  1. At least some american/english rockgroup seams to belive that (Motörhead, Mötley Crew) regards/
  2. Thanks! So I guess it would be correct to use "tall pines" in mountainous terrain in Ukraine, in the north as well as in the south. Regards/
  3. In OP you have a rolling window, if the windows could just roll sideways as well, could that give the game some of the options you're asking for? Regards/
  4. Thanks! Perhaps it was this site, http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/EART/x-ussr/ukraine.html Fantastic site Cover whole Ukraine 1:100 000, but I having trouble with interpreting the symbols and coulors (no legend). A general remark is that fighting in (Southern)Russia probably was conducted in large open areas with very little cover at all. I've seen pictures were soldier used dead bodies for cover/protection in lack of anything else. A real challenge for any scenario designer, to make an interesting scenario with just open spaces! Regards/
  5. I'm working on a scenario in southern Ukraina (Nikopol, dec 1943), and I wounder what kind of tree coverage you can expect there? I've seen scenarios about Crimea where designers use "tall pines" but is that really accurate? Regards/
  6. Perhaps it would have been more eficcient if it was just Koskenkorva. I read somewhere that during the "race for Dnjepr" that the russian advance stopped for 3 days because the germans missed to destroy their liquer amongst other things when they left a city. That gave them a chance to withdraw and regroup. A very eficcient defence tactic in my opinion [ April 12, 2004, 12:19 PM: Message edited by: Sgt AA ]
  7. Joachim! Perhaps too small maps plus/or too big battle windows? Regards/
  8. YD Thanks for the tip! After having ordered a pioneer sq to clear an APM with DC at night and those idiots starts shooting behind them instead, killed two platons of my infantry plus shocked a SPW. I guess I will make use of your tip from now on. Regards/ [ April 10, 2004, 06:25 PM: Message edited by: Sgt AA ]
  9. Joachim! You make me a little confused!? In my experience, the reinforcement arrive as soon as the marker is in the battle window. So you usually have to make some progress before that happens. I recently played "Models Last Hope" and by stopping the German advance early, they never get their "linked to map" reinforcement (and neither did I). Regards/
  10. "Ron53" Yes, you can. You will get a marker for them too on the map in the editor mode.
  11. Exactly the same foto is in the book: "Finlands krig" by Kai Brunila (1980), where it states that it also contains potassium chlorate and that sulphuric acid was used for the ignition. (And the writer also claim that it was an efficient weapon against russian tanks ) Ps krig = war [ April 07, 2004, 08:39 PM: Message edited by: Sgt AA ]
  12. c3k That's just my point! I tested how long time it took to make a 90' turn for a boat in water and it was just as slow as the boat on land. But of course the boat in water moves with dubble speed straight forwards. In my experience from the navy it was much easier to turn a boat in the water than it was on land  With that turning rate it just takes a whole senario to ship a company equipped with 10-15 boats over a small (20m) river  It'a also a strange thing that the boat can't move in water without embarked troops. It does have a crew (1 man, and an engine), right?
  13. Hi! I have asked the same question in an earlier thread and the answer is: Begin with a big flat rubble, look at the map, leave the map wiew and put a bridge over the rubble. Look at the map again and now you have a broken bridge.
  14. Assaults boats is something that really disturbs me. I get mad about their low turning rate. How comes that a 90 degrees turn on land take as long time as when it is in the water?
  15. Strange topic, but the reason I ask is that I´m planning a trip to Thailand and since things are cheaper in Asia than in Sweden (lower taxes, etc.) I thought that it might be a good idea to buy the Bundle Pack there. I don´t have CMAK. Even if I'm a penny-pincer I´m not that greedy that I will risk to buy a bootlegged game. I've heard that it is almost impossible to tell if things are a copy or not. A Chinise guy said that everything is a copy in Asia, big industri. Is there an easy way to find out if it is an original game ore not? Regards/
  16. Thanks Rokossovski I got your email, and it was Mapping Mission 1.08. Follow Sergei's link and you will get ver. 1.09, it has some improvements (supports CMBO for instance) and seems to work faster. The problem you mentioned has occured once for me and I found no solution, so I just deleted the map and started all over again. The program seems to work fine, but don't have to many programs running in the background, especially not painting/picture programs. Wonder if Lealand ever solved the probleme I mentioned in an other thread, exporting operation maps 6km from N-S, or if it was just me who had that problem? 17. Hi! Could you please post a link to the "Mapmaker Program"? Sounds interesting! Regards/
  18. /svendufva/ ??? Has it something to do with the last man holding the bridge? "The brave man with a weak head but a strong heart" as Runeberg wrote about!? (Fänrik Ståls sägner, right?) Just curious Regards/
  19. junk2drive! It's included in the zip-file, but I just mailed it to you anyway. The author recently visited the "Senario Talk" forum". Take a look in the thread "Operation Map". Regards/ [ March 17, 2004, 03:44 PM: Message edited by: Sgt AA ]
  20. L.Tankersley, you´re my hero! Regards!
  21. Welcome WarHawk! Mapping Mission is to be found att CMMC2. Ver. 1.09 is the last one. Wonderful tool and works now as well for CMBO. "The Iron Road Block" is a piece of cake, for the Germans as well. Keep the tank button up and stressed with your 37mm ATG. It gives you a good chance to get your 88's in position, the rest is easy Regards
  22. Thanks Sergei! And you don't bye any chance have any idea were to find a decent map for the Salla region? I liked your thoughts about create a series of maps who covered a campaign and I think this could be a proper area, because the number of troops and the total advancing distance isn't so overwhelming. Regards/ [ March 14, 2004, 11:15 AM: Message edited by: Sgt AA ]
  23. That's one of the reason why I always use "Mapping Mission" for creating my maps BTW, I have a question about "MM" that I hope somebody can answer: In the CMBB Editor you can create an op. map with H:6 km and W:4 km, letting the attacker come from N or S. But it's only possible to import a map with max size H:4 / W:6 to CMBB, not H:6 / W:4  Something I have missed or is there a solution ? Regards
  24. I'm currently working on a map (in Mapping Mission) over Cholm (Kholm). It´s based on information from this site: http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/campaign_awards/shields/cholm_files/cholmbattle.htm Could be plenty of opportunitis for defence battles there Would appreciate tips on more detailed maps.
