  1. I appreciate the feedback guy's.

I have updated that whitewashed PzIV-H, tried to tone down the brightness on the skirts and rear engine deck. It's about equal with the G model in that regard now.

Well That should give me all the PanzerIV's other then the C, D and J model in a winterized state with newer updated artwork.

I don't know if MikeyD is going to redraw the C and D model or not. I have been playing with Andrew's ambush pzIV-J camo model, but not having very good luck with it, one problem I'm having with it is that layer of dust on the bottom of the hull skirt.

I'd like to do more with camo but I haven't a clue on how to use layers in PSP, which would help a lot in that regard.

  2. I for one never expected the new game engine to cover say the whole war in one release, that never even happened with the first game engine.

What I'm saying is I'm not in anyway shape or form going to buy 20 bloody small games or so called modules if like, that say are run seperate from each other in a self contained context.

Frankly I wouldn't be all that much interested in this idea even if these so called modules run under one frontend, which doesn't sound like what they have in mind.

If they have in mind to say make separate games (modules) that only covers say the early wwII Polish campaign then say another covering the German invasion of France, and another covering the Finnish winter war.

Then even worse, say on the eastern front have a module that covers only the operation Barbarossa and another for operation Typhoon and on and on.

This will not interest me at all, and also that would start to add up to some real payout of cash to say the least to playout the entire period of the second world war, and we all should know that this is the war that will be covered at first.

  3. Frankly I've been staying out of these discussions about something don't even exist yet.

But from what I'm reading I have to say I'm not happy with what I'm seeing.

I'm not going to buy into somekind of module type system that is say, a bunch of a mini type games covering short little time periods per module.

That would just to cumbersome and a headache to use.

So it sounds like combat mission ends for me with the current engine.

    All things have an end.

  4. I had a try at whitewashing MikeyD's new PanzerIV-H.

    deymdwwpz4h1rb.th.jpg

I'm begining to wonder if this version my be a little to bright at the moment, though I don't know if there is much I could do with it right now.

I'm having a hell of a time with my PC in regards to logging on to my ISP, something is mega screwed up in how my motherboard, modem and soundcard are interacting with each other.

My PC just reboots when I try to log onto my ISP, and the rare time I can get on I never know when a reboot is going to happen.

I also uploaded a try at camouflaging MikeyD's yellow PanzerIV-F2, it's not much, though it's only about my second attempt to camouflage an AFV.

  5. Thanks for the comments guys, I only hope you feel the same way after you see it in game.

Aragorn2002, the cmmods site gets a little twitchy at times and odd things happen, one of them is the counter.

One other odd thing with the counter, I have updated stuff before that showed x downloads and after uploading the new file, the downloads drop about 20% from the previous number.

For me anyway how many times it was downloaded isn't as important as how BMP folders the mod stays in.

The other odd thing to happen is like what happen to me yesterday, just after I uploaded the PzIV I couldn't get logged back on to cmmods for the life of me.

Then to top it off yesterday, my PC freaked out and I couldn't get logged back on the internet, as soon as the modem tried to dial my ISP, the computer would reboot, which has been somewhat of a problem for me for a couple of month's, but yesterday it took me about 8 straight hours of fighting with this damn thing to get back on the internet.

I haven't a clue what is going on there.

    Hell of day that was.

  6. Well those 250/11's were done back quite awhile ago now, with shareware graphic software.

I feel they're adequate I suppose, but could be better.

As far as I can remember you're only the second person that I ever got any feedback on in regard to that mod.

Take this new stuff I uploaded over the last few days, the only feedback I've received has been from MikeyD.

They're being downloading but whether they stay in the BMP folder, is anybody's guess.

  7. I gave a try at whitewashing these AFV's about 6 months ago, they aren't very good but as far as I know these are the only whitewashed versions around.

Look under my handle "daffy" over to cmmods or search in cmbb for "DEY_WW_Grey_SPW250-11".

I hope to have another go at whitewashing them with PSP this time, hopefully this summer.

I also just uploaded those standalone 28mm squeeze bored guns in a whitewash in the last few days.

  8. I thought I'd post some availability time factors for these ammo types in cmbb and what guns and AFV's are allowed these type's of ammo.

This is for those newbie types who want to make a scenario or play a QB.

    First is Hollow Charge (HC).

For the Germans this ammo type isn't available until Dec/41.

The Guns allowed this ammo type are:

    75mm 97/38 AT Gun

    75mm & 150mm IG

    75mm & 105mm Howitzer

    75mm & 105mm Recoilless Rifle

    88mm Raketenwerfer 43 puppchen, available starting Jan/43

The 37mm Pak36 AT Gun has a special HC round made for it and is available starting Jan/42

AFV's allowed this ammo type are:

    PzIV-C,D,E,F

    StugIII-B,E

    15cm sig33 Auf Pzkw1B

    PzIII-N

    Wespe

    Grille's

    Stuh42's

    Brummbar's

    Hummel

    SPW250/8 HT

    Spw251/9 Stummel HT

    PSW 233 Heavy AC

    PSW 234/3 Heavy AC

For the AFV's the heat ammo is available either starting in Dec/41 or when the AFV is first available after Dec/41, either way they have HC ammo until May/45.

