Are you playing real time or turn based? Don't forget you can pause real time Single Player battles to make choices.

Sorry, but why should this have anything to do with his question?  IMO, WEGO is superior to real time and the only way to use this wargame.

Reduce the size of your maps and forces while you increase your time to complete them. I truly believe smaller battle areas are more fun.

I do not agree.  I like all battles, but large maps, lots of units and lots of turns are what I like the most.  Large Campaigns are my favorite.

@Blazing 88's  It says you've been here a long time on BFC forums. 12 or 13 years. Wow. Have you ever released any CMX1 or CMX2 scenarios?

I have no idea the answer. Maybe you've done a lot but long ago? Come on and get back into it and stop that trend you fear!

No, I do not have the dedication for it.  If I am going to create something it won't be in CM it will be in the 3d modelling /3d animation realm using Maya, 3DS Max or ZBrush.  My CM time is recreation for me and I do not find working in the editor map making recreation, for me it is a chore.  That is why I appreciate the work others have done, as I know it takes dedication to pull it off.

One thing I may try out would be using a master map, cut it up as needed and create a scenario that way, as I would avoid having to make the map.  Someday I may look into that.

Now a master map of certain areas of North Africa would be very cool...

Agreed.  I hope there is a market for BF to produce good campaigns that feature huge scenarios that we can buy as modules.  (And one can always extract the missions and pay individual scenarios if one prefers standalone missions.)

    +1

  4. I fear the day is coming that the big community made scenarios or campaigns are going to be no more.  Eventually just little squad battles and small maps will be all that populate the most recent uploads...  I sure hope not.  Hopefully I am going to be totally wrong about that.

The bigger the battle the better for my tastes as I usually don't sit down to finish a battle in one sitting, can take me days, weeks or months to finish one and I love it that way.  It does not help that I flip flop my interests in different theatres and don't concentrate on one CM game most of the time.  As well as other games of interest (CMANO, WITE, MegaMek /MekHQ, WOFF, FC2).

Just putting my support out there for the large battles as it seems more and more people are commenting for more smaller scale stuff...  nothing wrong with that, just a voice for the large scale crowd.

  5. Thanks for all the effort put into it.  Sounds great for peeps who like using the allies.  After it is tested, I will download it for my archives.  Not sure I will ever play it though as I only like using German units, maybe one day.

I suppose that I could use that program that separates the scenario's from a campaign and use the German units that way.  However, I would assume that there would not be any Allied AI plans made.

    Thanks anyways.

Thanks for trying it. I used those touch objectives as an experiment with scoring for a recon mission. I have a rework of the Kasserine Station map in progress to include the Kasserine train station with lovely white walls and blue shuttered windows. They show up too dark so far...but anyway, the map is much much enlarged and more accurate topographically. The town itself will be more accurate per a period French map. I will redo the allied AI plan or maybe switch it around and have the axis be the AI and the player commands the troops hoping to delay the Germans. But meanwhile I am focusing on Sidi Bou Zid. It should be a blast for desert battle fans.

Redo the allied AI plan please, hopefully I am not late in responding...  ;):)

I had the feeling I was running a marathon with my pixeltruppen the whole time.  I did not reach the final location required, 2 out of 3 located.

Love the desert battles.  Thanks and look forward to whatever else comes along.

I was suspecting that could be the reason. However Forczyk mentioned few tome on the Osprey forum, that he doesn't find the late war as interesting as the 1941-43 period. It's a real shame because I was especially counting on the 1944-45 period, since there's definitely less literature dedicated to it, than to the early war.

    I totally agree.

Doh,  yes,  I forgot the 32bit curse re ram. Dagnabbit.

And the inevitable question -  is there a 64bit PC  in the works?

Well there is this and no need to buy a Mac, here you go... :P   As long as you have a 64bit Win rig obviously.

I have not had a need for it in CM as of yet, but I have used it for WOFF and MVP2015 and it works great for them.  Give it a go and report if you want.  Steps to follow at this link:  http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3421233/Memory_Boost_for_Your_32-bit_G#Post3421233
*BACKUP* the main .exe file prior to patching.

From within the above link you will find this the 4Gb patch:

And, by the way, re-manning the own tank is (at least in RT) possible. My guys did that once.

Yes it is possible (see my above post) with all CM.  During the war German units always did this when they were near, but not knowing where, the enemy was located (Panzer Aces I, II, III has lots of examples).  I would assume the allies did this as well??

That's kind of what I suspected...  sort of a bummer since it eliminates having any fog of war in a one player mode.   Well I guess I will patiently wait for this project to come to fruition:
