  1. I gave a try at improving the whitewashed Hungarian built AFV's. They have been posted for a few days now, I'm still very unhappy with them, PSP just doesn't like that type of color and texture, but at least they are an improvement over the previous awful versions.

I also felt the Romanians where long over due some of MikeyD's great artwork so I converted his grey and yellow stugIII's into the TA-Assault GUN.

I've also giving a first try at a dirty and dusty effect, though the MikeyD's grey stug did have a light dirt affect applied already.

I believe you can't get the TA-AG's until august/44 in the game though.

Info I've run across states that the Romanians started to get these AFV's in fall/43.

I could delete and repost the clean versions if you think that dirt and dust effect sucks eggs.

  2. I just checked the cmmos packs again.

The russian pack does have all the russian built guns in a whitewash.

There is three versions of that long barrel 76.2mm AT gun, but there is only one hardcoded gun for all versions of it, including the axis captured versions. It appears that the winter BMP set for this gun is 64180-64191, the 57mm AT appears to be numbered 63980-63191.

Also the 45mm m38, m42 AT and short barrel 76.2mm m27/39, m43 are in this pack in a whitewashed form.

Any of the rest of the Soviet guns are shared versions of the hard coded German guns, which use the dunkelgrau color throughout the war. Actually it appears that any of the German shared guns by either the Russians or Axis minors all stay in the grey color throughout the war.

I see the gun shield for the Italian 65mm Mtn gun in the German Yellow gun cmmos pack, it's numbered 62305.

And bmp 62289 appears to be the wheel for the Italian and Romanian 47mm AT gun.

And the grey version also as stated works fine.

So I suggest you try copying again, reworked non cmmos bmps and then doing a bmp to bmp comparison afterwards of the ones copied into the bmp folder with the reworked bmps from the packs.

In regards to the non painted gun barrels of the AA guns, they may had not been painted by the modder, I know my versions in the flaktrack packs aren't. smile.gif

  3. All the guns other then the German 20mm Heavy AT Rifle and the Romanian 25mm AA gun are included in the those German Grey and Yellow cmmos packs.

And I believe any unique Russian gun is already whitewashed in that Russian gun cmmos pack.

There is a lot of sharing going in respect to the guns in cmbb.

I'll try to point out as many as I can think of.

The Hungarian, Finnish 40mm AA gun, the Romanian and Russian 37mm AA gun is actually the German hard coded 37mm AA gun that is shared by all the previous parties mentioned. The russian one stays in dunkelgrau throughout the war.

All the 20mm AA guns is also the German hardcoded 20mm AA gun shared with all the other countries, (including the Russian 25mm, which I believe stays in the dunkelgrau(grey) color through out the war).

The Italian 75mm and Russian 76.2mm, 85mm AA guns is the hardcoded German 88mm gun being shared with the previous stated, also I believe that the italian and russian guns stay in the dunkelgrau color throughout the war.

Any captured guns are the actual respected original owners hardcoded guns being shared, ie: the Finnish m27/39 gun is in fact the Russian hardcoded gun being shared.

Actually mostly all the Axis guns are shared versions of German hardcoded guns, except for the 45mm At guns which is a shared Russian gun. Also except of course capture Russian guns, which can ya guess, are shared hardcoded Russian guns.

As far as some of the Italian guns goes, it appears that this country just uses the one color bmp scheme, which in this case is in the dunkelgelb(yellow) color. So those gune are in the dunkelgelb cmmos pack.

I'm using all the Guns from those cmmos packs other then, of course my versions of the German 37mm AA and the 150mm inf gun drawn by Andrew Fox.

You need the German grey(grau) and yellow(gelb) gun pack and the Russian gun pack and all that isn't in a whitewash will be those two guns I mentioned at the start of this rant. smile.gif

I forgot to mention that I have the North American CDV 103 SE release version and after I reworked the above stated packs and dropped them into my BMP folder I had all the guns whitewashed other then those two mentioned. :D

  4. 1. German 38 (T)E & G tanks (my turrets are whitewashed and so are a few minor parts, but the rest of these tanks are not).
There is a work around for this you need to find a winterized version of this AFV, then take a copy of the 6216* numbers and renumber them as follows,

    62160 to 65220

    62161 to 65221

    62165 to 65225

There is a small visual glitch in the front but it's nothing major, it's just that there needs to be a little reworking done on the BMP's.