The Romanians have only a couple of things with HC ammo.

    Two Guns:

76.2mm m1939 F-22 Gun, is available with HC ammo right from June/41 on.

75mm 97/38 AT Gun, has HC ammo starting in Dec/41

    The only AFV is the:

    T3, available in Sept/42

The Italians have only one gun that has HC ammo and it is the:

    75mm 97/38 AT Gun, available starting May/42

The Hungarians have no guns and only two AFV's with HC ammo and they are the:

    PzIV-F, available in July/42

    Zrinyi II

I may very well have missed something but it's pretty darn complete as far as I can see.

I'll do the tungsten a little later on.

  9. I thought for the life of me that you couldn't carry over ammo loads into different time periods that the ammo type wasn't available but it appears you can in this regard.

Though in cmbb it doesn't seem For the Russians you can go, say, into 44 and bring back tungsten loaded AFV's back into 43, the tungsten seems to disappear when I try that.

Just in case anyone is interested in time priods for tungsten availability for the germans in regards to the editor at least.

Tungsten isn't available until Jan/42 and for the most part the option is gone starting in Jan/44.

    The execptions to that are:

All the Marders, they have a tungsten option until Dec/44.

The PzIIIm has the option until the end of the war, actually all the pzIII's has that option until May/45.

The short barrel gunned JagdPanzer IV has the option until Dec/44.

The only other exception I can find to this is the squeeze barreled 28mm AT gun, being that it's the only ammo type it can fire has tungsten ammo throughout the war.

And again it does appear with the Germans at least that you can go into a time period that tungsten available and load up your gun or AFV with tungsten and then reset the date, and keep that ammo.

Also in case anyone is interested HC ammo isn't available until Dec/41 and as far as I know is available from then on till the end of the war.

  10. Hot damn, we're getting some great looking artwork on the cm battlefields now.

I'm in the process of downloaded all the mark III's this afternoon.

Just to let ya know I've renumbered and converted the two grey PzIV-F models for the Hungarians, with the option for either the diamond or cross.

    hungreypz48ml.th.jpg

I'm experimenting with a dirt look on the model F, but I think I'll drop this for now and maybe see If I can winterize the PzIII's.

  11. Here are a few more, I done a very last refinement on mikeyD's russian shermans and king tiger. These are absolutely finished. I also did a quick whitewash on the cmak yellow german truck and gun tractor. smile.gif

    deywwstuff3jh.th.jpg

I've been waiting for Todd to get cmmods back up, I have about 25 mods ready right now, so I don't know which to try to have accessible. If cmmods isn't back up this weekend, I'll see if I can send that panther to zimorodok and maybe the... ??!!

    Yes, it would, wouldn't it?

It sure would, wouldn't it for sure. tongue.gif

I know something else I'd like to see is a high res redrawn jagdpanzer IV for cmbb, I like that turretless bugger.

Also if not a redrawn panther, at least a new high res road gear would be nice.

  13. I didn't think there was much hope for this whitewash effect on this early jagdpanzer, but after playing around with it today I think it looks pretty good now.

I did a minor color correction and toned down that nose bleed brightness several notches.

I uploaded to Zimorodok, so hopefully he'll repost this newer version in a day or two.

Just look for this new screenie over there.

  14. Thanks guys I hope you feel the same way after ya see them in game.

MikeyD I'm glad you feel they're worthy of your " Abso-freakin-lutely fantastic! " artwork. :D

I'm kinda looking at doing a new winter look project now, for the cmbb armor and vehicles based on as much of the newer artwork that's been out since cmbb has been released as possible. smile.gif

  15. As in completed, not the country. tongue.gif

I have a bunch of PzIV's in a whitewash, ready to be uploaded.

    wwyellowpz4s9pz.th.jpg

All of the above yellow ones are done on MikeyD's artwork but the one in the upper left corner is the D-model I recolored from the desert cmak.

    wwgreypz4s1xg.th.jpg

The above grey based PzIV's are all done on MikeyD's artwork, I tried to get a more uneven brushed applied appearance on most of these.

  16. I played around with this some more, had 4 elite crewed B-2 dive bombers in a test battle same map as above, there is or never was any AA assets.

Again the aircraft will make those high pitched screaming howls as to indicate it's making a bombing run, but nothing more happens. You can see the shadow of the plane going across the map, but it doesn't seem to pick a target on that fly over.

So there does appear to be another bug here, odd I guess in all the time I've had BB I never used this aircraft yet.
