  1. A brief Google search would suggest that... But as I said earlier, I don't even pretend to know whether this is accurate. [ November 09, 2002, 03:54 PM: Message edited by: Mikser ]
  2. Yes, I see the reasoning now, but I don't agree with it. Surely it would be more logical to use dual-mag optics to allow the benefits of both field-of-view and magnification, and instead let crew experience dictate efficiency in using it? It is most puzzling that the KT has the same rated optics as any a Panzer III.
  3. A brief glimpse at the optics of the late-war tanks in CM:BB would suggest that late models of Tiger E and Tiger II possess 'good' optics... I may be mistaken, but I'm fairly certain late models of both received dual-magnification optics (Turmzielfernröhr 9C at 2.5X and 5X and 9D at 3X and 6X, respectively)...The Tiger II seems to be explainable by the fact that there is no 'late' model for it in the game, but to move from the binocular optics of early Tiger E to 'good' optics in late Tiger E would seem almost a retrograded step(Turmzielfernröhr 9C is indeed a monocular sight, but it also provides for two magnification modes, 2.5X and 5X). So I suppose my question is if this is some oversight that managed to sneak into the final product, or whether I've been misinformed as to the Turmzielfernröhr 9C/D bit. 4. I've always found the latter versions of StuG III beautiful in some strange, utilitarian manner....
  5. CDV is indeed doing a cultural duty by selling what is very much a níche game...Unfortunately they have to succumb to the clutches of political correctness, but I can deal with that as long as I have the Waffen Grenadier --> SS loader.
  6. It seems to be totally random, eg. some units even when purchased in the scenario editor do get some.
  7. Did you already try the Blitz loader? I don't know if it's accurate, but it seemed to me the first usage of the loader took a longer time than the consequent uses. Try the Blitz loader(=edit the shortcut), and give it some time to operate. For reasons of convenience, you should really tone down the waiting time(wait.txt)... Count how long it takes for the game to load into the main option screen, and add five seconds or so just to be on the safe side. [ October 31, 2002, 11:19 AM: Message edited by: Mikser ]
  8. Perhaps this a case of either ammo quality or the angle of incidence for the hits? [ October 30, 2002, 02:03 PM: Message edited by: Mikser ]
  9. To say the least! Daisy-chain mines are cheap as dirt, so I don't really see how this could NOT be gamey... Fallback positions are for just that, falling back; why place them on a road which is likely closer to the frontlines than the regular foxholes?
