  1. I got my final inspiration to do this from this thread here,

    http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=44160

I feel that this Eugenio is credible, he states the color as a more medium green.

I have also seen color drawings depicting this color scheme on the Tankettes, in fact I have a book with a color drawing of a L.6/40 and it is in a lighter green base color.

It appears that the Italians stopped painting in this green color (armor at least) starting in early 1942.

So the green color scheme for the armor and guns has some base in historical fact.

And besides it's an alterative option and choice is always a good thing.

Some interesting stuff on the CSIR and ARMIR,

  2. "CMMOS", where is this site at.

You should always keep all the mods ya download and burn them on a CD, saves from having to track them down and redownload them in the future.

AS I Stated Before All The GERMAN Grey AA Guns ARE USED by the other COUNTRIES, the Hungarian 40mm is in fact a shared hardcoded grey German 37mm AA gun, so whatever is done to the bmps for the German gun would be reflected upon the Hungarian 40mm as well.

If you check the Romanian and Russia 37mm AA gun, you should see them screwed up also.

So it would seem you have screwed up BMP's for the grey German 20mm and 37mm AA guns.

Is this problem happening with summer or winter versions or both.

The bmp's for the grey German 37mm should be I think,

    3920 - 3928

  3. The grey German AA guns are used by all the other countries, including the Russians.

The Yellow as far as I can remember are used only by the Germans.

I gather that the BMP's in your bmp folder is in number form only.

Mod mangers can give a lot of these kind of problems also.

I take it everything was all right before you install this mod.

Which mod is it that you where trying to install.

  4. It would appear that this point of view is not unique to just here.

It seems that the F was an interim model that had so many ordered, then when that order was completed the G disignation came into play.

BFC could've just given the early G-model a name disignation like F2/G

But like I said having two different tanks lets the modders have two different looks for those AFV's.

Though if BFC hadn't included a separate hardcoded F2, they could've then been able to code, say a real BT42 for the Finn's or given a captured Russian tank to the Italians, such as a T34 which would have made the game play with them a little more fun.

But thats the way it is.

  5. Below is from http://www.achtungpanzer.com/pz3.htm

From April of 1941 to March of 1942, 487 of another variant Ausf F1(F) were producedby Krupp-Gruson along with Vomag and Nibelungenwerke. Ausf F1 was the last of Panzerkampfwagen IVs based on the short version chassis and armed with 75mm L/24 gun. In March of 1942, 25 of Ausf F1s were later converted to Ausf F2s. Ausf F also featured new turret design, drive sprocket and idler. Ausf F was also fitted with 400mm wide tracks instead of old 360mm wide one. Overall, Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf A to F1 were designated Sd.Kfz.161 and were all armed with short 75mm KwK 37 L/24 gun.

In March of 1942, next variant Ausf F2 was produced, followed by Ausf G in May. Current research shows that in reality designation Ausf F2 was not used when describing Ausf F armed with 75mm L/43 gun and instead tanks known as Ausf F2 were in fact early Ausf G tanks. Ausf F2 and Ausf G variants were based on the long version PzKpfw IV chassis and were armed with newer 75mm KwK 40 L/43 gun (that was able to compete with Soviet T-34s armed with 76.2mm gun). When encountered in North Africa, British nicknamed Ausf F2 (early Ausf G) - "Mark IV Special", since it was superior to any American or British tank at the time. The installation of the new gun increased the overall weight of the tank and reduced its speed. Both Ausf F(F1) and Ausf F2 were identical except for their armament. Ausf F2's new 75mm L/43 gun was mounted with single baffle muzzle brake

Below this is from a rather lackluster armor book I have "The Worlds Greatest Tanks".

The first PzKpfw IV to recieve the new gun was to have been the Ausf F, but by the time the new model was ready to go into production, the gun still was not available, and the old L/24 weapon was used instead. Whwn the L/43 version became available in February 1942, after 460 of the 650 Ausf F's originally ordered had been completed, the tanks that received it became know as the Ausf F2, and the originals were redesignated as Ausf F1's. The new gun was somewhat heavier than the L/24, and it's extra length made the tank a lttle nose heavy. This problem was exacerbated when the L/48 cannon, with it's 375mm (14.8in) of extra barrel length replaced the the L/43 in the Ausf H. At that point, modifiactions where made to the front suspension, supplementary coil springs being fitted.

The Ausf G replaced the Ausf F2 in May 1943. There was really only very minor differences between the two. Over the course of the next 10 months a total of almost 1700 Ausf G's were built, before this model was superseded by the Ausf H in March 1943.

