Next game will be Eastern Front 1942/43, I think. Stalingrad to Kursk. That would be the smarter choice.

I can live with that as well.  Just move backwards with the timeline please.  I want to start giving BF my money again, it's been awhile.

p.s. I am in for CMSF2, but I am not pitching for the modern stuff with my previous posts.

Hey gent,  I have been playing these games for about six yeas now and have never really had a issue running the game.  I recently purchased a new graphics card a Radeon RX 550 and it does not like CM at all.  It will not play any of the games Normandy, Red Thunder or FB.  So the game loads very slow and in game I move the camera and nothing happens for up to 20 seconds than jerk an the camera moves super fast.  It is unplayable for me.  Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Sounds to me like you have an integrated Intel video card on the motherboard that might be interrupting the Radeon??  If so, either disable the integrated Intel video card or direct the Radeon to start when CM starts via the Radeon software...  My  i7 gaming laptop had this issue with my Nvidia card,  The Intel integrated video card made CM and other games unplayable, like how you described it.

I only use Nvidia cards by the way, not a fan of Radeon's.

  3. Heinz von Westernhagen, on his way to see Peiper at his command post, lost his life to one of these birds.  Just as he was walking up to the door of the command post,  a 'swallow' cut its engine and glided in for the bomb drop.  Shrapnel entered von Westernhagen's skull (again), but this time got the better of him.  He never saw or heard the plane coming in by accounts.

Paraphrasing from an account in 'Michael Wittmann, vol. 2'...

Truth be told, I am expecting Combat Mission: Napoleon. I am sure, everyone wants to go back to the good old days: when gentlemen were gentlemen, uniforms were classy and the rate of fire of weapons was as appalling as their accuracy. Besides, there's nothing more tiresome then having to scatter a company of troops across a kilometer of uneven terrain -- it's much more neat to have an entire battalion walk a-breast in a field. The enemy was truly sportsman-like back then, and would allow your troops to come close before opening fire. Drums, deadly diseases and cavalry charges -- oh, yes, that's the CM for me.

I can tell by your avatar that you would be prime for some CM: BATTLETECH !!   Oh yeah......

I always mention that in threads like this.  :D

I would absolutely love some early war content, but why dislike the late war? Too many super heavy tanks?

Yeah, just me I suppose.  I play German units only (most of the time), don't feel like commanding Volkssturm and hoards of panzerfaust armed Hitler youth, with dribs and drabs of armour here and there... :D

  6. Good as place as any to pump the early wartime period I guess... ;)

...1939 - mid 1944 are the only time periods I like when wargaming WWII, this is why I have not purchased CMFB.  41-43 whether it be in France, the desert or on the Eastern front are most immersable time periods for me.  Hint, hint, hint BF...

How about Vehicle packs for those time periods and let the community come up with the rest of the content??   I would easily pay the price of a CM game for early war vehicle packs.   I could help with modeling the vehicles /equipment (freelancer with 3DS Max or Maya, Zbrush).  ;):)

Well since I'm not really playing any BFC products for the time being where did you guys get a working copy from FC II? Would love to try that baby again. At least I had to only install once with 2 patches :)

    Easy as pie that one.

Tactical Wargamer, check your PM's I sent you something you will want to have a look at in regards to Dos Box FCII.

Flight Commander II fans should check out this site for scenarios for FCII: http://hagler11.com/fc2/index.html

This guy used the FC Mission builder to create lots of battles.  Air battles from History channel 'Dog Fights' to scenarios converted from air combat board games like Air Superiority / Air Strike, etc, for use in FCII.  As well there are links for Over the Reich and Achtung Spitfire.  Impressive and very cool actually.
