  1. CMBB is 4 regions,

    Finland

    North

    Center

    South,

Finland is mostly forest and swamps,

North is lenningrad and the baltic forests

Center is steepes, moscow, and kursk

South is more steepes, Crimea, the Caucasus, and Stalingrad. The Italian alpini earned the respect of the soviets in the bloody retreat from the caucasus in late 42 to early 43, Try playing the 'Alpine Breakout' Scenario

At no point did the war enter the lands known as Iran.(although the soviets did occupy the region)

The more geographicly inclined grogs will correct me at great length I'm sure,

  2. The only way the germans could have averted the disaster knowen as Stalingrad, Is to have never entered the city in the first place,..

The rest is idle speculation, and hypothetical "whatif" material,

The germans were beat the moment they invaded poland in 39, it was just a matter of time.,

The only hope the germans had was in july of 44,

When an attempt was made to kill the chancelor,

Had Staufenberg gone back in and checked and finished off Hitler, But he didnt,

Of course we can play "whatif" with this as well,

(actualy I kinda feel like playing )

  3. A silent force can usualy hear a noisy force from a fair distance, try it some time,, find a construction site,, with lots of heavy vehicles,, walk about 500 meters from it,, and listen, you should still be able to distinguish buldozers from dumptrucks by sound alone,

Forest does baffle the sound a bit, and bounces it around to make it harder to pinpoint the source, but you should still be able to identify engine noises,

  4. Tanks dont do well in trees,

In tall pines and in woods(forest) they are imobile, and in scatered trees, they are slow and easly bogged,

But there are a few safe passages through that i saw, try using the SHIFT key, and the T, to hide the trees so you can see the ground, and use the LOS tool to plot a course in advance,

Also zoom in close to the ground for a better idea of exactly what you are facing.

Out of curiosity,,,, did you study the manual?

If not you probably should, it says a lot about tanks and where they should and should NOT be opperated.

  5. And unfortunately my men are french, and too stupid to recognize a disaster when they waltz into it,

In all reality, I screwed up this battle, I moved too fast with a force best used at closer ranges,

I'm now attempting to recover my balance as it were, Trying to consolidate a line with spent troops, Its going to get messy,

Eventualy he has to close to bayonette range,

  6. You did it right,

and I expect you will do just fine,

I sent you the next turn, ,,,

Theres a lot of trees on that map,

I hate fighting in dense forest, oh well,

You may notice that I like to engage the enemy as far away as possible, I cant do that on this map, so I am going to improvize,

    This should be fun..............

  7. teeps,

random maps, with random units selected by the AI,

set quality to medium, set rarity to variable,

and see what the computer generates for you,

Accept what circumstance throws at you, and make it work,

600 to 800 points is big enough to be good, but small enough to be managable
