  1. I agree that the armies should have at least twice the strength of corp. I would also like to see mechanized infantry.
  2. Nice post Cary, I certainly don't by any means believe we have avoided sin. I found the second quote (above) you posted quite interesting. However any of us may feel about the "necessity of violence", right and/or wrong, when and/or where perhaps most can agree that:
  3. Hey guys, this has been fun and informative to follow. No matter who is winning or losing I certainly appreciate the thread comments you are making.
  4. I know everything is debatable and some argument and/or excuses can be made for any position. In fact there are those who would dispute that the above quote is even near to true. However - The Terrorist & Radical Isalm could certainly be at least nominated as an example of True Evil. (Politically correct or not) I won't attempt to convince anyone that the U.S. should be considered an example of Good. But do remember that while the U.S. may be in the forefront of the battle in some locations, the "evil ones" have shown that the entire "western world" and even beyond is their enemy. While the western world may not be able to argue that they represent only good, I at least know which side is closer to a definition of true evil. Added Edit, Sorry, I know this is off thread toppic, but I found Liam's post very interesting and some good food for thought and discussion. [ July 24, 2006, 12:31 PM: Message edited by: Yogi ]
  5. I'm sorry Kuniworth, I didn't realize that were meant to be positive and helpful. Whether I play games on-line/email with anyone and/or everyone who makes a hollow, macho bravado, insulting, rude, ranting, cowardly, sincere, genuine or any other type of challenge is my choice. It has nothing to do with the validity, quality or wisdom of any posting that shows up on the forum. The same applies to anyone who makes such a challenge. I am not at "war" with Rambo, Kuniworth or anyone else on the forum. I respond or not to postings as I feel is appropriate. Not all are well written and some may be ill-advised. I do try to keep things on a reasonable level as best I can. That of course is not always easy. Not responding in kind to rants, raves, juvenile behavior, insults and the like can certainly be a challenge.
  6. Shades of Politics? But I must say Rambo, you are correct. This has become a big problem in not just America, but the whole world. Just to clarify, I'm talking the big picture here, not about the "cheater" in SC2. </font>
  7. Perhaps a lesson to be learned? Others may join in the "defense" even if it makes no sense to do so. I would have expected the "Stop attacking those who attack you crowd, they might get mad and attack you!" from the political discussions to have joined in the defense, but perhaps when it is a game of SC2 they don't see the humor. </font>

  10. Hi Kuniworth, sorry I was on vacation for the last week in beautiful Eagle River, so I wasn't available to respond to your confusing post. Perhaps you are indeed a stud as you claim, but other than that I am the one who has no idea once again where your claims come from. I do have to say this is not the first time. Perhaps you get me confused with someone else's posts? Not sure who though? I have no idea why else you would post the references to Cheese Panzer, Fartknocker or Lucky Zebra. I have no ties to them. As for DD, just a few posts in the past back and forth, but no real connection there either other then forum interests. I remember a few months ago (or so) you made another similar post about my alledged connections/defense of others. I really think Kuni that you are somehow thinking that I have made posts that were actually posted by someone else, or think I have multiple identities (like someone said about you) not true in my case anyway. Or I suppose you could have just lost it and reality is just a thing you once heard of. If the latter is the case, I guess you will continue to rant and rave about me, but maybe. just maybe, you have made an honest mistake about me. Whatever the case, keep on posting, it is always interesting.
  11. Oh mine gott I have a personal stalker!!!!! Damn Rambo will be impressed. Hey Yogi, you were once an Old Guard but you snapped and became a coward. Now do your stalker-duty and go back and read all of my 3000+ posts. You're dismissed. </font>
  12. @Kuniworth, I'm curious. I have a question or two about your forum behavior. 1) I have seen you edit other peoples quotes when you reply putting your own words into their post. Sometimes it seems it is done for humor,(in fact your version of one of mine was quite funny) but perhaps you have other reasons as well? 2) I note that you at times go back and edit out some of your own offensive remarks and insults. Is this to fool the moderators? Or perhaps because you know you were out of line? Seriously, I'm curious. You have many good posts, but have a tendancy to go off the deep end at times. If you are going to go on tirades with your comments, either keep them there so all can see what you do, or apologize when you remove them.
  13. @kuniworth 1) This forum is not the place for the discussion. 2) Any argument would be lost on you anyway. 3) Once again your remarks show a lack of maturity. 4) You also show that you don't care what you say about others true or not. 5) Insults from you fall into the category of a badge of honor. If the great Kuni is throwing one of his famous tantrum tirades, the recipient must have done something right. So keep responding if you like - wise folks just ignore your opinion anyway, as I probably should have a few posts ago.
