  1. Hi Berto!

So old saves crash the program? On your system the behavior is the same?

Your title reads "import" so I thought the new feature.

Well I tried to load old savegame of campaign in the normal way (saved game) and the results are variable: crash, out of memory and success. The only way is to try.

For import feature I read in Version 1.20 feature list:

"Using v1.20 or later, save your current campaign between battles..... so the whole process of importing works best when updates to the campaign are relatively small ones."

So I think a way forward could be:

    a) Finding a functional savegame and load normally.

    B) Play until the end of the scenario. (the game automatically saves, between battles)

    c) Import the new savegame (with the procedure "import")

  2. After installing British module I can't load my old Semper Fi saves anymore. The program abruptly closes at about 25% of the loading process, one time it opened an error window with an "out of memory" error.

I tried with in game saves and with "between missions" saves, it's the same.

    I have Vista 64 SP4

    Suggestions?

I think  this feature is activated by 1.2 savegames and later, not with the 1.1 savegames.

  3. Dunno about 'thin black line': Blue has overwhelming fire advantage. I was happy to be playing blue and felt sorry for my poor red opponent in that scenario, who gave it up early when he saw that further resistance was futile.

Yeah, I played 'TBL' as pbem and as a red and got my :)ss kicked. Blue arty & air specially are really dominating (too much IMO).

I'm playing just as red and I'm doing a good figure against a opponent of value. What can I say: "I have to be a great player and my setup was a masterpiece ".

  4. Hello , my problem is that i place the received file in the "incoming mail" repertory ( called pbem 001 for example ), so i play the turn , but when i want to save the file ( pbem 002 for example ) , i can't find the saved file in the "outoing mail" repertory .

Have you an idea how to solve this problem ?

    Thanx a lot .

When you have play the turn, press the red button (no manul save) and CMSF automatically open a save window dialog (the number is automatic +1) and the file is saved in "outoing mail" (also check the language that uses).

  5. Because "in some cases" some of us have Spanish version of CMSF (issued by Friendware in Spain) and we cannot add any patch at all to the original game because Friendware and Battlefront didn´t reach an agreement (as you can see, a very efficient customer policy... :(

And anyway, "in some cases" there are a lot of us who don´t like wargames based on these modern battles between USA vs Siria or Irak or Iran or whatever country...

I have tried CMSF (version 1.07), and "the feeling" is not the same as playing CMBB or CMAK. It´s worse! :((

Try the version 1.11 (there is also the demo), and "the feeling" is the same as playing CMBB or CMAK. Certainly it is modern warfare, not WWII.

If you buy a module and apply it, I think the Spanish version will become Battlefront version and the problems are over.

  6. I have tried RT vs Human, but even with a tiny scenario it was extremely difficult to keep track of forces and get them to do what I wanted them to do. Some of the time they were lying idle when I wanted them to be doing something.

    In part you are right.

But often players believe too much in micromanagement; plays like a "fps" instead should think of a more "strategic".

In my experience (I played a lot online) I have obtained better results when I was entrusted to TacAI (very good in CMSF) and I used with care orders.
