  1. That's interesting. Let me download that one and check for myself. What scenario are you playing?

I know thigns have become mroe complicated with the new engine, but that's what people wanted. And - frankly - it's the modder's job to keep their mods updated. If they don't do that... well, no more functioning mods. Been like that for every other game out there when patches changed things.

  2. My guess is you're playing GL scenarios - which use a dedicated texture set for vehicles with a different texture name.

The 'basic' mods (which you installed) are for Sicily ONLY. If you want those mods to show up in GL scenarios, every old texture needs a '[mainland]' tag.

    Does that answer your question?

  3. Good initiative - if we take the time modding we should make sure the vehicle in question looking like it should be. You might also have noticed that there are actually quite a lot of bolts missing from the stock texture in case of the 233 and that the model isn't really depicting a certain variant but rather a mixture of the early, mid and late one (if you want to call them such).

And I wrote you a PM concerning your question.

  4. The Panzer tracts volumes are more or less the best out there. The older ones aren't that accurate anymore though, but the research that went into them is simply astounding.

I for one use them when doing textures from scratch - or other volumes with similar levels of detail. Sometimes the 3D model isn't quite so detailed or has some issues, but nothing is perfect.

    Panther looks awesome!

  5. Well except for the panthers which nobody saw but 1 picture, the StuG and JagdPzrIV’s were the only ones close to being done.

That may be so, but even the not finished stuff looked very good and still does in my opinion. But maybe I got a different taste.

Now I will admit nothing I do can be compared to the amount of outstanding work done by the people who actually make the graphic. These people desire the kudos, without them there would be no me.

I wouldn't say that - you put at least as many hous into the weathering as we put into creating the textures in the first place. Can't say I could do the same even if I tried. But if the stock textures were perfect, you modders had nothing to do anymore... :D

  6. I still have all your pre-2.0 stuff and can only say it still looks and works great! Especially what you did to my StuG textures... *thumbs up*

The new stuff you're doing looks even better, no question, but in your situation there are only two solutions: Either give up modding once and for all or swallow it down and start from scratch. You wouldn't believe how often I lost ALL of my data to hardware failures...

  7. The easiest way is to unpack the data files and then check the new naming conventions for yourself - a halfway exhaustive list would be far too long to post here.

As far as I can tell right now, everything has been renamed and uniforms for the different ranks (NCOs, junior officers, senior officers etc.) have been added as well. I THINK the gear ahsn't been renamed, but will have to check that myself.

  8. Very nice. Good work!

Oh, and we're no gods or something, just doing what we can to make a good game. Actually there are a lot of graphics artists out there whose talent makes my cry when I look at my attempts at creating textures... :D

Anyway, thanks for the laurels, but you deserve some too. And one of those days you may even be asked to come aboard - who knows?

  9. Again thanks for hanging on to those files. Your a life saver.

I usually keep EVERYTHING important somewhere safe in case I need to do a complete wipe of my system. Just hadn't left it where I thought it was.

Now i just have to figure out how i did what i did as strange as that sounds.

You'll most likely do better this time around. As long as the 'new' stuff doesn't look too different from the 'old' stuff, everything's fine.

Which reminds me that I need to upload a bunch of CMFI StuG templates to the Repository...