It would seem there is some slight mistakes from both these sources, though I could be wrong. ;)

It seems to me that the Ausf F was indeed built on the longer chassis, and was meant to be equipped with the L/43 gun, right from get go but the longer barreled gun wasn't ready so they had to use the short gun L/24 until the other was set to go.

There is a lot of speculation about the F1-F2 thing, some say because the longer gun wasn't ready, played a big part in this type of model naming, because all the F models ordered was supposed to been equipped with the L/43 gun.

Even more speculation with the F2-G models, from what I read the G- model is anything from a slight manufacture line progession to some major differences from the F-model.

For one thing I've read comments that this model at some point and time was uparmored to 60mm front armor which doesn't seem to happen with any of the models in the game.

The big thing is that the way things turned out in the game from Battlefront is that we can have a different look for the two tank models so thats a good thing right. :D

  6. What little info I can find seems to indicate that the ammo type was only HE, I read an account from a veteran that stated that this AFV could disable a Tiger tank, but only if it was in close proximity.

I would think a 40lb heat round would do more then disable a Tiger.

Also the mortar had to be loaded as any mortar is loaded, meaning someone had to expose themselve outside to load the thing.

According to this site the Brits didn't have HESH ammo until after WW2

  7. Well as I stated many times I hope some of you guys find some of this stuff useful.

Here is a pic of the road gear I made from a 3d model from the net, I did post a pic in another earlier thread of the KV-1S with this road gear also, actually this road gear is for the newer KV tanks but I figured what the hell.

    kvrg1hy.th.jpg

After some thought I didn't think it would be a good idea to make this public, maybe I'll try and get permission to post it.

Though the way things are someone should give last rights here, this community is as dead as a door nail.

  8. They're nothing special, but a new and different look for now anyway.

    I did a version of the KV-1 Model-39 and the KV-1S and 8S-Flame, the 1S & 8S use the same hardcoded tank.

They're made from BFC's original artwork.

I did have a different road gear that I made from a 3d model off the net, but I don't think I should post these to the public.

So for now I've posted these versions with MikeyD's KV-85 summer road gear, recolored for a winter look.

    wwkv1m391s8s2bj.th.jpg

I was going to wait and post all them at the same time, but I run into some strange stuff with the other models.

The Model-40 shares several turret bmps with the 1E model, while almost everything else is shared with the Model-41 other then 2 unique bmps, that the 1E has of it's own.

The Model-41 and 8-Flame uses the same hardcoded tank.

I'm going to try to do them with as much of a different look between them as possible, but it doesn't look to good in that regard.

  9. I was the first to download your gelb model-D, I'd be more then willing to bet that they would have been the hardest model of the pzIV's to draw on, a lot of strange angles, twist and turns on them, great shot traps also.

Damn fine job, what would the game be now without your effort. :D

Ah..!!, another hobby may be easier eh, but would it be as much hel...er.. fun!?, ya thats it fun!. tongue.gif

  10. I uploaded a couple of different mods today, all based again on MikeyD's great base art.

Firstly I tried to do something with that Finnish PzIV I posted earlier, hopefully this is a little better at least.

For the Finnish T34-m41, I just reworked MikeyD's model that was recolored by Limey.

The German PzIV-G is something I was playing around with earlier. I didn't share it because I wasn't very happy with it, but since there isn't any other camo'ed version being posted, I thought I'd post it for now.

  11. Hi All, Thanks for your comments I appreciate them.

I haven't actually touched cmak in months, I was looking at getting into it this fall though, by first off getting all those amazing mods of yours Mike, amongest others.

Frankly I pale big time in my whitewhasing as opposed to holding a candle to your efforts, as you, Andrew and Bogdan are the kings of whitewash.

    I'm just a hogwasher.

I'm looking at giving the russki KV tanks a winterized look at the momment.

Here is a screenie of a WIP 1S model.

    deywwkv1s1kw.th.jpg

  12. The only thing that can be modded in the combat mission games is most of the skin artwork, which is in a bitmap form on the hardcoded entities in the game.

There is no way to change or add to the coding in the game engine, ie: say make a pantherII with the 88mm gun, or, as your asking, change say a mauser98 to function as a semi-auto gewehr 41/43.

  13. I'm still around for the moment, posted several more mods recently.

Been playing around mostly lately having a go at some whitewashed looks for the earlier Russian T34's, done on MikeyD's artwork of course.

    sovietwintert34snogrud9cc.th.jpg

    I have a winterized version for the m40, m41, m41(cast turret), m41/57, m43, m43(early), m43(late), OT34-m43, m43/57.