There are these cmmos packs made up by Gorden Molek that has about 90% of everything in a whitewashed effect here.

    Winterized German Units

All you need to do is extract thses zips to a working folder and crop off the _ww off the ends of the numbers and then move these reworked numbers into your BMP folder.

    2. German heavy ATR
As far as I can tell nobody has ever been bothered with winterizing this little puppy. If I knew the bmp set I'd maybe take a crack at it.

    3. German and Soviet 37 mm flak gun (barrel needs winter camo)
As stated above the German stuff is at that link and Soviet stuff is at this link.

    Soviet winterized stuff

Again as above just crop off the _ww off the cmmos'ed numbers.

As for all the rest they would be taking care of if you download those cmmos packs and rework them into non cmmos form and drop the stuff into your BMP folder.

Then of course you can overwrite with newer versions of units as time marches on.

  5. Just tap the Print Screen key and that well save whatever is on screen in a BMP form I believe.

Then go into an graphic editor, the windows Paint program well do, usually in the edit sections of these programs you should see a Paste option, that well place a copy of the capture in the graphic editor to be edited and or just saved as what ever format pic you want.

Just be advised that this option well only save one screen cap at a time, so you have to save every cap into a picture before making another one or the previous attempt will be overwritten.

There are some 3rd party software that well let you save many screen caps at a time, try doing a search here and on the internet for these.

  6. Thanks DavidI, Spartan1, I'm glad you think they're useful to ya. :D

David, I was just thinking about the hungarians and cmbb, after your comments about my winterized stuff for them. Have you tried either one or both of my Hungarian scenarios at The Scenario Depot.

They are DEY-No Goulash for Ivan-V2 and DEY-Hungary Pains, the briefings aren't very good in these versions but I think they're good enough to be able to play them, as these were the versions playtested at the proving grounds. These aren't winter battles though, but playtester's at the provings grounds had lots of fun with them.

I actually have around a dozen secnarios posted at The Scenario Depot, some need improved briefings, which I hope to do in the near future. smile.gif

And a delayed thanks to blazing 88's for his kind words. :D

  7. Hi all just to let anybody interested that I've updated a couple of my battles over to The Scenario Depot

My DEY The King Has Arrived scenario has been updated for an Single player contest and Two player contest.

I tried to give the single player human controlled german version (SP) an harder though more fun fight, and playtesting at The Proving Grounds seemed to show that to be the case.

The two player version (MP), I tried to help the german player some, playtest seem to show the play balance was in favour of the russian player.

I've also updated my DEY-Op Konrad 2 E1 with what I hope is a better briefing, though I see a few spelling errors  , and some minor experience levels.

This scenario was highly regarded by playtesters Larry Thorne and Tooz at The Proving Grounds, I'm stumped as to why so few downloads.

Also I've recently uploaded a new battle DEY Panfilovec this depicts an attack by the germans on russian static defence positions northeast of Moscow in late fall 1941. This is an huge battle on a fairly small map.

Can you break through the russian defence line?. :D

  8. It sure would be sweet to have those AK marders in BB. :( I see they made a lot of improvements in many of the AFV's in cmak. It's almost worth buying it just to get better looking stuff for BB. tongue.gif

Well stuff that will work in BB, least wise, and I can tell that marder won't.

Then again I guess a lot of stuff has already been posted in that context. smile.gif

  9. When you start up a computer (BOOT), there is a two step process to having say windows or linux or even plain old DOS showing up on your monitor.

The first step is done by and solely controlled by the motherboard's Basic Input Output System (BIOS), what happens is there is routine run called a (POST) Power On Self Test, this happens every time you start your computer this is all at the hardware level, there is no software drivers involved.

    PC BIOS

The second step if the motherboard POST was processed without any errors, it will then pass over control to any bootable device connected to the motherboard and start up an operating system.

In Jacks case the motherboard can't even run the POST routine, of which if there is a problem with the motherboard in some form, especially if it can't detect the CPU or the RAM, that is the result you get.

SO in his case something happened to the motherboard or the CPU or the RAM or all three of those things. Also the power supply can be bad and is not giving proper voltages anymore.