  14. Well can't you americans once and for all tell Israel to accept the borders drawn up by the UN and stop this crap they throw. Only reason Israel time and time again is allow to break UN obligations are because USA is supporting them. Please stop that. - Let palestinians have their own state as you agreed on in 1948. - Press Israel to follow the public international law. If you do that the Middle east question will be very much solved. Sorry to say but it all boils down to the USA that this madness is allowed to continue. </font>

  16. Actually Rambo, you are showing the whole world what you are. A person so unsure of himself that he has to pretend he is tough. Your claims show ignorance and fear, not strength and skill. Still, be as "fearsome" as you like. Most people know, your rants are entertainment, not to be taken seriously.
  17. I'm sorry Rambo, I didn't mean to make you cry. We better not play, I'd be afraid of your reaction should you unexpectedly lose. All kidding aside, I actually do respect your SC & SC2 play ability and skill. One more point however. You can challenge anyone and may be able to beat just about everyone in a game. Doesn't prove anything about being right. Playing the game well and being right about opinions are two different things. Keep posting though, many of us enjoy reading your comments for the entertainment value if nothing else. Right about what? Truth itself if known, might not be debatable, but many try. Opinion can certainly be debated, except you can only debate if the opinion is right. You can't debate that it is the person's opinion. Confusing hey? Let me translate. The truth is I have my opinion as do others. That means you're wrong and have already lost. Now go forth and win some more SC2, it will make you feel better. And thanks for the exchange Rambo. I enjoy having you on the forum and respect your opinion. That's just my opinion of course. Perhaps you would like to debate it.
  18. Hmm, must have hit a sore spot. Perhaps you are more sensitive then you like to portray? Actually Rambo, between my schedule and my ultra crappy dial-up service, it is difficult for me to commit to on-line gaming. (One reason AI is so important). And besides, I have been following the SC and SC2 exploits of the Legend for quite some time. I have great respect for your playing ability, and knolwedge of the game. I recognize you as a true legend of SC2. By the way, did you know that if you belittle your opponent and win, it makes your victory hollow and prooves nothing about your own actual ability. On the other hand, if you build up your opponent as being skillful and worthy and then win, you can boast about your great accomplishment and prove your own great skills. Think about it. How many victories do you have against worthy opponents? Oh thanks for the concern, but I do know my role. Unfortunately if I shut my hole, eventually it causes a large and painful build up. Besides, My Dad always told me to not talk out of it, which by the way is very sound advice.
  19. Hey SeaMonkey, that is a very good point. The same weather as actually happened can be put in the game, but the player would have the advantage of knowing what the weather would be. The historical participants did not.
  20. For some one who likes to be right, you really should consider not saying it anymore. Example of positions which should be recognized as personal preference or opinion only. Not what everyone one else should or must believe. 1) The AI is not important. 2) The AI is the most important part of the game. 3) The editor is a waste of time. 4) Quit complaining you can fix it with the editor. 5) It's just a game, history and/or realism doesn't matter. 6) The game fails if it does not have the historical outcome. 7) The game should not be expected to be a good historical simulation. 8) The game should not be expected to consider what if's. 9) Only games with hexes are worthwhile. 10) Only games with tiles are worthwhile. 11) The game is great, because the legend always wins. 12) The game is great because the legend has lost a few. I would guess some of you may have other examples. The point is we all have our wish list and preferences. It doesn't make us wrong or not worth considering. The more people you can please, the more games you can sell. The more games you sell, the better the chance of staying in the business.
  21. Just what we need. A discussion of global warming as it alters history in simulation wargaming. The SC2 thread proudly evolves into the present day theories. A conspiracy perhaps?
  22. I think the editor is great for those who like to use them. I wouldn't say I hate to hear about the editor. I would say I don't like to always get the answer you can fix it with the editor. I want a great game (and simulation) out of the box and/or via the issued patches and updates. I don't want to have to go to the editor to fix it. I think it is great DD that those of you who enjoy editors can do what you want. I also admire the skills of people and what they can do with an editor. But I don't think it is for everyone. Maybe we don't have the time and/or don't get the enjoyment out of eiditing that some do. Call it lazy or editor challenged if you like. I just call it a preference. My comment about wargame simulation vs just a fun game applies here also. I see no reason we can't have both a great editor and a great game "out of the box".
  23. I understand Dicedtomato, but this just continues the ongoing debate. If you do the above, many of us will want nothing to do with the game. We do want a good simulation. On the other hand, it is possible to do both! That may be the best choice. That way, those of us who want a real wargame and simulation can have it, and those of you who just want a "fun game" fantasy or not can have it too. 24. I had simlar results in my last game. Large number of units sent to Italy and then later to France as well after D-Day. The Western Allies ended up facing the bulk of the German forces while the Russian Front was all but abandoned by the Axis. It actually made for a very interesting game - but it certainly was not realistic. The Russians had been almost beaten, but the Axis mass move to the west, allowed them to first breath a little easy, then reinforce & create new units, and then methodically take back everything on the way the Berlin. A Better AI would have continued an offensive in Russia and just sent enough units west to resaonably defend and delay.
