  1. Sounds like a good plan. Adding it to the list ...
  2. Wow! Yeah baby! Great looking buildings. Huuuggge improvement over v1. I can almost hear the noise that the JT would have made trundling around the streets. Can you imagine the mess it would have made just turning a corner on paved roads! Seeing your 251 reminds me that there's a lighting bug on the wheels of those I wanted to look at, just never got round to it. Won't affect your work though which looks awesome!
  3. You're welcome. I have several Google accounts and would be happy to host it for you as an interim solution if you need to set up a Google account in the meantime.
  4. Thanks for the update and clarity Elvis. I hope that we will all see the pack soon.
  5. Google sheets are Google's free to use spreadsheet app, part of its Workplace suite, its answer to MS Office. See here. The sheet is stored in the cloud on a user's Google Drive and can be shared to others collaboratively. It's compatible with excel just doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a desktop app. There are free versions for most platforms. If you have a gmail account then you already have access to this otherwise it's a free signup. (Excepting of course that you are selling your soul to the new overlords of the world, but then again they probably already have you by the short and curlies).
  6. Especially those who preordered in good faith ... Of course the easy solution would be to release this as a simple pack that could be downloaded and dumped manually into our game folders (at least for those of us who have a modicum of tech ability). Why we need a giant patch when nothing is being patched ... unless there is something else in the battle pack? I'm lucky enough to have both PC and Mac so I'll be copying the battle pack from my PC to my Mac if I have to wait more than a few days. Or is there a sudden divergence between the PC and Mac versions (other than the tournament system which I have zero interest in anyway. Also would be interested to know why it still says on the purchase page that no download is necessary for this pack - where's it coming from then? Is it already embedded in the game, how's that work, GeorgeMC discovered time travel, went back to last April and injected his work into the Fire & Bubble release ... not. This all smacks of utter tosh.
  7. So you have tall bocage in a CMFI map?! This is very odd but suggests that the tall bocage is activated in Italy just not in the editor. Even stranger that the hedge was the thing preventing the hex editing from working. Wonder what would happen taking a CMBN map into FI.
  8. I've updated the files so that the folder containing the mod doesn't have the umlaut in its name anymore. If a player does as I suggest and copies that folder into their mod folder it shouldn't now cause this issue. Not bad odds all things considered. Probably better than a fully mobile IVG non-hull-down in the same showdown.
  9. Ah, okay it's actual shadows drawn on the uniform texture.
  10. The single face billboards, like the doodads, work because they rotate to face the viewer, they don't have any volume as such, better would be a full 8m square made up of a series of rows each comprising a sandwich of three billboards which would give more of a sense of volume and can be oriented to align with your paddy.
  11. You could make this into a Google sheet so that others can collaborate in it. Would make it easy for anyone to access then. Just a thought.
  12. Hehe, lots of fleeting ideas, not enough time or incentive to make them. Yes, yes the important stuff. I really want to do something about the haystacks. I've had photos of haystacks in Normandy sitting on my desktop for two years ... maybe one day. Even more important. washing machines was my first thought until I looked more closely
  13. Yes there's scope to improve these for sure. Wonder if there's a way to add more model versions for these to get some variety.
  14. Will have to take a peek at them. Definitely need something a bit more scattered and less neat than the stock ones. Since bricks are a pretty simple shape - each brick can be made of 12 triangle texels on six faces - they won't add much to the graphics load. I'm thinking of a roughly tile sized scattering as a flavor object, few dozen bricks and perhaps a few odd shaped bits of other masonry. Couple of different textures for variety could give a nice scattered debris effect around the larger piled up rubble, kinda soften the edges as it were. Probably use a particle system to speed up the making in Blender.
  15. Nice! Just a quickie. I notice the guy in the foreground has outlines of pockets on his tunic, this looks like it may be caused by a normal map - if the original uniform normal maps are in use then it might be best, for now, to use a blank file for normal maps until you get new normal maps done.
  16. Nice work. These really do look derelict. Are there any scattered brick flavor objects. I know we have the piles of brick and rubble but I can't recall a more scattered object, a few dozen bricks scattered across a tile?
  17. This is a very sensible suggestion, though not sure how it could be administered. You're right though JM we will probably suffer chaotic scenes. Definitely useful having a list of what people have done.
  18. Those Tommies look like they're hurting the cows, reckon they're after some dinner or fresh milk.
  19. Yes for sure. And as we've shown there's nothing particularly secret nor proprietary in the models, all we want to do is have some fun and make the games better, where's the harm. This could be the start of a whole new CM series. We need some fugees to go with it. Or you could stick one of the hay stacks in the cart ... or add some milk churns in there ... or fill it with cabbages, hours of fun. Are those air conditioners in the cart?
  20. Thanks Erwin. Whichever you're referring to is useable one way or another ... take the Bodenstaendig Pz IV for a spin, take one of the ponies for a ride ... though they might be little stubborn
  21. Do like these. Atmospheric, especially with the junge frau smiling in the background LOL, that's great ... What Harry said
  22. Hmm, don't know what might prevent it opening in the hex editor, nothing extraordinary in there, maybe a file size issue, but then again ... that's very odd, I thought an umlaut would be part of a standard character set in any system. Ironic that it affected a native German speaker! I will modify the folder names to use the ae. Dang that annoying! Thanks for discovering this Harry. And, thinking aloud ... maybe a character set issue is causing the hex editor issue, I wrote out the files on my Mac so perhaps the character set MacOS uses, being different than the character set a Windows PC uses is enough to cause these weird errors? Front of the Pz IV turret is quite a small target and very low to the ground. I had a few plough up the pavement before hitting home. Most often the first round to hit will destroy it. Hehe, dragon's teeth and mud this week. Will have some mud sets for you to sample. Could use some feedback. Likey, likey. That was quick, certainly look the part. Good work! Yes, much easier. I think they work well.