I stand corrected, It just seemed that there was something elusive about one of these flame trailers. I'm sorry for the misinformation but it has been a long time since I've had anything to do with cmbo. smile.gif

Mike it appears you've tracked down all the bmps for this AFV, would you mind posting the full set of bmp numbers, I had looked for thoses bmps awhile back but couldn't seem to find those extra parts for the E and G model. I really don't feel like spending hours again trying to track them down.
  11. I've been collecting CMBO winter mods for a long time. However, there are few I have never been able to find. All are Allied and they are:

    90 mm AA gun (US)

40 mm AA gun (US and Brit)

    Sherman Crocodile TRAILER ONLY (US)

The reason those allied AA guns are not whitewashed is simple, they are in a way, way to low a resolution and detail, if you tried to paint them white in their current state, they would look like big piles of chicken sh*t. tongue.gif

And that sherman croc trailer, I believe is hard coded.

However that was not true in the final analysis.

Some guns share bmps in CMAK, but if you ww one it wws the other.

If I grau my CMAK German late war 20mm AA my Brit 20mm Oerlikon AA is also grau

Just keep in mind J2D that in the context of the combat mission games is that if something is shared that means there is only one hard coded entity that is being shared by two or more parties.

So if you have say, a 40mm AA gun being shared by the british and US countries, then what ever bmp skin you use, will show up for that gun for both countries. smile.gif

    Happy New Year. :D

  12. Whoops!! please disregard my above post I had it made up for awhile then had to make a call of the wild. tongue.gif I didn't check for any newer post before I finally sent it along.

It sounds like battlefront did some reworking of the marders for cmak.

You could try cutting and pasting and resizing of the cmbb stuff and try to cram it into cmak.

Maybe someone will attempt to do some whitewashing for cmak, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

  13. As you can see in cmbb (and cmbo for that matter) that in my screen cap above the wespe and marder III is the same except for the AFV's side and the front and the gun of course, so that explains the only two bmps for the marder III , one for the side and one for the front, also the gun barrel for the marder III seems to be #103783

The only other share is with that 4000.bmp.

Have you found the bmp numbers for these afv's in cmak yet. I can't believe BFC didn't keep the number system for either the grey set or yellow set from cmbb.

Once you found the cmak numbers just compare the cmak and cmbb bmps, if they're similar then just renumber the cmbb bmp to the cmak bmp, of course for winter stuff that should be 50000 added to the cmak summer number.

  14. Wait a minute! Those are the very ones that I am trying to transfer from my CMBB files to CMAK! The BMP's are scattered between three different type vehicles. The BMP numbers are different between CMBB and CMAK, very different. And to Top it off they are named different things in the two games,
Okay the bmp numbers are different, now your going to have to track down the bmps from cmak and do a BMP to BMP comparison, if the bmps from those cmbb marders appear the same as the cmak ones then you renumber the cmbb bmps accordingly.

No one said it was going to be easy.

One time you say all ya got are grey marders, now you say you have those yellow marders.

I don't even have cmak though I'm trying to help, but if that's going to be your attitude, then I guess I've gone as far as I can go.

  15. marders4kv.jpg

Thanks to ImageShack for Free Image Hosting

As you can see those marders in Gordens cmmos pack are pretty good, well the marderII isn't anything to get up in the night over, but it would do, for awhile at least.

All you have to do with any of that stuff in any of Gordens cmmos packs is just crop off the _ww off the end of the bmp number and bam ya gots a regular bmp now.

I'm stated this stuff because I'm unsure you figured these things out already.

I've taken a quick look in pack 1 and see that there appears to the Wespe at #153720.bmp and what must the marderIII at #154130.bmp and also the marderII at bmp #154590. There don't seem to be any marders in pack 2.

In BO and BB the only sharing going on is between the Wespe and MarderIII,and that involves a different side and front bmp for the marderIII all the rest is shared between the two. the only other bmp shared is that 4000.bmp(cmbo),(Grau cmbb) and 104000 for gelb cmbb, thats inside all the marders.

I don't have cmak so you'll have to do the tracking down within the game for the parts. You may have to set the bmp folder for thumbnail view and go through every bmp, I've done that many times.
