  1. To me they more resemble a random disaster than a part of a tactical game. You just purchase them, and hope they blow up large chunks of the enemy, not gamey enough for me. Now if we could purchase "power-ups"...
  2. Med, are you playing against the AI or against human opponents? If you are squashing the AI on either side its probably time to match wits with a human opponent. Putting a human opponent behind the 'ole Russian troopskies might change your mind...
  3. I now have something to replace the CivII chart on my wall with. Many, many thanks Wolfe. By the way, I D/L the excel viewer and it works on Windows XP, in case anyone was wondering.
  4. Hey, I'm not a "junior" member any more!!! Somebody pat me on the back and offer me a "virtual" beer.
  5. You click on the CMBB icon on your desktop regardless of what you sat at the computer to do... "oooh I hate that"... "oh well might as well get a turn or two in since the game is already started"...
  6. I submit that if one were to rank real Life battles-in "non" CM nomenclature- in terms of probability of occurence they would be: 1-Assaults (By far the most common) 2-Attacks 3-Probes 99- Meeting Engagements 1,000,000-Out of shape guys in their underwear, sitting in front of a computer screen eating potato chips, thinking they are anywhere close to experiencing "real" combat
  7. Hi Richard. welcome aboard! I bought this game to successfully get over another strategy game myself. CMBB must be the Methadone of the gaming world.
  8. If you are married, maybe you have networked with your wife's "The SIMS: Go To War" expansion pack.
  9. I am no computer wizard Sean, but your computer will rock with this game. It will take CMBB out to lunch, then spank its bottom. It will... you get the point. Actually 500 Mhz was a Pentium 3 processor if memory serves correctly.
  10. I wasted about 3 min. waving in the background of a TV news camera 20 years ago. But your right, I should have aprox 10 min. remaining.
  11. Heres a thought...Maybe have one team member control armor, the other inf/artillery. It may be a more accurately model of WW2 and less of a god game since there would be less communication between inf/armor. I would be interested to know if it ends up being too confusing.
  12. I believe that the mortar needs a direct line of command (red line) to the HQ and the HQ cannot be hidden either.
  13. Apparently the US company I received the ad from thought that they could get the game from CDV for distribution to the US, which is unlikely. Therefore, if I would have tried to order the game it would have probably been listed as unavailable. The whole thing was probably cosmicly staged so that I could receive my few minutes of Warholian fame.
  14. If the company is selling the game in the US at a lower cost than, and against the wishes of BFC I did not want to give them free advertisement on BFC's forum. I did however want to alert BFC of the situation and this seemed to be the best/quickest way.
