  1. spayor, however much i may want to try eichenbaum's mission champaign series, the fact is that i KNOW i'm computer illiterate, the warnings are posted on the site, i pay close attention to those things,

dont blame the eichenbaum crew for your own incompetence,

i'm waiting for the fully debuged version,

someting even a person like me can use,

maybe you should do the same,, hugs kisses and a boot to the head,,,

  2. ummmm, Tha mark 4 panzer was a great tank,

a bit thin skined yes, but armed with the 75 mm gun, the L24 was a bit feeble against soviet armour, but the upgrade to the L43 fixed that little problem easily, I still feel they should have gone to an L50 or so, but.....

the fact is that the mark 4 was meant as a support tank, and this thinking dominated the design for most of the war, the mark 4 J however was an exelent up close and personal tank, ie; main battle tank,,,

the mark 4 was a sucess throughout the war,

not only was it well armed, but it was ergonomicaly designed, easy to repair and maintain, and came with monogramed leather seat covers and those little doily things on the shell bins, it even had a good stereo system, although the onboard beer cooler was a tad small, but thats just my oppinion,

  3. actualy, during ww2, the french fought very well, as individuals and as lower formations*, they did so on both sides, and fought with distinction, It was the government of the third republic that surrendered, and only after Paris was taken,

The army, and the public, wanted to continue the fight,

*higher formations of the french army were infected with incompetence and petty inter-unit rivalry, thus hampering the effectivness of french strategic doctrine

  4. "Okay so I understand the abandoning thing but why in the heck would the driver be shaken when he has to abandon his kubelwagon?

Is he afraid the CO is gonna shoot him for getting stuck?"

It's a possibility, or he could be afraid that the motor pool will take the replacement cost out of his pay, or maybe he's freaked about having to abandon the car stereo to the enemy,,,

  5. i realy just feel like babbling here, so this is realy not relevent, As far as i know, tapered bore guns were an axis weapon, they were good because they alowed a smaller caliber gun to have greater hitting power, they tended to wear out quickly though, They were a good Compromise,,

just consider the thought of a 37 mm AT , with the hitting power of a 50 mm AT, ,, the bigger the gun the greater the weight, and the easyer it was for the enemy to spot, so a smaller gun made sense, but smaller guns have less power, the tapered bore alowed small, light, easily hidden, guns, to be more efective, but they tended to wear out quickly, and they required special ammo, ,,, ok i'm done babbling,,,,

  6. The german 88 is a cumbersome and heavy gun, instead of a permanent gun carriage it has 2 sepperate carriages that must be removed durring setup, once its placed, it cant be moved without a long and complicated dissasembly and reasembly,

Unlike other guns in the game, the 88 is not a rapid deployment weapon, it is an emplacement weapon, think of it as a railway gun with road capability, when deployed it rests on a pedistal with 4 arms for stability, these arms are staked to the ground with long metal stakes, asking an 88 crew to move their gun several times in one day is a very good way to provoke a mutiny,

  7. Hullo, accurate briefings????

    what planet are you on??

Inteligence services have always been prone to

innept and incompetent behavior, that partisan activity mentioned in the briefing translates as 2 platoons of your company being mauled before arriving on the battlefeild, the light cavalry resistance is old news, they were rotated out 5 months ago and replaced with elite motorized guards, the reinforcements you are to wait for, they got slaughtered by air attack while en rout, the good cover is a shack in open ground, and you must take the stupid hill because right now YOU are the only thing standing between half the damned red army and Berlin and that hill is the only defencible ground in the area, your ammo resupply is being stolen as we speak by a corrupt quartermaster, and you were stupid enough to enlist, you should have run to switzerland with that cute, blonde frauline you met in '39, NOW STOP WHINING ABOUT BRIEFINGS!!, TAKE THE DAMNED HILL or die trying,,,,,,,

  8. ok a sharpshooter has 15 shots at most,

his range is 400 or so meters, and he is kinda expencive,,

but the german AT rifle has 60 shots, and a range of 800 meters

Italian Marzochi AT rifle has 100 shots, and range of 800 meters,

both are fast enough to keep up with infantry,

    both have high concealment rating,

and are cheaper than a sharpshooter,,,

So ummmmm.... who do you want as your sniper?

  9. I set tank hunters to ambush , covered arc set at 25/30 meters, keep them in cover till enemy tank is actualy passing them, try not to attack a tank from in front, deploy covering infantry a ways behind them to keep enemy infantry away,

bring brattwursts, marshmallows, and beer, those red panzers make wonderfull bonfires