I reposted an update of the m43(early), I done a slight recolor of the road gear.

Note that the model-43 & model-43(early) has only one hard coded tank, so the BMP skin is the same for both models.

This also is the case for the model-42 and OT34-m42 and the Model-43(late) and OT34-m43.

I also hope some of you who downloaded my snow covered open ground mods are finding them useful and are still using them, though some may find the deeper snow mod to bright.

Lastly I was trying for a mono green base color for the Finnish Stug awhile back, I keep this look for now with a few refinements.

From what I understand is, that the second batch of stugs received in the summer of 44 was just given a overspray of a green color.

    fingrenstug31vx.th.jpg

It's nothing special, maybe if I'm still around later I can try a different look.

  14. "if there is any other alternatives around".

Well I can think of at least four right off the top of my noggin.

Tracer has reposted a winterized version of the SU-100 at cmmods, so that should also include the SU-85m, being that they both share the same hardcoded entity.

UncleTgt has just recently posted at cmmods, a whitewashed version of the SU-85.

And as Patboy states above he made an excellent whitewashed SU-85, that he has posted at zimorodok's.

I made a whitewashed version of the SU-85m and SU-100 earlier this winter also and this is posted at cmmods.

Actually there are two hardcoded model setup's in cmbb for these AFV's, one hardcoded entity for the su-85 and another one that is shared by the su-85m and su-100.

  15. I must say I'm rather overwhelemed by all the response, though it appears some people are a little confused about what the problem is.

I have fought the system and lost, there is no more fighting left to be had with the Ontario WSIB in regards to the income supplement.

Though I could fight them still in regards of my low chronic pain award rating but that would only be considered from the time I make a new reassement request, there would be no back date before that considered.

This would take a lot of effort and time and would likely only get me another 5% boast to my already 20% rating, this would equal about another $100 bucks a month, hardly worth the bother.

My options are very limited as to what I can do now, there is a Federal pension (Canada Pension)that has a disability category in it. I'm going to look into that, but it doesn't pay out too much and I may be ineligible for it, apparentlly your suppose to apply for this within two years of when you stopped working.

I haven't worked since 1990, and I was dealing with the entity that was responsible for my situation ( an worker compensation board for a work injury ), so way anyone would want to get another enitiy involved at that point has me baffled.

Plus I didn't even know Canada Pension had this category until a few years ago.

Hopefully what I was told about a Late File provision for the Canada Pension is true.

I just don't know how much longer I can keep my internet connection going. I have a god awful connection setup here, it's only 28K dialup and it's almost $30 damn bucks a month.

I apperciate all the comments and I hope what little bit I did helped you enjoy the game a little bit more.

As it stands at the moment I may be around for a little while more, or not.

Things are sorta in a state of here today, but likely gone forever the next day.

At least I said my good-bye here in this thread.

  16. Of course I was a resident of Onatrio too until several years ago, I was hurt on a job in the late 80's in Toronto, fought with that entity that calls itself now, the Workplace Safty and Insurance Board, (notice there isn't the word compensation in that entities title anymore) for help, finally got some in 1992 struggled with retraining as a computer tech, but my health deteriorated so much I couldn't follow through on this, so the board shut off my training money in November 1998, I had a small pension of $100 bucks a month to live on, tried to get help from social services, while I fought with the WSIB, got next to no where there, also had the provincal disability denied of course( funny though in 92 I had to get help from social services in Toronto and they couldn't have gotten me on that $900 buck a month disability fast enough, then I had to fight with them to get off of it when the help from workers comp finally come through for me in the summer of 1992).

So I had to leave Ontario in the latter part of 1999, (it's pretty darn rough trying to live in a city like Toronto on a whole $100 bucks a month income) and come back to new brunswick and sponge off my father, then he up and died on me in 2001 from cancer.

But I was able to get an legal aid outfit in Toronto to help with this just before I left, the Board dragged it out until a Ministry Of Labour hearing this spring, which of course denied everything and anything that I requested.

So now I only have $200 dollar a month income, from a 20% chronic pain award( the WSIB did finally give me a reassement for my medical in 2002 which bumped my pension up another whole 100 bucks a month) and I'm just unable to work anymore.

I was counting on a $600 buck a month income supplement which should have been back dated from Nov/98 and a further increase in my pension of about $200 bucks a month.

Thank you very much Mr Mike Harris.

I have so much to look forward to now, the savings from my fathers estate is all but gone. Though here in New Brunswick I can live it up on $400 bucks a month on welfare, I'd sooner put a 30.06 round through my head.

So I'm going to have to leave, and maybe more then just a game community.
