PZU - Anti-aircraft machine gun
  2. We are not talking about the same type of projectile here though are we? The in-game rounds have a significantly larger payload than the peashooter RPG they used on that Abrams. Looks like the second tank didn't do so well though!
  3. Messing with your driver like that can be dangerous, I feel sorry for him. Its often much easier to drive the tank yourself and stop in a hull down position and move to the gunner position to pick off targets. If you are shooting targets on the move do the driving yourself and get the commander to spot and call out targets which the gunner will automatically shoot at.
  4. A belated Merry Christmas to everyone and a happy tanking New Year to all. That tank looks like mine at the end of most missions Schmeisser
  5. I think the Bridge at Remagen film had a running tank battle right at the start that looked impressive with a German and US armoured column racing to get to a bridge on either side of the Rhine and blasting away at each other across the river. There must be some 8th Army desert type movies with tanks, but I cannot remember the movie names right now. [ December 22, 2005, 12:24 PM: Message edited by: Tankbuster ]
  6. Finished all the single player and training missions but only on mission 8 of the campaign. Some of those campaign missions are really tough. I was stuck on mission 4 for two months
  7. Thanks! FPS seem a bit faster and I can up the graphics settings somewhat - has there been some optimization of the code??
  8. Superbly done! Nice compression on that movie without too many jaggies showing up, in fact I could not see any at all - very smooth. Good angles on the tank views and edited very well. Loved the music scoring. Definately a great trailer for the game
  9. Notice how a "hopefully" crept into Moon's message there about the new tank. Could you make that an "almost certainly" or, even better, an "undoubtedly"
  10. I never got the game freeze, but I expect this will be a great patch for those that did. The other tweaks sound useful though so this will be a welcome patch in any case. Thanks for the update.
  11. Not sure if this is old news here or not (could not find anything with a search) but this link to info. on the T-72 sequel was posted up on the SimHQ T-72 forum. Looks very interesting! Crazy House - Scorched Earth
  12. Never heard of that one Schmeisser,it does look pretty detailed for its time. I think I was messing around with a Sinclair ZX Spectrum at the time and early space sims - ahh the good old days!
  13. Great detail in those pics, many thanks!
  14. Very nice pics - lets see some more high res ones. Are there any internal shots?
  15. I can speak fluent English and nowt else, even though I am possibly Welsh in origin!
  16. Do you think this is what we get in the patch Very nice, although it could be difficult persuading my wife that the new house extension is required for my simulator - worth a try though
  17. Check your map (F11) it should show you what the targets are. On that first one you just need to take out the anti-tank gun and gunners and possibly some soldiers running around. Don't bother blowing up the buildings
  18. Your are indeed famous in Poland at any rate Very nicely composed pictures. I assume the review says this is the greatest sim since IL-2 ???
  19. Yup, open country is fine and I am happy to leave the AI to blunder around on his own when faced with a vast grassland to cross with nothing more than shrubs to run over, but letting him do his own thing on a narrow road, in a town or village, or in any other confined situation is asking for trouble. I reckon that guy has a stash of vodka in the turret somewhere
  20. Thanks Schmeisser - I'm really looking forward to the Column mission then, I just love suicide missions Sounds like you had the same fun as me trying to finish this one. Latest try, they shot out my transmission, second gear only, 3rd gear results in a crazy spin. T-55s appear-death I'm actually finding this mission hilarious now, so many ways to die and so many variations on the same mission. The AI never do the same thing twice - unfortunately.
  21. Dammit  I was actually in sight of the checkpoint finish after taking out the three T-34s and the jeep this time, then a T-55 appears through the trees on the way back, takes one lucky shot and busts my engine the arrow in the screenie is on the checkpoint, feel my pain brothers - I need alcohol, NOW!! (this game is bad for my health) [ October 16, 2005, 12:15 PM: Message edited by: Tankbuster ]
  22. Moon - Thanks for the update, sounds good to me, I will probably still be on Mission 4 by the time that lot comes out anyway
  23. I have tried this one 10 times now over two days and it is driving me nuts, literally! This is the one where you have to take out the agent driving a jeep out of the village. I must have tried every route and tactic I can think of including pure stealth (in a tank, are you kiddin??). I can usually snipe the three T-34s from a favourite vantage point hull-down, but every time I move in to take out the agent those two dammed T-55s see me and come tearing over to check me out and fill me full of holes. Anyone got any good tactics for this one ??
  24. I tend to drive everywhere myself now and then switch to gunner when necessary. I just don't trust the AI driver to work it out. I've seen loads of AI drivers commit suicide, particularly the crazy APC drivers, by going too fast over rough terrain, then they turn into a fiery ball as they roll over downhill
