  1. I don't wish to add fuel to the fire but. . . I looked forward to this game from it's announcement. I pre-ordered the game, but played the demo before downloading it. The demo worked great with the graphics maxed out and shadows on, so I expected the game to work okay. No soap. The game runs fairly well at the beginning of a mission, but begins to lag when new units arrive on the board. I can usually tell when enemy reinforcements arrive because the game takes a big FPS hit. Activity often slows to a crawl and the game becomes unplayable, even after turning the graphics all the way down. Yes, I've installed the patches, followed the troubleshooting guide, etc, etc. OS: Microsoft ME, Service Pack 2 System: Pentium 4 2.6Ghz Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 256MB RAM: 1Ghz This doesn't look like much compared with other systems I see posted here, but I can run other games with on or full on graphics and no problems. These games include Silent Hunter III, Battlefield 1942, Vietnam, and 2, Red Orchestra, and Medieval Total War 2. This is what makes not being able to play TOE properly that much more frustrating. What's even more frustrating is when I buy something like a computer game I expect it to work from the box, and not after tweaking my system to conform its eccentricities. That said, I have not lost faith in Battlefront's ability to produce good games, I'm still playing CMBB and CMAK, and TOW may be a good one. However, I'll be much more cautious when making a purchase from them in the future. A new patch that corrects these problems would do well in restoring my faith.
  2. Nice additions to your France '44 series. Thanks for posting them.
  3. I felt let down when I saw the demo was released before pre-order downloads, but I'd pre-order a game I was excited about again just to save 10 bucks. Thanks for the explanation.
  4. Hey Gurra, I really like your interface mods, and I'm glad you finally did one for CMBB. One little error though. BMP 11240, the national symbols used on the scenario selection screen, is incorrect. Looks like the BMP is from a Westfront interface. Hate to have to point that out, otherwise great mod!
  5. Have you tried hitting the SHIFT-I buttons? You can adjust the smoke quality, and also turn it off. I'm not sure if smoke is moddable, but if it is there's probably a mod for it at CMMODS. You can download that and compair the BMP numbers. Happy hunting.
  6. Nice work DEY. I'm thinking of using your 251 in CMAK. Planning on modding any more in the series? What about the 250's?
  7. I've been haunting CMMods everyday since I heard these were coming out. Just what I hoped for. If you were a girl, I'd kiss ya!
  8. I thought Uncle Tgt's Soviet M5 looked good too, and I'm glad to see someone finally tackling them in CMAK. They really stuck out ugly when seen together with the modded allied stuff. It's guys like you that can make CM look almost pretty. Thanks! On the selfish side, will you be including alternate markings like you usually do? I think they'd look good with the recognition star (the marking of the star with the circle around it if I'm not referring to it correctly) either on the hood or the sides of the hull.
  9. Will there be leaders who, either at the beginning or through the course of a campaign, have an adverse effect on morale? Maybe a green Lieutenant, or a squad leader who gets too many of his guys killed. You'd be better off not using them for the morale or command hit, but you have to in order to keep your unit together. I apoligize if this has been addressed before, but I haven't come across this question in the other topics I've read.
  10. Yeah Jack, I understand that this is an Eastern Front forum, but it was the closest I could get to The Far East. Auto, the same way they hide the naughty parts in Japanese porno flicks. Mosaic.
  11. The Thin Red Line baby! Do you have any CMC droppings for us WWII oriented guys? Please don't neglect us!
  12. The traditional kind. One guy and two Type 89A Chi-Ro's in schoolgirl outfits. But seriously. . . PBEM.
